The goal of this set up is to make you feel more in the game and rely on the “feel” of the game versus meters and visuals. Therefore to get the full effect it is strongly suggested to use the Bat 4/Pitch 6 camera and, as indicated above, when batting, do not pre-load (i.e., move the directional stick to a particular position, especially up and in). Also this was designed with the Base Up! Rosters for optimal use.

WS98 Batting View Datafile

This is a build off of MD's file from years ago. Over time, I've taken out the PIP foul ball cam, slowed the interval between pitches for the CPU pitcher and more recently, added this World Series '98 type cam for Batting View 4. This datafile may also be useful for those having trouble getting hits and/or are using a classic pitching mode (i.e., no pitch meter). Adjust your sliders accordingly. More testing needed, but I think this may help with producing less grounders hit too close to the front of the plate as well as possibly helping with ball spread.

(back up any other datafiles you may replace.... easiest thing is to zip and label the zip file)

The Meat and Potatoes of this mod is Kumala's version 2 Datafile edit of EAMods Datafile for their MVP 08 Mod
with a tweaked Pitching Meter for more of a sweet spot than originally included. The extra trimmings are True's "Behind the Pitcher View" from his Datafile v1.5 & Jack319's "Batting View 5" mod
of Elpanatibu's "High Heat Batting View' datafile.

Jim825 Combo Datafile v5.0

This mod contains eight different combo datafiles. Four of the datafiles use the normal (i.e. bigger) pitch meter and four of them use a smaller pitch meter to make pitching more challenging and to help produce more walks.
There are two main folders:
- Normal pitch meter
- Small pitch meter
Under each of these folders, there are four additional subfolders:
- Default
- Walkup Music On
- Foul Ball Replays On
- Walkup Music and Foul Ball Replays On
All of the datafiles under the "Small pitch meter" folder contain the following:
- Spitoon's walk fix (which reduces the size of the "sweet spot" in the pitching meter)
- SeralMike's Walk and Strikeout Fix to provide the proper balance of walks and strikeouts.
SerialMike recommends setting the User Pitch Meter Difficulty Slider to 0. If you find the pitching too easy, you can make the slider more negative. If you find the pitching too difficult, you can make the slider more positive.
Besides the pitch meter modifications, the datafiles in the subfolders are as follows:
1. Default datafile
The Default datafile contains the following modifications:
- Trues' batting camera #4
- Trues' change to remove batter walkup music
- Pared's Behind the Pitcher camera #6
- Trues' changes to remove foul ball replays
- Spitoon's changes to move the outfielders back
- abhall's HH low batting view camera #5
- Spitoon's changes to move the infielders in
2. Walkup Music On datafile
The Walkup Music On datafile is the same as the Default version above except that it turns on Batter Walkup Music
3. Foulball Replays On datafile
The Foulball Replay On datafile is the same as the Default version above except that it turns on Foulball Replays
4. Walkup Music and Foulball Replays On datafile
The Walkup Music and Foulball Replay On datafile is the same as the Default version above except that it turns on Batter Walkup Music and Foul Ball Replays
Installation:
To install, select your desired the datafile and extract it to your MVP2005 Baseball \ data folder.

I just wanted to add some info here. The sliders when using this datafile should be set to minus 42 for infielders speed. (both CPU & User... manual & MVP) This is VERY important that you do so. Otherwise you will find that infielders will be able to grab almost every ground ball. You may also want to add power a bit to perhaps plus 10, but that is more a personal preference issue. Bullpen fatige at 20 Fatigue grace at - 15 Foul ball frequency at 40 (both user & cpu) User outfielder speed at - 10 (both manual & MVP) CPU & User catch errors at 50 (you may want to set that a bit lower for CPU in dynasty mode) All injury sliders set to 40 (you may want to set that a bit lower for dynasty mode.

RodData2005 - for MVP Baseball 2005

Credits: Thanks to MVPMODS.com for a great site. The data file modifications are the result of the effort of quite a few people over the past 14 months or so. I'm sure to leave someone out, but here goes: Snepp, JohnE, Spitoon, Kamasutra, Trues, Kumala, SerialMike, Thommo, JackCasper. Then there are many others who tested for me last year and gave helpful input. The game is MUCH better out of the box this year, but I couldn't resist making a few tweaks. This file modifies hit balls off the bat. Screaming ground balls have been reduced. An attempt was made to add more looping line drives, Texas League singles, flies balls that die at the wall for doubles. I tried to get more choppers and inroduce some weaker grounders. I think this has been achieved.

abhall's Batting Cameras Version 1.0 3/23/07 ** This is True's datafile version 1.4 (without the walk up music) along with my camera mods. ** I've modified two batting cameras, battingview 3 and battingview 5: Battingview 5 - a low "high heat" batting camera very similar to the original one I created in 3/05. With this one the camera angle isn't quite as low making it much better IMO. Battingview 3 - this is pretty much a combination of Trues batting view #4 and my batting view #5. The view is lower than batting view #4, but higher than batting view #5.
