  1. 2013 Boston Red Sox "Boston Strong" uniform

bctrackboi11's Gear Locker: 2013 Red Sox "Boston" uniforms

After about a year away from modding, I'm back!

Thank you for downloading my Boston Marathon Memorial uniform. Included is a uniform and a uniform select screen.

The uniforms will be in slot "10e".

If you want the uniforms in another slot instead, just unzip the files and rename the .fsh images to whatever slot you like.

    ABOUT THE UNIFORM

The Red Sox wore these special jerseys after the Boston Marathon bombing. While wearing this jersey, David Ortiz made his famous "This is our f**king city" speech during pregame ceremonies.

    INSTALLATION

-You will need kraw's Total Installer Thingy (TiT), which you can get right here on MVPMods.

-The rest is self explanatory, just install the .RAR file named "Install Me with TiT"

-As usual, remember to back up your files before installing!

    CREDITS

  2. 1971 Minnesota Twins Road Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 Minnesota Twins Road uniform set. The jerseys just had 2 color numbers on the back which were block.

Some of the players on the 1971 team were Rod Carew, Harmon Killebrew, Bert Blyleven, Tony Oliva, Cesar Tovar, and Danny Thompson. Rod Carew, Harmon Killebrew, and Jim Perry made the All-Star team for 1971. Tony Oliva was supposed to start in centerfield but he was hurt so Bobby Murcer of the Yankees took his place.

    Enjoy!

  3. 2013 Arizona Firefighter Tribute Uniforms (Arizona D-Backs) Yarnell 19

Here are the new black uniforms the D-Backs have been wearing at home in tribute to the 19 firefighters who perished earlier in the month. I think these uniforms look very good and better than their regular black/home uniforms. This set includes the "19" patch on the front of the jersey.

These uniform will replace slot "F" for the D-Backs. If you want these in a different slot; just extract the files and re-name to a different slot/letter. Uniform select image is <above>.

    Install with TiT.

  4. 1971 San Francisco Giants Home Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 San Francisco Giants home uniform set. Their home uniforms were manufactured by both Wilson & McAuliffe. The number font was quite unique. As you can see from the jersey above, it's a cross between block and varsity. I had to use Google, watch the taping that I have on the 1971 All-Star game, check Ebay, etc., to get a little grasp on what was being used. I believe that they used and put together their own font as they did for the 1973 jerseys and others through the franchise's history. I did my best at trying to put the font together. If there's something wrong, please pm me and I'll fix it.

Some of the players from the 1971 team were Willie Mays, Chris Speier, Ken Henderson, Gaylord Perry, John Cumberland and Dick Dietz. Willie Mays and Willie McCovey started the All-Star game and Bobby Bonds and Juan Marichal were subs. They won the NL West but were defeated in 4 games by the Pirates.

    Enjoy!

  5. 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates Road Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates road uniform set. They used this basic uniform from the middle of 1970 to 1976. In 1975, Wilson got the contract and started using Wilson Varsity numbers on the road jersey instead of the 2-color block.

I get most of my info from Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide".

  6. 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates Home Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates home uniform set. This set can be used from 1970-1976 with various patches through that time. They wore this uniform when they played the opening game in 3 Rivers Stadium in mid-1970. The jersey had 2-color block numbers on the front and back with no name. They won the NL East in 1970-1972, 1974, and 1975 with this uniform. The road jersey started using varsity numbers in 1975-76.

Some of the members of the 1971 team were Willie Stargell, Richie Hebner, Bob Robertson, Steve Blass, Dave Cash, and Dave Giusti. Willie Stargell and Dock Ellis started the All-Star, and Roberto Clemente and Manny Sanguillen were subs. Dock Ellis gave up the booming homerun to Reggie Jackson and also took the loss. The Pirates beat the Giants in the NLCS and it took them 7 games to beat the Orioles who were the favorites with their 4 20-game winners and great hitting.

    Enjoy!

