One other thing i think deserves some consideration is knocking off a team like The Marlins or the D-Rays and putting in an all time Negro leagues team.

agreed, but not completely knocking them off. there are notable players for both of organizations, some even still playing that should be there. marlins have two world series, and alot of those guys should be there starting at the mlb level instead of buried in the AA club. again, sheffield is one of those guys that could go to several teams, and doesn't really have one true affiliate. he's a marlin to me because of the WS ring. and guys like beckett and penny are there for me too because of that and the fact that their other teams have rich histories of players in their positions. we don't wanna completely eliminate one organization. i mean there are florida and some tampa bay fans out there.

yeah, thats been in the talks. my personal take is they should be on the team they made a name for themselves. for instance, bonds is an obvious giant. randy johnson made a name for himself in seattle and arizona. being a seattle fan i'd put him on that roster, but realistically he became a HOF'er in arizona. then there's curt schilling, who could just as easily be on the sox, the astros, the phillies, or the diamondbacks. again, i'd put him in arizone because of the world series, and because of the fact that arizona doesn't have a huge history and the other teams do. roger clemens, he's a red sox guy to me regardless. that's where he was at his best. how about some more not so obvious ones: jeff nelson. could be a yankee or a mariner. he would probably personally choose yankee. how about dave winfield? could almost go anywhere, but again i'd put him in san diego because new york is rich in outfielders in their history.

simply put, boggs is a red sock. the only other team you could argue for him would be the yankees because of the ring, but he's still a HOF'er as a red sock. tampa bay's going to have to be one of those organizations i mentioned earlier, where we will just have to use a lot more negro leagues and japanese players.

but regardless, there should be no repeats, meaning no jose canseco on the a's, red sox, blue jays, yankees, nationals, devil rays, AND rangers. but i think JP has been keeping true to this already.

I didn't want to open that whole can of worms i was just saying that thats the way my excel spreadsheet was gonna look. Personally i think there are some players who could be on two teams. Roger Clemens of Boston was a fire balling youngster who threw 100mph and wasn't scared of anyone. Roger Clemens of the Yankees was a more crafty veteran whose game was built around the splitter and a well aimed lower 90s fastball. He also looked completely different and acted completely different. I have no clue i just wanted to inform u that was how my spreadsheet was gonna be,

And in regard to the Negro Leuages i dont want to sound like im puttign anyone down but tampahasnt really had any players worth note as of yet the negro leuges probably have hudreds or even thousands

i'm not disagreeing there. but tampa...kazmir, and crawford are pretty much the guys i'm referring to....it's only two guys from today's game, you can possibly argue more, but i think they should be on the roster somewhere. they're by no means all time greats, but we'd want to get a mix of all time greats with some notable current players too. like i said before, teams like this would be mostly comprised of negro leagues and japanese players. but again, these are just ideas.

and that's cool, always that we include today stars like Johnny Damon, but if we are going to consider that SS from the bench in Tampa Bay... I think we have to simply put the best 100 players for each franchise (that will include lots of today ballplayers who are real stars)

30 franchises

100 players each

3000 player?

are they 3000 great players in the history of baseball?

Id be happy to put together a set of old style Unis or some kind of special All time uni for each team (with some sort of patch on the sleeve or on the chest or somewhere to denote that this is an all time team). Maybye a nicely done uni from that teams best years or something. Ill try to post a few preliminary images with different options. Ill also work on accessories try and get a good bit of selection as far as different shoes and batting gloves from different time periods. If you want specific unis ask and ill put em together.

1B. Richie Sexson

2B.Bret Boone or Jose Lopez

can someone help me on the last to starting pitches? thanks

no worries, we'll get the rosters done. i'm putting together the mariners roster. keep in mind we're doing ML, AAA, AA, and A teams. you haven't gone far enough back in history for your lineup. sexson doesn't belong in seattle in an all time roster, nor does carlos guillien.

