Here's a few quick notes that I noticed about the Marlins just off the top of my head (mainly because I'm in the office right now and my rosters are at home). By the way, great job and this is for folks that are looking for "uber-realism":

AAA

Jim Crowell is the closer

Ben Howard is a middle reliever not a starter

Pat Flury is in AAA not AA

Les Walrond is a starter.

AA

Chad Bentz is a middle reliever

Chris Resop is the closer

Nick Ungs is in AA not A

A

I know that this was a probably done to combine all of the Marlins top prospects in A, but for realism the following players do not play for Jupiter (I should know, I actually go to Hammerhead games):

Taylor Tankersley

Jeff Allison (Greensboro)

Jason Vargas (however, if he hasn't already, he's set to be called up from Greensboro any day now)

Kevin Cave is the closer.

Juan Carlos Muniz is actually now an OF with AA (no longer a A pitcher).

Trevor Hutchinson is no longer in the Marlins system.

I posted this earlier in the week in the other thread (when the rosters first came out)

Posted: Tue May 10, 2005 1:51 pm Post subject:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First off great job,

I went through the Cardinals organization (my fave team) quickly and notice a few things for the next release.

Cal Eldred should be a RP (He hasn't started a game in a few years)

Carmen Cali should be a RP (He is Izzy's future replacement)

Chris Gissell should be an SP

Brennan Ryan (A) should be Brendan Ryan

Andy Cavazos (AA) should be an SP & Nick Stocks (A) should be a RP

I also do believe Nerio Rodriguez is no longer on the team. I have to double-check that.

And I couldn't find 1B Billy Becher in any of there minor leagues. I would replace him w/ 1B Mike Ferris

If Nerio Rodriguez is not in system, I would put in SP Eric Haberer as a replacement.

Oh, I don't know if you guys used the Lahman Database or not, but if you did Robinson Cancel & Mike Mahoney (there's two in Lahman's) have Career Stats. Scott Seabol also has career stats (1 AB w/ Yankees in '99)

But in all honestly a great job.

EDIT: Nerio Rodriguez is with Memphis, should be an SP though

ANOTHER EDIT: According to Tony3's ID List, Robinson Cancel has an ID # of 136

didn't Neal and Williams sign with PIT, not COL?

No, the Rockies signed them, Pittsburgh picked up Restovich from the Rockies

Poor, Mike Restovich, he started the season (spring training) w/ Minnesota.

Was waived and then claimed by Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay then signed Alex Sanchez and waived Restovich.

Restovich was then claimed by the Rockies, who just waived him.

Then Pitt claimed him yesterday.

I've been doing my own research on the Cubbies' minor league affiliates, and I have a few questions about some of the guys that I just can't seem to find. Off the top of my head, here are a couple of them (and I've been using this site as my foundation for anybody interested: http://www.mopsquad.com/baseball/teams/cubs/minors.htm )

On the AA Diamond Jaxx Roster:

Dave Crouthers??? who is he???

Grant Johnson??? who is he???

Jason Wylie??? who is he???

Kevin McGlinchy??? who is he???

with Nic Jackson, is he even a regular for the Diamond Jaxx anymore??? I can't seem to find him listed in the rosters or box scores.

Also, it might be a good thing to replace some of these missing identity players that I mentioned with guys like Matt Murton or Bo Flowers, each of which are doing some damage in their respective divisions. Or I suppose I could just create them, which wouldn't be hard.

The A Daytona team looks really nice from what I've researched...a nice mix of regulars and Peiora players...

Anderson Taveres is actually Taverez w/ a "z"

Carlos Marmal is actually Marmol w/ an "o"

Carlos Vasquez??? who is he???

Other than this, these rosters are BAR NONE the most complete, most WELL-ROUNDED group I've yet to play with, and I too say thank you very very very much!!!

David Crouthers is on 40-man roster (He was part of Sosa deal)

RP Kevin McGlinchy is on AAA (was on AA earlier)

I can't find Wylie (but I know he was on the Cubs) HE may be on minor league DL like Crouthers

Jeff Cirillo (Mil) is making over 7 mil when he really makes the minimum

I can see how that happened, it was just barely before the season, they announced he will make $ 316,000, for 2005. He used to make 6.9 Mio for the past 5 years, though

Why was Mariano Rivera's 2 seamer taken off? He throws that pitch sometimes.

And it seems like other pitchers in the league are missing pitches.

Thanks...Amazing rosters though. Those are my only inqueries.

Grant Johnson was the Cubs 2nd round draft pick last year, and ranked #9 by Baseball America for prospects.

That's right...I forgot about G. Johnson...he'll probably be with the Boise Hawks this summer then, which will be nice cause I'll be in Boise all summer. Thanks for the heads up.

A lot of the prospects that are in the Ultimate Roster are still in extended spring training or will begin the season in the rookie leagues that haven't started yet. Extended spring is over mid june and then more of these prospects will begin to appear throughout minor league organizations.

Ichiro should have glove #2
Do you mean in MVP Edit # 2? That would be brown. I saw Ichiro "live" @ Anaheim, he has a black glove. 100 % for sure, as I know his assistant as well, and seen his equipment.

Couple of quick O's fixes --

Todd Williams and Steve Reed have their deliveries mixed up. Willimas should be style 9 and Reed style 10

Brian Roberts and Luis Matos should both have low socks.

Everything else looks great, awesome job guys!

Cubs (AA) Pitcher Jae Kuk Ryu has a problem, he has two changeups in his repitoire. One of them needs to be change to a curveball. I made the mistake of not seeing the problem in the beta version that I had.
