Gordo Posted August 2, 2015 Share How about giving me some names to make sure that you're installing it correctly.
zakakatz Posted August 2, 2015 Share Ive just tried installing and the Jays don't have Tulo or Price...
Gordo Posted August 2, 2015 Share You guys are not installing properly. Don't use TiT. Simply go to the roster directory (data/database subfolder), delete the 19 .dat files. Unzip this roster set to that location. (Don't try to overwrite). Also, if you have more than one install of MVP, make sure you're choosing the correct shortcut. Plus, new rosters will not show up in existing seasons/dynasties.
alansu55 Posted August 2, 2015 Share I'm personally new to modding MVP games on PC, so please tell me if I did anything wrong or if there is anything I need to change (and sorry for any stupid mistakes I may have made). Here is what I did: I deleted the 19 dat files from data/database. Then I selected the files from the rar and dragged + dropped them into data/database. Also tried automatically extracting using 7zip. Both methods resulted in an unchanged roster (Zobrist, Kasmir, and Clippard still in Oakland, etc.) The last time and only time I had updated MVP was when the 1st version of MVP 15 came out. Gordo Posted August 2, 2015 Share That should work. You did what I explained it seemed. I'm not sure where you are looking for the changes. If it's in an existing season/dynasty, they won't be there. Set up an exhibition game or go into the management area from the primary game menu to look at rosters. If you totally replaced those 19 files, the players have to be there. zakakatz Posted August 2, 2015 Share Thanks for clarifying Gordo. Here's what I did.Clean Install of MVP 2005.Extracted MVP15 total conversion.Deleted all files in data/database folder - there were 23, no 19 which struck me as odd.Extracted roster update into Database folder. Result: If I place an exhibition, the rosters are correct and updated. However If I try and manage rosters at the main menu or start a new season, the game crashes now. Gordo Posted August 2, 2015 (edited) Share That's because you deleted 3 essential big files and the csv file. Right click and group by file type. Delete ONLY the 19 dat files and replace with this mod's files. You'll need to restore the other 4 files from your trash bin. Gordo Posted August 2, 2015 Share You guys who are having difficulties, should you resolve it, should comment back and indicate how you did so, in case people in the future run into the same thing.
Gordo Posted August 3, 2015 Share Couple of minor things missed that Oscar found:Jace Peterson ATL, change to LH bat.John Gibbons TOR manager, change cyberface to #
alansu55 Posted August 3, 2015 Share Just got it to work. Thanks Gordo, rosters are pretty good. Here's what I did: opened mvp 15 total conversion by kyleb in 7zip (the download comes in the form of an explodeme.exe to edit it, right click>7zip drop down menu>open archive). Afterwards, I deleted the data/database .dat files from the explodeme.exe and replaced them with these files. Afterwards I ran explodeme.exe (of course directing it to my mvp folder). Then i played the game and the rosters are updated. Good work Gordo!
Gordo Posted August 3, 2015 Share Good deal. I never really mentioned that the edits and changes are all MLB focused. I already spend many hours doing what was indicated, so I'm not going to spend more time trying to get minor league rosters correct too. Besides if you've ever looked at minor league rosters, they typically ahve more than 25 players listed, so there's no telling who to keep and who to send down.Technically, you shouldn't have to load rosters that way. What I spelled out should work.
Gordo Posted August 3, 2015 Share Tyler Lyons should be corrected to a LH pitcher.Sean Doolittle was accidentally placed in the Mets Single A team and not Oakland's. Move him to Oakland's Single A team.
gustavomorlin Posted August 3, 2015 Share my game has closed when i go to play a match. that problem started after update's installation.what do i need to do?
Gordo Posted August 4, 2015 Share Well, first off...don't rate the rosters below 5 stars (or any mod for that matter) because it's not working for you. Most everyone can get these (and other mods) to function properly. You need to give more information as to what you're adding them to. Did you install MVP 15? Are you simply trying to load them onto the basic MVP2005 game? Did you download the game or are you installing from disks? Did you add any other mods. Look around the site first. Gilger50 Posted August 5, 2015 Share Great work, as always. I'm most likely the only Marlins fan on this site, so I just wanted to make a few notes for the next update. (If there is one). I think you improved Carter Capps, but he throws 99 mph consistently. He is still throwing 94 mph on the game. I know you use a formula to adjust ratings, but take another look at Justin Bour, who will be taking over for Morse at 1B. I think his hitting ratings should be better than the 40s now that he is on the main roster in the game.Just some helpful suggestions from probably the only person playing as the Fish. Again, you're work is awesome and thanks for putting the time into this!
Gordo Posted August 5, 2015 Share Thanks for the comments. You're right about Capps. I'll up him to 97 (meaning you can go 99-ish). As for Bour, you may be right but he's still not fully tested. With rookies I look at their splits and then adjust down until they show a proven track record. I've seen it go both ways.Of course, people can always make their own edits too.