I looked around a little at older style shoes and i got the idea for these off a 1908 Cy Young Photo. They are a work in progress i have to fix the laces and try to work out a bit more of that shine but this is the general idea i got from looking through old photos. I'll probably do this shoe in several natural leather colors. and insert some dirtyness and wear to make it look less bright and new.

This is a very raw idea of what i was thinking of doing for Unis. This would be a shoulder ither a Shoulder patch or a small patch on the front of the uni. This is by no meas finished but something with his idea is what i had in mind.

Any feedback would be appreciated

or maybe we could just add it to the overlay?

think you're gonna need to recruit some help with the unis?

Adding to the overlay is a great idea.

And i might need some help i dont know yet ill try and work through a complete uni today and make a template to work from. Ill see how long that takes me and if its gonna take to long ill try to get some help on em. Ill work on this patch a little two i think we should put something on the unis but im not sure exactly what yet

Wow, I finish up matching the portraits to the TC numbers and look what happens...

Anyway, I've got all of the portraits matched up so that we can now get audio into the game. Now I was going to work on getting some players into the game so that all of the cyberfaces that have been created will have a player to match up with. Also I'm going to work on trading today's players to the teams that they had their best year with so all we have to do is enter in or create the classic players in empty slots.

I had been tryint to think about how to handle the Rockies, Marlins, D'Backs and Rays for awhile now. I had originally thought to simply trade players to those teams who would not fit in on any other roster, assuming that they had done some time on those rosters and leave it at that. However the Negro League possibility hadn't even entered my mind and that might be a great way to fill in those slots.

The Rockies and Marlins might be a little easier to manage because they have a longer history than the D'Backs or the rays.

If you need help finding players for teams go to this site:

http://www.thebaseballpage.com/past/att/default.php

That's what I've been using.

OK, as far as files go, is there some way that we can get some of the files that I've been working on available so that everyone has a common point of reference? I think I would have to make the following available:

bkgnds.big

intstaz.big

logos.big

models.big

portrait.big

stadiums.big

uniforms.big

All-Time.mbe (database from MVPEdit)

config.txt (from MVPEdit so that gloves can be matched up)

The overlay I'm using is Trues MLB Fantasy Overlay with the info bars at the bottom that I'm very happy with as it is a neutral overlay.

I'm not sure who it was who made the offer but yeah, we are going to need an installer for this but I don't think we are ready for that yet. When we get closer to completion and release then we'll be ready for it. When we do make an installer I think we should have the option (like with TC7) to install for Exhibition Play and franchise play, and if it's possible to have franchise play with no trading between teams. That way we don't have the possibility of Ted Williams on the Yankees or Sandy Koufax on the Giants if ya know what I mean.

So, what files are needed from me and how do I get them up. If someone who is in the know can PM me and let me know how and where to upload the files that are needed that would be great.

the guy who offered to make the installer was kraw himself...you know, the guy behind the 06, 07, and soon to be 08 mod? he's a good one to have on your side. you should definitely be coordinating with him behind the scenes. he's been talking about doing his own all time mod that includes some of the all time teams for each organization. but you should collaborate with him as there's no sense in doing both of these, as they are extremely similar.

anyhow, i'll keep whipping out the faces, and i'll get to the mariners roster some time. you might wanna try to ask around for help from uni modders...such as mav3rek...

Thanks, I went back and found his post. I'll send him a PM.

I've got an excel file that I've been using to keep track of what cyberface is where as well as other files I've made use of or planned to use. It's gret to have because I can keep track of what slots are empty and which ones are taken. Would you like a copy, and if so where can I send it?

I can set you up a ftp and space over on eamods.com

I like the idea of a Negro League team, we might want to consider it as a replacement for the D'Rays - maybe. That's assuming we can't get enough players to fill up both Tampa and Arizona.

Here's another thing to consider - the All-Star Teams.

Let's keep them All-Star teams, but make them All-Time All-Star Teams.

I can put together some polls and we can vote for our own All-Time All-Star teams and I can put those two rosters together using the results.
