About This File

MVP 2016 Initial MLB Rosters

These are NOT Opening Day rosters.  These are more of a combination of opening day, depth chart and projected short-term injury rosters.  Certain players who have relatively short term injuries (i.e., into April) who would have been on the opening day roster are included had it not been for the injury (e.g., Michael Brantley) and therefore are reflected as such.  The pitching rotations are also not based on actual opening day rotation necessarily.  Rotations are typically based on current listing in RotoWorld, but not exclusively.

Also, let’s be clear here…. this is NOT a MILB roster at all.  The minor league teams only hold other players in the organization.  However, some players that you know of in a given organization may not be there.  They may be in free agency.  This happens because during the course of the year when moves are done, some organizations are overstocked with players.  In the real world, they can have that.  In the MVP world, you are limited to 25 maximum players per squad, so they either go to FA or get deleted.

Additionally, many squads turned out to be short of the 25 player ceiling after all of the off-season moves.  Since I have only focused on the MLB, I had not, did not and will not create players for the MILB.  If a certain team is short of the 25 player mark, I substituted a generic pitcher or position player named “PlaceHolder”, because that’s exactly what he is.  What this does provide is a roster that should not crash or freeze up during the season even with injuries, trades and suspensions on.  Also, if anyone wants to take on these rosters and complete them for the MILB or any other reason, the Placeholder player can be modified to fit a needed created player.

Good Night and Good Baseball!

Too many FA's in the first version causing played games to crash to desktop.  FA pool reduced.  Original FA team file for MVPedit (.met file) included if you need it.  Most players eliminated were minor leaguers.

It depends on what you added it to.... the original install?  Post something in the corresponding support thread, such as something related to your operating system or you can start a new thread in the mvp2005 support section if you don't see anything related.

Have no idea what you are talking about. You're welcome to produce your own file.  Many attributes are based on actual statistics over the years for these players, not what you THINK they should be.

Are these rosters compatible with the MVP 2015 Total Conversion mod?

I am using these rosters with the MVP2015 mod and they work fine.  These are not opening day rosters (Don't think any current rosters available) so you have to edit each team to insure that the correct players are there.  Takes awhile but that is better than not playing the game at all.

Thanks!

THE very first line in the description says that they are not opening day rosters.  You may have to adjust cyberface numbers to get players to show the most recent cyberfaces, which is easily done through MVPedit or the attrib.dat file itself.
