how do you make custom intro movies?

I've been trying to figure this out, too, without success.

I assume that the movies are done using the VP6 codec, but I can't even get them to play outside of the game. Any attempt at saving a movie in VP6 format (with the codec from On2) causes MVP to crash.

I just googled "vp6 codec", and got the link to On2.

However, I can't get the vp6 files to play anywhere, even in On2's player...I suspect that EA is using some proprietary variant on the VP6 codec...

edit: I noticed that NBA Live 2005 has a couple of VP6 videos, as well...but nobody on the NBA-Live.com forums seems to have mentioned them yet...

I downloaded GSpot, hoping it could tell me more about the video, but it didn't recognize it.

For what it's worth, GSpot correctly identified one of the VP6-encoded trailers that I downloaded from On2's site.

I'll keep plugging away, though. What the heck, maybe I'll get lucky.

The video tool only seems to convert from the EA VP6 files to AVI, so you can watch all the movies in Windows Media Player.

Here's a quick how-to (don't type the quotation marks):

1) Unpack the contents of the .RAR file into an easy-to-find directory, like "C:EA VIDEO"

2) Put a VP6 video file in that same directory (for example, take "cameo14.vp6").

3) Open a command prompt (Start -> Run, type "CMD" and press Enter).

4) Navigate to the C:EA VIDEO directory, if you're not already there. (type "CD C:EA VIDEO" at the command prompt).

5) Type "eaconv cameo14.vp6" and press enter.

6) You can close the command prompt window when it's done.

7) You'll now have a file called "cameo14.avi".

You'll still need to have the VP6 decoder installed to view the video in Windows Media Player, though...

I am currently using a intro video mod made by someone in Taiwanese forum, so it is possible to do it. I find it pretty good, so I discard the old one and use it^^

Here's the vid on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_KL39IPH8g

I dun think i should share the download site yet, since i did not get the creator's permission. If anyone needs it I'll ask him.
