gordgraff
Hey All I tried searching for an answer to this problem but i couldn't find anything, so if this has already been talked about sorry. I am trying to put the Total Portraits files into my game using EA Graphics Editor, but some of the player IDs don't show up. Take for instance Lou Merloni, who is id#1101. His number won't show up in the EA Graphics Editor, so i then go to MVPedit to put it in, however after i import the rosters from the database folder i see that his id# is in correctly, so then i export the roster back into the game's database folder and then reopened EA Graphics Editor, but his 1101 id number was still not there. I then went back in to MVPedit and tried exporting the roster file just into the data folder of the game, but that didn't work either. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks so much Gord
gordgraff
Please, anyone who can answer this question I've tried everything and can't seem to make the ids update. I am very familiar with doing this from last year's game, so if anything has changed in the procedure of creating id# from last years game please help me out with this. Thanks
big shmooz
First of all, if his number does not show up in the EA graph, the problem is not the ID #. It means you imported the file incorrectly. Try putting the file in again.
gordgraff
I've tried exporting the roster to the database folder, the data folder, the frontend folder, and none of them seem to update the id#s. Am i not supposed to import & export to the data>database folder? Please help
big shmooz
The database folder is the correct place to export the roster to. However your problem is not in the roster, but rather in the portraits. You said that the pics were not showing up in the ea graph. Hence you need to reinstall the portrait files, not the rosters.
gordgraff
When you say reinstall the portrait files, what do you mean? Reinstall the .fsh files in EA Graphics Editor? Reinstall the original portraits.big file from the game CD? Somehow export just the player id# from MVPedit? Its the player ids that aren't showing up, so there isn't a player id#1101 file to import Lou Merloni's portrait to, and all the created id# don't show up as well. Sorry, i had no problems at all last year but i must have been over my head with this. Thanks a ton for helping me with this Big Shmooz, i really appreicate it. gordgraff
Yea, i've tried importing from the database folder, then exporting to the data folder, but that hasn't made it work, the player id#'s aren't showing up in EA Graphics Editor.
Tony3
Do you know there's no default pic or audio for #1101 Lou Merloni? EA didn't officially assign an ID# to Merloni. I did unofficially. Anyway, if you want Merloni's pic to show up, you have to make the pic yourself.
mflv
I have a question regarding the adding of pictures. I would love to have portraits for many of the classic players. Here's my question or problem. I have already done many trades and rearranged many of the teams in Classics. Can I still use the mbe file downloaded from this site? It would seem it would be all messed up because a lot of the players are in different places. Is there a way to generate an mbe file from the game or is there an mbe file somewhere in the game. My understanding is that you have to use mvedit to import new pictures, which I will make myself, and then export into the game but where do you get the mbe file from or what file do you use? I don't want to wind up going back to the default portraits or messing up the game? Which files should I back up before I start messing with all this? Thanks. I'm new at this but I really want to try doing this but I don't want to mess up the game. Thanks.
gordgraff
Yea, i have the pic that was in the Total Portraits file, and that is the one i want to add into the portraits.big file, the problem is when i go into EA Graphics Editor there is no id#1101 for Lou Merloni, despite the fact that i have exported the rosters to the game. I am trying to 'make' an id#1101 but i can't seem to get it in there so EA Graphics Editor recognizes it and displays it. Is there any way someone could walk me through the process of exporting the rosters (my roster shows Lou Merloni's id#1101) to the game correctly so that it makes the new id#s that weren't in the game before, so portraits can be added for those new id# in EA Graphics Editor? I'm dying here trying to figure this out, i don't know what i am doing wrong. I did this all the time last year and had no problems, so perhaps there is something i don't know about in this years version of the game.
