Bases Loaded, 0 Outs...... a NY Mets Dynasty!

Lual

I'm not going to get into a whole big bashfest on the guy. All I say is that if he's going to say someone sucks and never wins, maybe he should try and play the game as realistic as Lual does and see how easy it is for him. Nothin' against him.

True, true. Not too many people have the guts to do a dynasty the way Lual has done his. Most people, myself included, would give up or move the play level down.

I totally agree.

It's refreshing to see that Lual doens't win all the time. And it will be even more exciting when he tries to push for that playoff run because of how he is playing right now. :D

I'm rootin' for 'im.

The only thing he forgot to pick up at the trade deadline was some pitching. Any kind of pitching. Starters, releivers, you name it.

Lual, show us your trading block so we can see if you have any deals in the making. :p

i didnt mean that he sucks, i just mean its bad how he puts so much work into it, but he never wins

I think there is a 'fun' factor involved.

You don't have to always win to have fun at what you are doing

Damn straight!

But seriously, no hard feelings crazyfool. Just use your head before you post and just say that someone sucks.

you've broken my heart  -i will have to quit now :p

lol

nice little debate ;) - tbh i will admit, i am struggling. im not the greatest MVP player anyway, but the settings im using are really tough - and i never practiced on these before starting with the Mets

i think someone mentioned the word 'fun' - and thats what im having, and for me thats all that counts.

and tbh, im just hoping i can keep this going into another season - as im currently ranked F and getting Front Office Emails about how poor we are :(

off to play some more.....

the settings your using are very tough, i bet pitchings a handful. i've also noticed a low k count in your reports, plus some era's are rather high.

it seems your not dominating anyone with your pitching, maybe a few trades are in order....get rid of pedro for one, you want a real starter JAMIE MOYER  he'll soon get your era down lol not too sure about the k solution though :?

good luck, and keep up the great work

Game 2: @ Seattle Mariners

If Your Lucks Out....!

cairocele.jpgerrloss.jpg

(Above: Cairo celebrates his solo shot which appeared to have put the Mets on the way to victory, Right: Reyes' overthrow costs the Mets in the 9th.)

A crazy 9th inning cost the Mets a rare win, as they blew a 2-1 lead, by giving up 2 runs with 2 outs.

Cairo had given the Mets the perfect start by hitting a solo shot in the 3rd, as the Mets took a 1 run lead through to the 7th inning. Sexson then tied it on a solo of his own, before the Mets appeared to have grabbed the win by squeezing a run in the 9th on a error.

Things looked even better as Brown picked up 2 quick outs in the 9th. A routine ground ball to Reyes should have signalled the end of the game, alas the SS overthrew the ball and the Mariners got a man on base.

2 doubles later, and the Mariners where leaving the field with a 3-2 win. The Mets couldnt believe what had happened, and the loss is just another dent in their already beaten up season.

Mets Notables:

Hitting:

Cairo - 2/3, 1HR, 1RBI

Kapler - 2/3, 1 Double

Game 3: @ Seattle Mariners

9 Of The Best!

cairog2hr.jpgcastro2rbi.jpg

(Above: Cairo hits his 3rd homer in 2 games against the Mariners, Right: Castro lines up his single which drives in 2.)

Thats better for the Mets, 9 runs and 3 homers, gave the New York club a clutch win to prevent a sweep in Seattle.

Cairo again hit a solo shot in the 3rd to give the Mets the lead, this time though the Mets capitalised on the chance, and drove home their advantage. Firstly Castro drove 2 runs in the 5th, followed by Cairo hitting his 2nd homer of the day, which put the Mets 5-0 up.

Seattle did pull one back thanks to Ichiro, but the Mets carried on their charge, adding 1 more run, before Crawford hit a 3 run shot in the 9th to cap things off 9-1.

Sexson hit a 2 run shot of his own to give the Mariners some comfort. But the Mets made sure of the win thanks to Looper picking up the final out of the game.

Its better than nothing for the Mets, who now head to Philadelphia for 3 games, followed by the last of the Subway Series with 3 games at Yankee Stadium. Pride counts for alot, time for the Mets to show theirs.....

