cubsfaninfla
People wanted Jody Davis to be the Cubs backup C, not some Johnny Kling! On the rockies all time team: Brent Mayne should be replaced by Joe Girardi. Mayne only spent 1 and a half years with the Rockies while Girardi was there for 3 years. On the Reds all time team: HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY PUT TONY PEREZ AS A BACKUP!!! Red Sox: Take off Vern Stephens and replace him w/ John Valentin. Valentin had better stats and played w/ the Sox longer.

We've talked about this... http://www.baseball-reference.com/d/davisjo02.shtml http://www.baseball-reference.com/k/klingjo01.shtml Check it yourself, Kling was better. cubsfaninfla said: On the rockies all time team: Brent Mayne should be replaced by Joe Girardi. Girardi is a better choice. cubsfaninfla said: On the Reds all time team: HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY PUT TONY PEREZ AS A BACKUP!!! Nope. The comma doesn't sepair backups and officials... It's only a way to write the players playing on their primary position. Because (in Reds' case) Tony Perez and Pete Rose bothe are 3B... and both are indispensable... Perhaps Rose will play in OF when Perez play at 3B. Don't worry about the lineup. cubsfaninfla said: Red Sox: Take off Vern Stephens and replace him w/ John Valentin. Valentin had better stats and played w/ the Sox longer. Stephens and Valentin were deleted from the ML team, they will be in the reserves for Red Sox... check my upcoming update. Thanks for your help man. :wtg: I've got to look for more Jody Davis adepts to put him in AT Cubs.

jp_hidalgo
Ok, thanks to the corrections of everybody. Sean Casey and Danny Graves was asked by people. I think Danny Graves can be out. But Casey is good. Frank Robinson is in Orioles because I think the people in Baltimore love him too much. He played his best season there, he won a MVP, and also was MVP in WS. And after all, Reds are awesome without him... I prefer equilibrated teams (talked with Fuzz). Kevin Stocker is out of the D-Rays because Lugo is better. Both played 2 entire seasons... D-Rays All Timers is really hard to do, cuz they don't have real stars... even nice players in some pos. Marlins keep as I said. In Reds...I'm gonna need a 3B if Perez is 1B and Rose OF. Thanks :wtg:

cubsfaninfla
Yes, but did they win a WS with anyother team? No, they didn't Thats what makes them so special to the team It apparently does not register with you (surprise, surprise), that just because you win a WS with a team, doesn't mean they should be on the all time team, Pudge and Fox were on the Marlins for about a combined 1 1/2 years. How does that make them as one of the all time greatest Marlins. To be on an all-time team, you should have at least 6 years of playing with that team (except for expansion teams from 1993-present, where you could probably put someone on an all-time team who had 3-4 years of service time with that team.) Krawhitham said: Casey and Graves should not even be close to this list. -Ok, Casey and Graves go. Krawhitham said: Rose also should not be a 3rd, he played 1st, 2nd, OF and 3rd. Krawhitham said: how can you not have Frank Robinson on the team, he is a HOFer and he played more games in Cincinnati than in Baltimore (10 seasons VS 6) -Don't worry, he is in Baltimore, where he has his best season, won a MVP, MVP in WS and broke some records. derf1776
Guys, Quick question. What stats are we using for certain players that had better seasons away from the club that they are on for the ALL-TIME roster. For example, Ken Caminiti - His best year was clearly 1996 with the padres, but he ends up on the Astros b/c of playing time with that club. What stats are you going to use? the 1996 stats or his best season with the Astros?

What stats are you going to use? the 1996 stats or his best season with the Astros? Well, maybe jp will let that slide, even though he was only on the Padres for 4 years. And if they had better stats, it really all depends on how much time they spent with that team. If they only spent 1-2 years with that team, it doesn't count. jp_hidalgo
Well, "the thing" is the next: First of all I want to created equlibrated teams, that's the reason why McGwire is in Cards, Frank Robinson in O's... Caminiti on Padres. Many players has had his best season in a team which he is not an all timer (i.e. Joe Shoeless Jackson). And of course the stats which goes is that one he played in the team where he is an AT. By the way, the three best seasons for Caminiti were in The Padres... that's all. Are we agree?
