Spivey11
Alright guys. I got bored with my other dynasty so I figured that I would try and do one with the real Atlanta Braves. Let's hope that this one can keep my interest for more than a couple of weeks. Here's a quick rundown of the team. Batting Order and Bench: SS R. Furcal 3B W. Betemit 2B M. Giles C E. Perez 3B C. Jones LF R. Langerhans (LF w/ DH) CF A. Jones 1B J. Franco (DH vs. RHP) C J. Estrada 2B P. Orr 1B A. LaRoche RF R. Mondesi LF B. Jordan P (J. Smoltz) Pitching Rotation and Relievers: SP J. Smoltz LRP J. Sosa SP M. Hampton LRP A. Bernero (demoted Powell to AAA) SP T. Hudson MRP R. Colon SP H. Ramirez MRP T. Martin SP J. Thomson MRP K. Gryboski SU C. Reitsma CP O. Dotel (traded Kolb to Oak) I think that I'm going to try and get rid of Kolb. I just don't know if anyone will take him, . EDIT: I had to restart this dynasty, the new one starts on page 3 and goes on from there, thanks!
Stix
I'd switch Estrada and LaRoche. Thats what I did in my dynasty and it worked out well. I'm sure it doesn't make much of a difference. As far as Kolb goes, unless you're sure you're getting a better deal, don't trade him. He's ok in the game. FYI: If you want realistic rosters, Powell was released by the Braves. Spivey11
Well, looks like I found a sucker that took him!! I traded Dan Kolb to Oakland for Octavio Dotel. Looks like I'm ready to begin my year!
Spivey11
FYI: If you want realistic rosters, Powell was released by the Braves. Ok, I sent Powell down to Richmond and pulled Bernero up to my major league team.
Rush2112
Hey man, i got a braves dynasty going also with the real roster. What i do though is i play a game a day along with the braves real schedule. This way i dont get sick of it, cause i have your problem, play a whole bunch of games, two weeks later sick of it and delete it and start a new one. Anyways i wouldnt trade Kolb in the game. In real life i would trade him for a bag of balls...but in the game hes been lights out for me cause of that cutter he has. I play on All-Star/MVP mostly MVP lately as i was winning too much on all-star. So my settings now are MVP with default slides and i used Rev's MLB-AA rosters. My record is 23-13 and Kolb is 1-0 with 13 saves and an ERA of 0.60. Once you catch up in the schedule to the current date playing one game a day might not be your thing, but it certainly is holding my intrest as some nights i have great games and CANT WAIT to the next night to play the next. Really man i havent been this much into any season i started in any game.

Rush2112
Should of added this in to my last post so sorry for making two like this....... one downside and in my case its a big one.... so playing a game a day is if someone gets hurt you are without them for quite some time if its a long injury..... for me i lost Smoltz for 54 days like 3-4 days ago. So he is out of my rotation for almost 2 months... in real time So Kyle Davies has been called up and will make his first major league start in the coming days. I told myself if i lost anyone for the season i wouldnt take it..... 54 days aint the season so i took it, makes it interesting though to say the least. In this case lets hope art doesnt imitate life.

Hey as long as it works out for you in your season thats all that matters. Keep us posted man.
Spivey11
Opening Day: Atlanta Braves vs. Florida Marlins The Atlanta Braves started off the year right with a 2-1 win over the Florida Marlins. Todays game pitted John Smoltz against Josh Beckett - both pitched a very good game, each pitcher going seven strong innings. (Above: Estrada's homer in the top of the 2nd. Right: Furcal saves two runs with a diving catch) Estrada hit his first homer of the season to give the Braves a 1-0 lead in the second inning. John Smoltz helped himself out in the second with a run scoring single driving in Brian Jordan. Mike Lowell also hit his first homer of the season in the second innings off of John Smoltz to give the Marlins their only run of the game. This was a classic opening day game with both pitchers proving that they are the aces of their respective ball clubs. Octavio Dotel, the Braves off-season acquisition at closer, picked up right where Smoltz left off last season pitching a perfect inning en route to his first save of the year. Hitting Notables - J. Estrada: 1-3, 1 HR, 1 RBI Pitching Notables - J. Smoltz: 1-0, 7 IP, 6 H, 7 SO, 1.29 ERA
Stix
In my dynasty Kolb is like (1-1) 3.60 10 saves in 14 appearences.
