eagraphic editor question

i am trying eaeditor for the first time. I m trying to change the mets batting goves and shoes. I did the whole tool and wizard and got the gloves and shoes i wanted in place. When i start the game up and i try to play with the mets the game crashes even when i try to open edit players. This only happens with the mets. Im guessing its because thats the team I changed. Am i supposed to do something that i missed?

Let me know fellas

In the future don't post the same exact question and don't spam the board.

To answer your question, did you update both the alpha and the regular file?

-

Here is how I add something to the game:

1) Extract with gfxpak.

2) Open with nfshtool.

3) Get a sense of how they were created in the first place.

4) (Both the regular file and the alpha file.)

5) Create / Edit the files in Photoshop. Either making it the original size or 2X.

6) Use fshED to import my .bmp or .tga.

7) Repack with gfxpak.

-

Hope that helps.

i don't use eagraph except for viewing .fsh files inside of a .big file. for importing and exporting i use bigGUI, much easier to use. here's how i do it

1) open bigGUI and export the .fsh files you want to mod

2) open the .fsh file using nfhstool (nfshtool creates a folder that you can go in to and see all the files inside the .fsh)

3) open the folder that was created by nfshtool and you will see all the bmp files. if you already have the shoes you want to add to the uni, make a copy of the bmp and place it in that folder. delete the old shoe (usually 0023 or 0024 in the folder) and rename the shoe you want to whatever the file name was for the old shoe (usually 0023 or 0024).

4) click on the index file in the folder and it will update the .fsh. if everything went ok, it will say "Conversion performed successfully. Press enter to exit". if it was not ok, it will say "Unsuccessful termination. See README.TXT for more details".

5) if it was successful, go on to step 6. if unsuccessful, check the size of the new shoe and see if it was the same size as the old one (1x). if it was a different size (2x, 2xlite), you will have to right-click on the index file and open with notepad to update the size. scroll down until you find the line that begins with "shoe". it should be pretty close to the bottom as it goes in numerical order. it will look something like this

shoe 0023.BMP

BMP 78 +2 128 64 {0 0 0 0}

ETXT 69 64 16 {0 0 0 0}

EAGL64%20metal%20bin%20attachment%20for%20runtime%20texture%20management%00%00%00%00%00%00

ETXT 70 shoe%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00

on the 2nd line, notice the "128 64". that is the original size (1x). if the new ones are a different size than that, replace the "128 64" with the new size. example - bigbully has a shoe update that the shoes are 2x, so the size is 256 x 128, so you would replace the "128 64" with "256 128".

close notepad and say yes to save the changes. then you would click on index to try the update again. if successful, go to the next step. if not, there is another thing you can do to change the compression, but i'll leave that out for now unless someone needs help with it.

6) once the .fsh is updated, use bigGUI to import the file to models.big, and say yes to overwrite (make a backup copy of the orginal before you overwrite). once it's imported, use bigGUI to recompress the file (it's automatically decompressed when you export it) and that should do it. start the game and check to see if it works. you can also use eagraph to look inside the updated .fsh to see if the changes are there (bigGUI must be closed for you to be able to open models.big in eagraph).

well, that's how i do it and it works fine for me, i never had any luck using eagraph for importing or modding, and to me fshED is useless. you just have to find what works for you. any questions, just let me know.

I'd use fshEd as it is a gui app.

open he fsh, click on the shoe, click on import>new choose your shoe then save then import with eagraph, open the models big and add tar file thingummy
