Zelda55
I know this is kinda lame telling everyone, but what the hell. I pitched a perfect game on All-Star with Pared's sliders at Fenway Park with Bronson Arroyo. It may not be that impressive to some of you, but come on, it's Bronson Arroyo...he's not exactly a 9-inning machine. The thing that really shocked me was that i only used the maximum efficiency on the pitching bar about 5 times in the game (with 2 strikes). still, my stamina was down to 80% by the 3rd inning (which is why i took some of the efficiency bar off), which I thought was the impressive part. baseballfreak08
Good job man. It's cool pitching a good game, ecspecailly with a guy that's not a regular 9-inning guy. Cool :)
endeavor
Yes it is, nice one there. But I love pitching with Arroyo, I like the control I have with him.
Zelda55
speaking of which, i think pared's sliders on all-star are too easy. anyone know of good mvp sliders?
endeavor
speaking of which, i think pared's sliders on all-star are too easy. anyone know of good mvp sliders? Problem with MVP level is the same as last year. Once in MVP the game becomes almost unrealisticly hard. Even when tweaking the sliders. In my experience, it is best to play on ALL-STAR with tough sliders, then anything in MVP. But the biggest thing to me, is the stats, even though let's say 75% of it seems similar, your own team, especially when playing with a weak one, you'll go down in an unrealistic way. Im using my own sliders, that are based on several sliders out there and it has worked best for me. The stats are realistic, and I always have a good challenge, even though it seemed I cruised through the playoffs, I dare say I have gotten really good, and it was by no means "easy" at all. And it never really ends, cause you will get good enough, so you'll change to even less contact, etc. In general, sliders are a tricky affair, keep tweaking
cybernetic
I once pitched a perfect game with Sean Douglass.. who was up with the Jays as a long reliever for about half of last year and is playing for Toledo (Tigers' AAA) this year.. and he's not that great of a pitcher-- he has a lot of command issues but he is a strikeout machine. EDIT: This is was in '04 by the wa.
ataris812
I was playing last night with the Cardinals against the D-Backs in my dynasty. Mulder was on the mound, and I had a perfect game through 9. 1/3 innings. Then I blew it and walked Craig Counsel, of all guys. I guess I was distracted by his ridiculous batting stance. Anyways, they bring in a pinch hitter for the pitcher, and I get him to ground into a 6-4-3 double play to end the game. My first no hitter. I was kind of disappointed, since I was so close to a perfect game. You know you take this video game too seriously when you are nervous and your heartbeat is going crazy and your hands get sweaty when you are on the verge of a perfect game. I hope I'm not the only dork out there that this happens to. EDIT: I play on All-Star mode.
cybernetic
I have yet to throw one in '05 but I threw about 3 in '04 and came within 3 outs twice and 1 out once.. the worst part was that my one hit given up was a solo HR to Johnny Damon which ended up winning the game as I couldn't get anything going with my offense
Jitter
I finally had one on all-star (default sliders) w/ Oliver Perez. He had 18 strikeouts. He has been on a terror for me lately, in the last game he pitched a 2 hitter w/ 17 strikeouts, and the game before that he had 14 k's.
