The Fair Trade System

jservice

Recommended Posts

The Goal… Start making a list of players that you have traded for fairly.

............... Give the Mode of play and season year you are playing in.

Trade Info example:

E.Chavez age 28 5y @ 11.0 for M.Tejada age 28 5y @ 12.0

Negotiations: M.Tejada asking 2y @ 12.0 will not take less money.

But will go 3y @ 12.0

My tips on finding these trades are as follows…

First I save the game file before making any trades. Then start looking for the players I what off each team for my player. I start at top of the ratings for each team and go down the line. When I find a trade that is accepted. I trade back for the same players. If the AI gives him back then it’s a fair trade. Then I trade the players back again and go to payroll to negotiate a new contract with the new player to see what he will take. If for any reason the AI refuses to talk about the contract or keeps my player at the start and won't give him back it’s probably not in my best interest to make that trade. I STOP and reload the file without saving and continue my search. I keep going down the lists of each team until I have a long list of trades to choose from for my player.

Happy hunting

Lyle Overbay and Erubiel Durazo and Derrek Lee can be traded for eachother. Good to know if you want to upgrade your 1B.

Aaron Rowand trades fairly for Alex Sanchez. (Actual Advantage: TB)

Aubrey Huff trades fairly for Raul Ibanez. (Actual Advantage: Seattle :D)

Not sure about salaries, I tested this with my second TB dynasty (no budgets).

Are you using the same fair trade system from 1st post?

I tested using the Fair trade system

A.Rowand-2.80m/A.Sanchez-2.0m (AI keeps Rowand)

D.Lee-7.50m/L.Overbay-600k (AI keeps Lee)

D.Lee-7.50m/E.Durazo-4.70m (AI keeps Lee)

A.Huff/R.Ibanez (AI keeps Huff)

M.Texiera/P.Konerko (AI keeps Texiera)

The each case the teams would not trade back for same players.

If the AI will not give back the player, then the AI feels it got the best deal.

If the AI gives the player back to you then that = A FAIR TRADE.

Please try to use the system - It works.

Hmm... Maybe it's the budget that changes it, in all of the trades I proposed, I could get them back. Oh well. It may also be that I was on the other end, that I was giving away Sanchez, Overbay, and Durazo. All the players the AI kept were the ones I traded for and then back.

Thanks for that info on the prospects! Just a question, though: could you do a fair trade deal with Cliff Floyd of the Mets? If not, that's fine too, but... ;)

Thanks!

Id like to know how Boston has Brandon Moss as a prospect, but not Dustin Pedroia or Kelley Shoppach

Hanley is an obvious one, and I've already promoted him to the big show and have him playing as a CF/SS/2B as my starters get tired

My Boston Red Sox Dynasty, again all fair trades, in mid-May:

C: Jason Varitek and Doug Mirabelli

1B: Derek Lee

2B: Mark Bellhorn

SS: Edgar Renteria

3B: Platoon between Chone Figgins and BJ Upton

LF: Manny Ramirez

CF: Johnny Damon

RF: Ichiro

OF1: Carl Crawford

OF2: Wily Mo Pena

Rotation:

SP1: Curt Schilling

SP2: Jake Peavy

SP3: Matt Clement

SP4: Bronson Arroyo

SP5: Tim Wakefield

Also picked up Osuna from San Diego, promoted Cla Meredith to the mlb, and have Huston Street as my closer in AAA. Oddly, Mark Bellhorn is godlike when I play, mashing 16 homers in mid-May. Very strange.

Anyone sorta feel like they are cheating?

No way, the computer controlled teams are to difficult to trade with anyway so when they do accept a trade I think it's for a good reason.

Just traded SS Jack Wilson to the Royals for SP Zack Greinke. Good trade for both teams since I was stacked at SS and the Royals didn't even have one but hade a lot of SP.

Not so much the fair trades, but just knowing in advance what becomes of the prospects is what I consider cheating. In real life prospects are just that, in this game however prospects are stars in the making.
