About This File

Hello there! It took me more than two months but I'm finally releasing a new version of the All Levels Rosters that reflects what we have right now in the 2nd half of the season.  Thanks for the waiting and thanks for the messages of support to this project.

Installation:
Go to your MVP/data/database folder, first, delete ALL the 19 DAT files and then paste the new DAT files of this download. Don't forget to backup.

What's new on the MLB Level:

  • All transactions to date (once again, BIG thanks to Laroquece).
  • All MLB Rosters updated to date (Injured players were placed on the minors in order to make all lineups and rotations as close to the same the teams used today).
  • All Batting ratings, hot/cold zones, and batted ball percentages were updated using the data from 2018 to this point of the season.
  • Fielding ratings for positional players (except catchers) were updated with the data from 2018 to 2021. (thanks to Gordo for the tips here and with the hot/cold zones).
  • Accurate pitching repertoires added for several pitchers. There is still work to do with pitching ratings, but I'll wait until to end of the season to have all the data.
  • 2021 ALL-STAR TEAMS! And Future All-Stars teams too! In the former I focused on players that did play the game (with painful exclutions due to roster limits) and with the later you'll need a fully unlocked profile to see the teams.
  • Added the IDs of the latest new cyberfaces (I'm not sure if I assigned the correct skin tone for all of them).
  • Added all the new audio/photo IDs.
  • Some corrections in batting stances and pitching delivery styles (still work to do here, I actually will appreciate any help here because it's hard to find the time to see all the video reports).

What's new on the Minors:

  • HUNDREDS of new ratings for batters and pitchers in order to reflect what they have been doing this whole season.
  • I've been following the promotions of some of the top prospects. For example, Adley and Torkelson are now in Triple-A.
  • Some of the most interesting prospects that get the call to High-A in the last couple of months can be seen in the game now (Hello Luciano and Orelvis!)
  • I already started to create the guys of the past 2021 draft! You can now play with this year's 1st overall selection Henry Davis in High-A Greensboro.
  • Tweaks to the ratings of the Cubs and Brewers prospects according to their scouting reports via Fangraphs.
  • The Top 100 Prospects were also updated (Based in the Fangraphs Top Prospect List).

Extras:

  • You have he usual excel with the updated Prospect List.
  • I'm going to update that literally the next month, but the record of all teams in their respectives first half of the season can be seen when playing exhibition games.
  • Screenshots.

Thanks for downloading and have fun!

Pd. Sorry Cubs and Nats fans, it was awful.

Hey buddy

I haven’t downloaded this update yet but, based on your previous work, I know it’ll be great. I just wanted to say thanks in advance for the huge effort involved in putting a roster of this magnitude together.

Many many thanks my friend

The ratings I've done along the way for contact/power have been a "build" for older (4+ years experience) players over time and not necessarily a reflection of just the current year.  I've always wanted to capture just the single season, but it was too much work on top of what I was already doing.  Similarly, I learned the maybe a given pitch type's control should be based more on the data we have vs. simply a pitch type that most pitchers use (of course, 2 seam FB), but that's tricky, because it could be for some pitchers that, e.g., their curve is more effective because the FB has been established. These will be interesting to use.

Oh Gordo my friend, your body of work over the years is impeccable. None of us would have the “base” without your rosters buddy

Thanks buddy, It is very cool to put this amount of players in the same roster, I can't wait to see which of this young guys that I'm putting in the game in the beginning of their pro careers will dominate the League in 3 or 5 years.

Yeah, for all the players I did use the split data season by season to see what is their context, especially in this season, in order to have some kind of "tendencies" to add or subtract points based on that. You're right, pitching rating is really interesting and very tricky, based on what I've learned, there are a lot of stats that can help but I'm still not sure wich is the best one, I was wondering if maybe there is a way of using the data of Pitcher List to rate the control of each pitch type, for example, using the CWS%?

Ya, and to make it more complicated, Fangraphs has "pitch info pitch values" which means something like "runs above average per 100 pitches"  ..... so I guess that's like just about throwing 6-8 inns. depending on proficiency (if you go to a certain pitcher's page and click on "pitch types" and scroll down, it's lower on the page).

So for example, for John Means, I guess what this refers to is very up and down for his FB over the years and since it's so high for the knuckler in 2019, that's why it was the only year he pitched it.  But overall, you'd have to develop something to relate to the control numbers in MVP that would make sense.....plus it's variable from year to year potentially.

Ya, and this are stats that are very sensitive to a couple of bad outings. If you are ok with it, when I find time, I'll PM you to see if there is a viable rating chart that could be developed.

If you're not keeping guys in the majors for being on the 10 day IL, you're gonna drive yourself nuts.  They only miss a handful of games, especially pitchers.

Yeah it's kinda crazy, but I'm trying to follow who's hurt and who's up as much as I can to have a feel of how are the things in the League today, plus some guys who went to the 10 day IL have missed a lot of time. I think that this way is fine if I can keep updating my roster on a daily basis.

Alfre2jose, excellent roster. I know you wrote some of the injured major league players were placed in the minors, but I did notice a handful of players missing from the roster set that are injured. For example, Soroka, glasnow, Dustin may, madrigal, morejon, Dakota hudson, etc are missing compared to your beginning of season release. Do you have a list of players that were removed?

Thanks! Yes, I have the list and all of them in a backup file, when the season ends I will release a roster that will include those players. (If you want it, I can send you the list via dm).
