NOTE:  THIS IS AN MLB ONLY ROSTER!

 

Many more players created.  Younger pitchers' and starters' control attributes updated in accordance with WHIP numbers (for tenured starters, the last 3 years were used).

 

Tested via simming an entire season with trades, injuries and suspensions off.  (Btw, the LA Dodgers won).

 

If you find any mistakes (batting stances, pitching styles, jersey numbers, etc.), please PM me and I'll include the fixes, if warranted, in the next update, or if there are enough I'll upload another version.  If you think a player should be created and placed on the MLB team, PM me and I'll consider it.

 

Since "Placeholder" players (last name) were put in to fill the empty slots, these rosters can be used with injuries and suspensions set to "ON" without crashing.  Most every team has 24 players.  I don't know why at this point, but filling teams to 25 seems to be causing freezes when simming a season/franchise.

 

If you want to use these rosters to create another version or a roster incorporating MiLB, just ask (as someone already has in reference to a standard only roster).  If you are thinking of making a MiLB roster set, you can alter the existing "Placeholder" players.

 

INSTALLATION:  Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\EA SPORTS\MVP 2005 (or whatever you named it)\data\database subfolder.  DELETE the existing 19 .dat files.  Unzip this roster file to that location.  DO NOT SIMPLY OVERWRITE!

**Many older FA pool players were removed to assist with any possible freezing

 

**All pitchers' fielding and range set to 0, 1, or 2 (for more realistic hits up the middle)

 

NOTE:  rosters may still crash if suspensions and/or injuries set to ON.

It might be the free agents.  If too full, it can be touchy.... let me re-check.

 

Addendum:  the problem was possibly from the All-Star teams being added.  This is why I really don't like making these teams.  I forgot to "hide" the players so that they don't show up in the FA pool (but they still count against that number, in other words, 50 of the FA slots are taken up by the 2 All-Star teams).  But even with experimenting the FA pool and limiting it to 1 player, I'm still getting a freeze also, which makes no sense.  I'm going to have to look at no MiLB teams keeping 25 players any longer.  I'm really not sure what happened along the way.

I was going to comment on the problem of free agents ... But I see that already Gordo fixed on that. I hope I can fix it soon. Thank you for your great work, friend.

I'm working on it.  I'm not sure what's making it freeze at this point.  I may have to resort to plan B which may take a day or so.

 

Also, you guys who are asking questions in the review area aren't asking questions in the correct area. Responses can't be done there.

 

Addendum:  it's definitely the new All Star teams that gummed up the works.  No idea why as I didn't do anything different from a couple of years ago and it couldn't be the FA pool since I brought them down to 1 player.  Something internal that I can't control is creating the problem, so the only thing that will have to happen is reverting back to the old All-Star teams....not much else I can do.