  7. 1971 Milwaukee Brewers Road Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 Milwaukee Brewers Road Uniform set. The jerseys used a number font called block with serifs which was retained from the Pilots jerseys in 1969 (serifs are considered like the feet on the one and four and the vertical bit on the end of the 2, etc.). The front number originally was a form of varsity which was a bit wider than the rear numbers. Of course, we can't illustrate that difference in the mods (at least that I know of).

Players on the 1971 Brewers were the likes of Tommy Harper, Marty Pattin, Bobby Heise, Johnny Briggs, and Jose Cardenal. As usual at this time in MLB history, the Brew Crew held up the rest of the AL West.

    Enjoy!

  9. 1972-84 Cincinnati Reds Home Uniform Set

Here is the 1972-84 Cincinnati Reds Home Uniform Set. In the screenshot, you see Joe Morgan. He and some others were involved in one of the most famous and lucrative trades in MLB history. The Reds sent Lee May, Tommy Helms, and Jimmy Stewart to the Astros for Joe Morgan, Jack Billingham, Cesar Geronimo, and Denis Menke. These 4 men would initiate the 2nd version of the "Big Red Machine"...the first being in 1970 which would plow its way to the Fall Classic only to be beaten in 5 games by the Baltimore Orioles. Morgan and Geronimo would be quite suitable for one of the new artificial turf stadiums with their speed. Along with Tolan, (and later Ken Griffey), were the likes of George Foster, Dan Driessen, and the Reds rising rookie star Dave Concepcion with the 1970 veterans of Pete Rose, Tony Perez, and Johnny Bench. Except for 1974, the Reds would constantly make the post season until the Dodgers would take over for 1977-78. The Reds' usual nemesis in the NLCS would most always be the Pirates except in 1973 (Mets) and 1976 (Phillies). They beat the Pirates in 1970 (3 straight), 1972 (3 out of 5), 1975 (3 straight), but would lose in 3 straight in 1979 due to some injuries and Rose going to the Phillies.

This uniform was worn from 1972 to 1984. In 1985-1987, the uniform itself would stay basically the same but the number font would change from the bold block to the Reds varsity that you would see in the 1990 World Series. I got all my info from Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide".

I want to thank again Stecropper and all those who got the modding up and moving on this site. I also want to thank the fella who made the catcher's gear, batting gloves and wristbands Spungo (?).

  10. 1972-87 Reds Road Uniform Set

Here is the 1972-87 Reds Road Uniform set. 1972 was the 1st year for the Reds with their new double knit jerseys 1 1/2 years after entering a brand new stadium. Along with the new uniforms came one of the best and famous trades of MLB that sent Lee May, Tommy Helms, and Jimmy Stewart to name a few to the Astros for Joe Morgan, Jack Billingham, Denis Menke, and Cesar Geronimo. Immediately, they got back into the NLCS and beat the Pirates in 5 (with a little help by Bob Moose's wild pitch), but got beat by the mustached Oakland A's in 7 (without Reggie Jackson). Pete Rose is documented in saying, "We let 1 man beat us," (meaning Gene Tenace with his 4 HR's). Maybe he was crying the "Reds" because the A's pitching staff of Holtzman, Hunter, Fingers, Odom, and company held Morgan, Tolan, and himself to 16 hits out of 78 abs in a 7-game World Series. Reds such as Mike LaCoss, Bill Bonham, Dave Collins, Nick Esasky, Ron Oester, and Tom Seaver also wore this jersey through its stretch.

I got my info again from Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide". Thanks to all especially Stecropper who initiated this site and its mods. I will be using this one in the coming TC1983 that I plan on doing.

  11. 1971 Washington Senators Home Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 Washington Senators Home uniform set. 1971 was the last year for the Washington Senators. During the 1971-72 off-season, the team moved to Arlington, Texas, and became the Texas Rangers.

