mderita
I have been using The Big Unit's sliders for about 5 games -- I think the hitting is great, I can score anywhere from 8 runs one game, 2 the next, then 5 another. But I was looking for some help on how to get the CPU to hit me a little bit better. I have played about 28 games total, and my era is only around 1.5. What have you noticed helps the CPU hit better? I know contact seems like an obvious choice, but what about swing frequency? His default cpu contact is at 33. When i go up to all-star, i can't hit very well at all, and i pitch/get hit pretty realistic. Any ideas? I usually only give up like 6 hits MAX per game. I dont like being 21-7(most of the losses from simming away games or playing all-star)
abhall
Use spitoon's datafile or essentially download jim's combo datafile. See downloads. In short, the pitcher meter has been modified making it harder to hit the green area on the meter. The result is more CPU walks, more bad pitches leading to more hits = more runs for the CPU. spitoon
That's good advice, listen to abhall he really knows his stuff As strange as this sounds, you might want to look at lowering that contact number a bit too. I found that a high contact number results in more balls being hit, but they seem to be hit with less authority, almost as though the batters are using a wiffle ball bat...lowering the contact number results in more crisply struck balls. uspdude
haha... same here. Im currently playing Pro Level, and i kind of getting to a point where i can beat the CPU team by more than 7 points and strike out around 8 to 14 every game easily, sometime i even have to throw an inside top corner bad changeup intentionally in order to get my ERA up a little.. anyway I've tried to play harder difficulty but once i move up to the next difficulty, i find it too hard [almost impossible] to get a hit or strikeout..
