rmcarthur
This happens to be the first baseball game i've played that has team chemistry and player mood. I must say that this sometimes is just more of a hassle than anything. Let's say I play a week of baseball. At the end of that week the players who I didn't play might whine about no at bats. If I did play them, the guy who wants to play ever day of the season cries for being benched. If I have a healthy pitching staff, the long relievers whine because they get no playing time. In this case having pitchers who pitch deep into the game and never get hurt apparently causes distress for the lesser players. Add this together with the minor league players who sometimes think they are the next big thing but play like they should be in little league and you get a big chaotic juggling act when making your lineup. Chemistry and mood are great additions to a baseball game I must say but sometimes I just wish my players would just shut up. I think I could deal with being a very well paid bench warmer making well over half a million dollars or more while doing very little actual work but I guess some players are never happy. What i'm wondering is if playing some guys a game here or there will make them quit complaining. For that matter, would an at bat here and there towards the end of a game make them be happy while not upsetting the workhorse they'd be substituted for? I guess i'm just hoping for a response with a success story that used a a roster tactic i've not contemplated yet. From some of the searching i've done on the topic, its seems many people are just as unsuccessful keeping some players, especially relievers, happy. nittanylionfan3
Does it really make a difference if your'e relievers and bench players are happy or not. As long as my starters and starting pitchers are happy i'm happy too. I really don't care about the rest of the team.
Vieux_Renard
if your player is tired (less 75 or 70%) and that you replace him, he will never be disappointed.
low42
I tested these waters when I started a Cubs franchise for the hell of it about a month ago. N. Perez was unhappy on a consistent basis, even though he was getting subbed into almost every game, with ocassional at bats, and getting a start maybe once every 5-7 games. I think it's just a case of the developers going a little over-board and making it more exaggerated than it should be. I like the feature though, it just wasn't done all that realistically. mrtuck73
You may also want to look at their contract. I found that players that were signed to a contract as an "every day" player but I used them as a bench player complained more than others. Now, I have seen a couple of guys complain about playing time when they played in every game and I did not sub or pinch hit for them even once! The_Kamper
All I really care about is the major league team. Every back up on the mlb team has to say back up or AAA back up. If I want to have a nice stick on the bench I pay him more than he should and make sure his contract says backup. As far as Im concerned the minor leagues are for stockpiling talent. If their pissed about it I dont care. If they do get called up they get a long contract before they do.
sfgiantsflgators
from my experience i've always had a handful of players that are mad for various reasons (pay, playtime, etc.) but my team chemistry isn't effected in the long run if i can keep the team winning. there's always going to be the .200 hitter that throws like a girl but thinks he should be a $10 million indispensible...but if you stay in contention and field a winning club your overall team stays pretty happy. Zelda55
there's gotta be a way to fix this tho. im sure someone can come up with a patch or something because some of my starters keep complaining even tho ive played them for the last 10 or so games, just because i subbed in a benchman for a game. In my dynasty I got emails from some bench players, that they are angry and sth. like that; they crashed sth. in the locker room and so... Matt Kata was the guy in my D-Backs Dynasty! Well I recognized this, but I didnt make any line-up moves. He got 10 AB's in the 1st Month of the season. My starters are more than happy; green smile :D