Big Frank Howard was the last Senator to be in the All-Star Game. Curt Gowdy made the comment, while calling the game, "This is a guy that eats 6 or 8 eggs for breakfast, a couple of steaks...and that's just to start." Gowdy also mentioned that he asked Ted Williams who hit the longest homerun that he saw, and Ted said Frank Howard. Howard bounced out to Beckert when he pinch-hit for Jim Palmer about the middle of the game. Other fellas that played on the 71 team that would become pretty good ballplayers were Jeff Burroughs and a young Toby Harrah. The former Cy Young winner Denny McLain, and Don Mincher, Paul Lindblad, Horatio Pina, and Tim Cullen would play on 1 or more A's teams from 1972-74 who would win World Championships.

Of course, the Senators still wore the flannel uniforms with their own particular number font with touches of both block and Wilson Varsity. The uniforms would be recycled for the Rangers' spring training during the Spring of 1972. They would remove "Senators" and place "Rangers" on top. The number font would be also recycled...the home numbers would be used throughout the 70's but the road ones would be replaced in 1975.

As always, I got my uniform info from Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide". I also want to thank all those who laid the groundwork for this site. Until I discovered this site, I thought MVP 2005 was boring because you couldn't edit the teams. I'm REALLY enjoying this!!!

  13. 1971 Chicago Cubs Home Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 Chicago Cubs home uniform set. Both the Cubs and the Cardinals were a couple of my favorite teams when I was a kid back in the early 70's...of course after the Orioles. The Cubs had a number of pretty decent teams then but the Pirates always seemed to win the NL East (1970-72). Their 2nd Baseman Glenn Beckert was 3rd in hitting behind Joe Torre and Ralph Garr, and Fergie Jenkins was 1st in wins and 2nd in strikeouts behind Tom Seaver. The 1971 All-Star Game had a number of Cubs...Glenn Beckert started at 2nd and Jenkins, Ron Santo, and Don Kessinger were subs.

While I was working in the bus parts department at Capital Area Transit (Harrisburg, PA's transit authority), I got to know a fella at Mohawk Manufacturing and Supply Co., in Niles, IL. (suburbs of Chicago) named Otto...I don't know his last name. Mohawk sold bus parts to bus companies. Otto was a H--U--G--E Cubs fan. He was an older gentleman who retired and still worked part-time at Mohawk. He loved talking to people. Otto remembered Cubs from back in the 50's. He knew quite well of the guys that I kinda liked...Don Kessinger, Glenn Beckert, Billy Williams, Joe Pepitone, Cleo James, Rick Monday, and Ron Santo. I think that he even took in some games at Wrigley. He was a REALLY great guy and super at customer service...something that hardly exists anymore. I dedicate my Cubs sets to him!!!

I got my info from Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide".

In 1972, they would receive their double-knit uniforms that would also include some minute differences. The number font for the road jersey was the "Red Sox" font in reddish orange on dark blue with also the same color scheme for the names on the back.

  15. Red Sox Style Number Font Template

Here is a Red Sox Style numbers template in 2-color. I have a hard time taking the used fonts in the game and change the color/colors because of the shading. I thought if I have this problem, probably others do too. I thought that when I redid the numbers for the 1971 A's home uniform, I'd keep a set of templates to upload as well as use them myself. I tried my best to stay by the same font display in Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide". As shown in Bill's guide, for example, the 6 and 9 were not just reversed. I tried my best to resemble that in my font set. Realistically speaking, a number of teams used this font: the late 60's/early 70's A's, of course the Red Sox (hence the name of the font), at least the 70-71 Astros, etc. If you have any comments or questions, please pm me. Thanks for looking.

6/22/2013--When I was testing my 71 Red Sox in a game, I noticed that the numbers were terribly short. I redid the length, and I fixed a couple of inaccuracies. Sorry for all the fuss!

