edm Posted May 9, 2005 Share Posted May 9, 2005 It depends. If you set them up with high fastballs (in or away), then the forkball/curveball low. But if you set them up with soft stuff low, then a fastball high and inside can get them to chase too. newsdude477 Posted May 9, 2005 Share Posted May 9, 2005 It's usually a hard tailing slider or a backdoor slider for me. Or sometimes a nice low splitter out of the strike zone. I usually use the splitter if the batter has a hot bottom zone. It all depends how I set them up and what the situation is. In MVP2005, the knuckleball is great when pitching against human players, but the computer catches on to it. Am trying to recreate that slider/curve, that I think it was Kennedy threw. SwinginSoriano Posted May 9, 2005 Share Posted May 9, 2005 Curveball below the zone, if they swing it's either a miss or a groundball. Had a hell of a time with that pitch. I only use the fastball to get some quick strikes, the CPU seems to hit fastballs too well. Anyway, I am a crappy hitter so the CPU tricks me on anything out of the strikezone. I have a Jose Reyes approach at the plate! (When I take, I don't even know if it's really a strike or a ball.) MarlinsFan Posted May 9, 2005 Author Share Posted May 9, 2005 I created one pitcher in my game... So far trying to get 4 good strikeout pitches to go along. So far... 103 mph fastball 99 mph 2-seamer 91 mph forkball(12-6) 94 mph slider(3-9) 84 mph curveball(12-6) Only 5 K's through 8 innings though, however the datafile am using now makes it harder but more realistic. In the past I was able to average about 15k+ every game with pitchers as Burnett and Beckett. Should I take out the 2-seam for the changeup?
