packmanuk
I seem to get between 5 and 10 hits a game but never get more than 2 runs. My highest rated speed player is 80 so I can't steal much. I never aim except when i want to hit the ball deep as I don't feel my reflexes are up to it. I do sometimes pre aim though. What can I do to get more runs ? I also find it almost impossible to get the cpu to accept trades. I wish the trading system was more like espn where it showed the interest level of the other team. Any tips on trading ? JoeRudi26
Don't know how much you play, (or on what level) but the key is very simple. Practice. Patience. Learning ALL aspects of the game (bunting, sac hits, working the count to produce base runners) is really what it takes. Can't help you with the trading thing, I keep my rosters up to date as in real life. Good luck! :)
FBlue
Like JoeRudi26 said you need to work on all aspects of the game. What I would do is get rid of a few of those slow guys and get some speed so you can start stealing some bases and manufacturing few runs. Then you can start playing more small ball, bunting and sacrifice hits might not be as fun as smashing them into the stands but before you know it you can be ahead in the game if your successful at it. Also faster guys might be able to get to more balls defensively for you. So that is a added bonus. As for general hitting, every guy hits different. Some guys I pull down, others left or right and others up and in a direction. Heck some guys might do better with out touching the stick. Your just going to have to figure that out and get your timing down. And the computer isn't going to give you a superstar for a minor leaguer. You might have to lose something to get something. Just start making offers and see what you can get.

The system seems to be mindful of money and tallent, is actually one of the more realistic I have seen, I guess. If you are having real trouble trading, turn the fair trades off. It is a bit of a cheat but keep it honest and you can get who you need (A-Rod for Frank Catalanotto just doesn't seem fair now does it?). I never tried to make any moves around the dead-line, I wonder if anyone has? And do you find teams that are out of it more willing to part with big contracts for prospects? As far as hitting goes, JoeRudi26 said it, practice. Man, I was getting my butt kicked on Pro until I figured out how to really aim the ball! UncleMo
Keep it honest and you'll be happy you got whoever you were trying to get. I trade A. Jones for Carl Crawford. This saved me millions and I don't miss Jone's bad bat with great power, and I didn't lose much defense at all. I know this would not exactly work in real life since Andruw can't hit, but it could happen in real life since Andruw would help TB sell tickets and generate excitement in that their team is willing to spend money. Plus the Braves would trade him to save $.
five
since Andruw can't hit That was kind of confusing. You said it would not work in real life and then that it would work in real life. He's not that bad of a hitter, in 9 seasons, he's had 7 seasons with 25+ home runs. He just strikes out a lot.
CizzLark
it used to be the same way with me, out of curiosity what team are you using?

jservice
With fair trades ON. My tip on honest trading... First save the game file before any trades. Then Start looking for the players you what off each team. Start at top of the ratings. Example: STL / A.Pujols - S. Rolen - and so on down the line. When you get a trade that is accepted then try to trade back for the same players. If the CPU keeps your guy and won't give him back, you may think twice about that trade. STOP and Reload your file without saving. If the CPU gives him back to you its a fair trade. Keep going down the list of each team, you will have a long list of want players you can get for your player.

Joepritch2
Brewers Yeah, I've noticed I can't get much going on the ground with these guys, so I keep it simple, if I need a runner moved over, I pray I can bunt, and Lyle, Carlos, and Geoff have to come up big for me to have a fighting chance of scoring runs. You know, just like in real life. :D
Jitter
I am the opposite I dont get alot of hits, but I normally score around 4-5 runs a game on all star. I just played a game where I only had 5 hits, but 3 were homers and I scored 4 runs. What i would do is go do a batting mini game, and pick a guy from your team. Move him around in the box, and see if he has more power closer to the plate, or away from it. To me it seems that most guys have more power if you move back off the plate. You will have to let some strikes go by, but normally you will get at least one good hittable pitch. If I get 2 strikes I normally move back to the standard position. As for trading I find it is more difficult this year, but I have made several trades (prob 15 or so between AAA and MLB). The CPU seems to like 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 deals the only prob is that it can create some holes in your rosters. Another trick is what i call ladder trading. Trade for a guy who you dont really want, but has decent rankings and it a little bit above the guy you have. Then trade him for another guy who is alittle better then another and another etc etc. Eventually you will prob be able to get the guy you want. I was able to build a very solid team through trading and the fantasy draft. Of course my payroll is 140 mil and i am 20mil in debt over half way through the season but its all good I resigned everyone on my team to make them "happy" and most of them have pretty long term deals so if I can get out of the red I should be able to upgrade some stuff to make more money next season. TigersGM
I'm feeling your pain right now, just lost 3 straight games with the Tigers and my last 2 went into extra innings. I'm getting no run support at all. As matter of fact, last game went 10 innings and I got only 1 run in about 14 hits. I also just recently traded to get Tony Womack as well to add some speed and get a better glove out there than Omar Infante at 2nd Base. Probably another thing that would help is if I can belt some more HRs...this is the worst I've done HR wise by June every in any baseball game. I still only have about 7 team HRs (not counting Womack's 3 HRs).
BrooklynStreetz
One trick is to guess what pitch selection your opponant will give you. Example: I have noticed people always try to give Ortiz a high fast ball or changeup in the top blue zone spot trying to avoid his hot spots. Kind of bet it all on that pitch. If they are hitting that spot, they are going for the low, outside corner. Get yourself into their mindset.

I still only have about 7 team HRs (not counting Womack's 3 HRs). Yeah, I'm bordering on the ridiculous right now. Okay, I brought up my pitcher (who I'm doing my dynasty for, I do all his starts) in mid-May, and he's having an excellent year (sub 3.00 ERA) but is 5-5 with about 5 no-decisions in there because of my struggles scoring runs. I've had 2 20 inning games, a 17 inning game, and a 16 inning game, both of the 20 inning games I can thank my defense for, since they saved me at least three times each game. I've had a few big games of 7 or 8 runs, but most games I'm in the 2-3 area, and I've been shut out 3 times over about a 15 game stretch. A little more practice and a bit of slider tweaking to my pitchers is coming up next, since I'm doing better than I should throwing. I'll get this hitting thing down yet. :D