  17. 1971 Astros Home Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 Astros Home Uniform set. If you download this set, you will eventually notice that the orange looks redder than the orange caps and other orange items with the "rainbow" uniforms which were released by the Astros organization in 1975. A gentleman who lives near me and I've known since I was "knee-high to a grasshopper", was a local scout for the Astros from around the late 80's to somewhere in the 90's, I believe (I forget the exact year span...I haven't talked to Ed for awhile.). His name is Edward Edwards (no this isn't a typo). He knew Biggio and those who played with him. Anyhow, I had gotten an Astros cap from Mickey's Place and showed it to him. He said that from 1971-74 the orange was more of a reddish orange and darker than the caps during the "rainbow" era. I tried to demonstrate what Eddie was describing and I also used Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jerseys Guide".

Also I tried to do my best at showing the Astros unique font of the period. The home number font was a 2 color (reddish orange on dark blue) varsity variation. The biggest difference is the number "4".

This is the last year with the Astros for Joe Morgan before joining the "Big Red Machine". The same goes for Jack Billingham and Cesar Geronimo. Their fire-balling starter Don Wilson relieved in the 1971 All Star Game for the last 2 innings of AL at-bats. His tally was no runs on no hits, struck out 2 and walked 1. I always kinda liked Don Wilson, but hit a sour note with me when he struck out one of my favorite Orioles Don Buford who was pinch-hitting for Mike Cuellar. Mickey Lolich would come in and pitch the last 2 innings for the AL and get the save. Don Wilson was 3rd in ERA in 1971 behind Tom Seaver and Dave Roberts of the Padres. He would have had a great career, but it was cut short in 1975 when he was found dead in his car in his closed garage. It was a shame.

I want to thank Stecropper again for all his tutoring and all the others who layed the groundwork for this site.

  18. 1971 Royals Road Uniform

Here is the 1971 Kansas City Royals Road Uniform set. In 1971, the team would be starting to come together that would go on to win the 1976-78 AL West and a few would be left that would be in the 1980 WS like Amos Otis. Speaking of Otis, he was the stolen base leader for the AL in 1971. Cookie Rojas and Amos Otis were also reserves during the 1971 All-Star Game in Detroit. I know Rojas was playing 2nd when BRobby caught the pop up for the last out. I'm not sure if Otis was still in at the end of the game. Dick Drago was the anchorman in the starting rotation during the season and a young Paul Splittorff was also a starter.

  19. 1971 Cardinals Road Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 Cardinals road gray uniform. If someone looks at the sample image and thought that I made a mistake and made it white, no I didn't. It was VERY light gray and if you weren't careful looking at original pics, you would have thought that it was off white. Again, I got my info from Bill Henderson's program, "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide". I want to thank again Jim825 and tebjr for allowing me to borrow the beautiful Cardinals block numbers and letters font from the 1988 Total Conversion. They were absolutely beautiful!!! I also borrowed the very nice 3 color V-neck collar from the same set. Other than that, I borrowed the same small stuff and created the jerseys, pants, sleeves, cap, helmet, and altered the manager's jacket a little bit. In 1971, Joe Torre led the NL in hitting, Jose Cruz was a rookie, and Steve Carlton was in the top 4 in the NL in wins. They almost overtook the Pirates in the NL East but didn't quite make it. Enjoy the set!

  20. 1971 Cardinals Home Uniform Set

Here is the 1971 Cardinals uniform. Again, I took everything from Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide". This is the 1st year for their pullover polyester uniform. They retained the 2-color red on dark blue names and block number font. I want to thank Jim825 and tebjr for their permission to use the correct Cardinal numbers font from the 1988 total conversion. Whoever was personally responsible for creating them...they are TERRIFIC!!! Joe Torre wore this uniform when he captured the NL Hitting Championship for 1971. I want to try to round the neck to make it more realistic for 1971 since the collar was round versus V-neck that started in 1973. I want to thank whoever made the Cardinal uniform for 1988...I also borrowed the beautiful collar with the 3 colored stripe. I borrowed some of the little things but I either created from scratch or altered the rest. If anybody has any questions, please pm me. Enjoy!

I'm NOT trying to compete but again there is a difference between the 1970 & 1971 as per Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide". I also used my 1 color block numbers and letters.
