AcousticNut
Just wondering how everyone approaches their 'pre-game' warmups. Do you start a new game cold? Homerun derby? Mini-Games? Couple of innings of exhibition? Crack a cold brew? Just curious. Mine: I play both the hitting and pitching mini-games to get my timing down before facing 'real' batters and pitchers. How do you warm up?
Totte
Good question. I don't really know. I usually head right into the action cold but if I were to have a pre-game warmup, I'd probably play a few innings.

bravesj858
too bad there won't be anymore mvp baseball, a instering thing would be before every game, you have the option of taking bp. mabye each player would have a readiness meter and when it gets full, don't do too much otherwise you may hurt them or get them overworked. another possiblty is getting hurt during bp and having to change your lineup during gametime. and since most pitchers throw in between starts, that could be factored in....also pregame warmups could have been added in. that would have been sweet. vinnycast27
load them game n play, first game usually is a warm up though. still counts to my dyansty not bothered if i lose theres still 120+ games remaining lol
RobAtPace
you guys are nuts... who has time to waste on BP and side bullpen workouts... lol. most of the world works first and plays second.
cybernetic
well i usually check for changes to make to the roster n **** before a game.. and check matchups for starters.. other than that I basically just go into it
JoeRudi26
Good topic. I warm up with about 2 or 3 innings of an exhibition game. I can't really take BP in the mini games because the batting view is different than my dynasty. The option for BP would've been great. Another cool option would have been SOMEHOW to take fielding practice. Maybe the computer would randomly hit the ball in the outfield so you could field the ball without having to go through an exhibition game. If I go in cold, fielding errors are my downfall. endeavor
I Don't have that much free time. same here man. I usually play "cold", although that can hardly be considered cold. Also, I do love home games, BUT, I prefer to hit first for some reason...

cybernetic
i can't even field cuz of my crappy controller.. mid-game it always makes the guy like start walking while I'm moving.. especially to the right in the fielding
JoeRudi26
i can't even field cuz of my crappy controller.. mid-game it always makes the guy like start walking while I'm moving.. especially to the right in the fielding I bought a Logitech Dual Action Gamepad which seems to work pretty good. MY problem is this: When going after a ball in the gap, I have a tendancy to "over run" the ball due to the player's momentum carrying him through. Something I am slowy getting used to. :)
cybernetic
ur lucky then.. I think I have the same controller and the left analog tends to get screwed up at the worst times.. messes up pitching mid-to-late in the game too
Jitter
The batting mini game really messes w/ my timing. If i play that before an actual game I usually strike out quite a few times the first couple innings. I just jump right into the game. i use the "high heat" batting cam. AcousticNut
most of the world works first and plays second. Actually, I work first, spend time with my family second, and play third. But, when I play I like to make sure I'm doing it well... hence the extra 5 minutes of mini-games is worth it for me to 'warm up' prior to taking on the real game. If I don't do the warm-up then I end up spending the first 3 innings just getting my bearings. I can't really take BP in the mini games because the batting view is different than my dynasty. Mine was as well. I modified BattingView1 in the data file to match my Batting View 4 and so now the Hitting Mini-Game uses the same view that I use in game.