Mets Notables:

Hitting:

Beltran - 3/5

Cairo - 2/4, 2HR, 3RBI

Crawford - 1/5, 1HR, 3RBI

Castro - 1/4, 2RBI

Upcoming Series - 3 Games @ Philadelphia

Game 1: @ Philadelphia Phillies

Washed Up!

carlosbeltran.jpghrwrighty.jpg

(Above: Beltran and Wright go yard, in a game dominated by the Phillies.)

The Phillies racked up 18 hits on their way to a comfortable 7-3 win over the Mets at Citizens Bank Park.

From the first pitch, things didnt look good for the Mets, as Trachsel immediately gave up 3 hits to load the bases on 0 outs. 1 run came home, before Utley went yard with a Grand Slam, to leave the Mets 5-0 down.

Nothing really clicked for the Mets, and they soon trailed 7-0 as Trachsel was pulled after 4.2 innings, giving up 2 home runs in a dismal performance on the mound.

Consolation came in the form of 2 home runs late in the game. Both Beltran and Wright hit solo shots, to help the Mets cut the Phillies lead to 7-3. But there was to be no further heroics, as the Phillies shut the game down with relative ease.

The Mets now trail the Phillies by 15.5 games, and looked doomed to being the cellar boys in the NL East.

Mets Notables:

Hitting:

Reyes - 2/4

Beltran - 2/4, 1HR, 1RBI

Wright - 1/3, 1HR, 1RBI

Game 2 @ Philadelphia Phillies

P-Edro Wooo-ah, P-Edro!

mikerbi.jpgpedroa.jpg

(Above: Cameron drives in a key run, Right: Pedro pitched 8 solid innings, on his way to win number 4.)

Pedro Martinez came out on top for just the 4th time this season, as he pitched through 8 innings, giving up just 2 runs, and racking up 5Ks.

The Mets had trailed 2-0, but a 3 run 5th inning, enabled the visitors to get on top, and take a lead they refused to relinquish. Cameron, Beltran and Mientkiewicz all drove in the runs in the visitors comeback.

Reyes proved to be clutch for the Mets as he went 3/5 and crossed home plate on each occasion he got on base.

Looper then came into save the Mets, not without a scare though. He walked 2 batters with 2 outs, before finally forcing Utley to ground out to short, giving the Mets a hard-earned victory over the Phillies.

Tomorrows Rubber Match, should be alot more interesting after the Mets showed some spirit in todays win.

Mets Notables:

Hitting:

Reyes - 3/5, 1 Double

Cameron, Beltran & Mientkiewicz - 1RBI

Pitching:

Martinez - 8I 7H 2R 2ER 5K 2HR 4.62era (4-9)

Game 3: @ Philadelphia Phillies

Mets Unlucky!

rbicamer.jpgpizzatime.jpg

(Above: Mike Cameron started the Mets comeback, before Right: Piazza appeared to have won the game for the Mets.)

The fans got their moneys worth in todays game, as they witnessed 10 innings of drama, comebacks, home runs and despair, as the hosts clinched a 6-5 win, with a walk off homer by Polcano in the 10th.

The Phillies appeared to have won the game early on, as they lead 4-0 after 2 innings of play. The Mets had other ideas, a 4 run burst in the 6th tied things up. And then in the top of the 7th, the Mets took the lead for the first time as Piazza drove in his 2nd run of the game.

Alas, Glavine couldnt hold onto things, as he gave up a solo homer to Bell with his first pitch of the inning. Fortunato came in to see out the inning, and pitched cleanly to hold the game at 5-5.

The Mets then blew their chance, bases loaded 0 outs in the 8th, and 2 men on 0 outs in the 9th, yielded 0 runs for the visitors, and put the Phillies back into the driving seat.

They took their chance in the 10th, as Polcano blasted a walkoff homer, deep to center, leaving the Mets empty handed even though they amassed 17 hits in the game.

No time to rue missed chances though, straight back to New York to face the Yankees at Yankee Stadium, in the final Subway Series of 2005.

Mets Notables:

Hitting:

Mientkiewicz - 3/5, 2RBI

Beltran - 3/5, 1 Double

Cameron - 2/5, 1RBI

Piazza - 2/4, 2RBI

Reyes - 2/5, 1 Double

Crawford - 2/5

Pitching:

Fortunato - L (1-1)
