When I install these using the portrait installer, the portrait folder in the main directory of MLB2K12 disappears. Is that to be expected? Also when I use the portrait maker, I don't have photoshop or gimp, I have corel painstshop pro that I used to make portraits. Then when I use your portrait maker, I get a message that there is no alpha layer. Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

yes it exports all your current portraits to a folder called "portraits" in your main MLB2K12 directory

Then copies the new portraits to that "portraits" folder.

Then it creates a new portrait.iff & portrait.cdf files using the contents of the "portraits" folder

It then deletes that "portraits" folder.

as for paint shop pro, never used, but did find this

1) Blank image with transparent backdrop

2) Draw a single line with airbrush tool

3) Create Mask Layer from Source Opacity

4) Save Mask Layer to Alpha Channel

5) Close Image

6) Open Image

7) Load Mask Layer from Alpha Channel

Mask data appears horizontally stretched and shows inexplicable vertical banding. Very odd.

unless Corel has fixed the issue you would have to save as BMP and then convert to a TGA (using nconvert or something)

this states the program does alpha with BMPs http://www.axialis.com/tutorials/tutorial-misc002.html

Thank you for the explanation on your portrait maker. How do you get the portraits folder back or don't you? As for paint shop pro explanation, I use it along with the old way of making portraits and the NBA tool. The explanation that you gave on paint shop pro is all greek to me, didn't understand any of it, lol. Will try a BMP files to see what happens. Thanks.
