About This File

First off, tremendous thanks to Kyleb (Total Conversion organizer/modder extraordinaire) who worked diligently on contributing, refining and troubleshooting this roster set!!

Also a thanks to arkey and toleton whose previous rosters were used for some player guidance as well as Jim825 for his assistance with troubleshooting !!

*** works best with MVP08 and MVP12 TC Mods

*** INSTALLATION:

Place all 19 .dat files from the zip file into your MVP baseball subfolder

  • All pertinent transactions made to 05.07.13

  • Adjusted contact/power numbers for proper splits based on recent avgs. through 2012 (primarily MLB)

  • Updated hot/cold zones for every player who played in a nominal amount of 2012 MLB games (source: MLB GameDay)

  • All MLB starters and relievers (with nominal appearances) given adjusted control numbers based on 2012 ERA as well as adjustments for accurate pitch types and speeds

  • Speed adjusted for necessary players

  • Improved Catchers’ throwing attributes based on 2012 throw out percentages

  • AAA teams with complete 25 man rosters (AA and Single A teams with generic rosters) producing less chance of season/franchise/owner freezes

  • FA Pool highly streamlined

  • Significantly injured players available for reinsertion directly from FA pool (list inc.)

**It is highly recommended before starting a season/franchise/owner mode that you go into roster management and select “reset rosters”. You do not have to save the roster. Upon starting a season/franchise/owner mode, select “YES” under “Use Default Rosters”.

I installed as per your instructions, so far able to sim through entire season without issue. For some reason my schedule updater quit working again after install, but everything looks great so far. It's nice to have Dexter Fowler as a black man, he's been a white man in my game for quite some time. Thanks for all your work as usual, will report back any issues.

Thanks a lot for your hard work on the rosters. Only issue I see is that Kevin Youkilis is still on the White Sox. He is currently with the Yankees now.

They are simply placeholders for potential future AA and A squads. As indicated this is an MLB/AAA focused set.

Bravo !! Really thanks !! But, i couldn't find the asia pitcher "Chien-Ming Wang" who should be in Yankee AAA.

This is a fantastic roster set. Now that I've played tons of games, simmed through numerous seasons, and faced most of the big-name pitchers, most all of the players ratings I've examined seem perfect, a bang-up job as usual. Funny to see how the standings/stats go with numerous sim seasons, the Braves have been very low in the standings in many of them, and the Brewers and Angels have been at the top. Yu Darvish also has not been in the top 20 for strikeouts in more than a couple. Though with the Angels I suppose any simmed portion of a season would inevitably have them on top based on their ratings, just amazing how the real world Angels are woefully underachieving. Also, Iive been using your All-Star sliders you posted a couple months back, and they still seem dead on perfect. Thanks for every bit of your work!

Glad that you guys are having some good experiences (Redbeard....check out my slider updates in the associated thread). I know what you mean with the simming, but then again, just because the attributes are largely based off of real life stats, it doesn't always give the same results as to what's actually going on....which can be the beauty of the game! This was also the case last year with Oakland. The consensus was that in real life they largely overachieved, but in the game I think they were ranked overall in the bottom 1/3.

Kyleb and I are working on the minor leagues as well. The attributes won't be as realistic because there isn't enough data plus dozens of players have to be created, but hopes are it will be a fully functioning roster from MLB to A for TC Mod 13 !

Thanks for the heads up, though with those new sliders I imagine my winning record may quickly become a thing of the past......

Update: Just played a couple games with the updated sliders, and didn't experience a much harder game as expected. Seemed even more balanced than usual. Interesting how the subtle changes affect gameplay. Dexter Fowler went 4-5, with a triple and THREE homers, including a walk-off in the bottom of the ninth against Sergio Romo, I only wish he would do things like that in real life! Keep up the magnificent work!

With those sliders it should be a little harder to pitch and somewhat more user offense production potential (but again, the user batting sliders are only set that way for batting cam 4 that I modified to be like WS98 and for no bat pre-loading).The increase for offensive production (actually on both sides) is because of the pitcher control slider being further reduced, thus the potential for pitchers to make more mistakes in the zone. If you are using other batting angles, I can imagine batting can become very easy and I would adjust the sliders accordingly.

I'm just getting into MVP Baseball 2005, and it looks really cool. My first 2 downloads are MVP12 mod and these rosters. Am I able to use these rosters in Owner mode?

Hey man! All looks really good! I'm having some installation issues though. I've copied and overwritten the 19 files in the database, but when I start the game it keeps all of the rosters from mvp 12. No changes. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