Rush2112
His cutter man is deadly. To lefties i throw it just off the plate inside mostly, let them jam themselves, and to righties i throw it to the low outside corner or just off it and get them fishin at it. Of course though hitters gotta be set up for it but i've been fortunate enough to be able to and hes been light outs. Good win though to start the year, its tough facing the Marlins in the first three games with the three quality pitchers they throw at you. Nice to see Dotel getting it done in his Atlanta debut. Spivey11
Game 2: Atlanta Braves vs. Florida Marlins Braves win: 5-0, improve to 2-0 on the season (Above: Giles' 2-run homer in the 1st. Right: Furcal legs out double in the 3rd) The second game of the Braves-Marlins series was one sided in favor of the Braves. Mike Hampton 3-hit the Marlins on his way to a complete game shoutout. While Al Lieter gave up 5 runs on 13 hits. Marcus Giles lead off the scoring for the Braves in the bottom of the first innings with a two-run homer off of Lieter. Then, in the sixth, Rafeal Furcal and Chipper Jones each had RBI singles to increase the score to 4-0. Finally, to top off his great outing, Hampton drove in the final run for the Braves in the ninth innning. Spivey11
Game 3: Atlanta Braves vs. Florida Marlins Bring Out Your Brooms! (Above: Franco hits go ahead homer in 8th. Right: Giles makes a fantastic play up the middle.) Alright Braves fans, get your broom because your Atlanta Braves swept the Florida Marlins in their season opening series by a score of 6-2! The final game of this series put Tim Hudson on the bump for the Braves and A. J. Burnett for the Marlins. This game truely showed the Braves' heart, as they trailed for 7 innings until Julio Franco hit a pinch hit 2 run homer off of Antonio Alfonseca. After that, things got a bit ugly with Raul Mondesi hitting his first homer of the year off of Guillermo Mota in the 9th. The Marlins struck first blood in the 1st with a RBI double by Miguel Cabrera, driving in Juan Pierre who lead off the game with a single up the middle. The Braves then tied the game in the 3rd with a Mondesi single to left, driving in Johnny Estrada. The Marlins quickly haulted the Braves' 'rally' with Carlos Delgado driving in Luis Castillo in the bottom of the 3rd. Things were looking dismal for the Braves until Brian Jordan lead off the 8th inning with a single. This brought up the pitcher's spot in the order and Franco was put in to hit for Mulder. Franco then proceeded to hit a homer to left to put the Braves up 3-2. In the 9th, Mondesi provided a little breathing room with a 3 run homer to give the Braves the win and sweep 6-2. Spivey11
Game 1: New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves Braves Suffer 1st Loss of the Season (Above: Carlos Beltran slides to avoid tag. Right: Braves stunned at first loss.) Well Braves fans, the Braves were handed their first loss of the season in their first game of the year against the New York Mets. Horacio Ramirez started the game tonight for the Braves while Carlos Zambrano started for the Mets. The Braves drew first blood in tonight's pitchers dual in the 6th inning. Andruw Jones drove in Rafael Furcal with a single to left field to put the Braves up 1-0. Everyone thought that this was going to be enough to win, but they were wrong. In the 9th, Octavio Dotel was brought in to close out the game. But he gave up a game tying single to pinch hitter Eric Valent to bring the Mets even with the Braves 1-1. Dotel didn't show that anything was wrong so Bobby Cox left him in the game to pitch the 10th. This would prove to be a costly mistake. Dotel gave up 3 runs on 3 hits in the 10th to put the Mets ahead 4-1, starting off with a solo homer by Cliff Floyd. The Braves were unable to get anything going in the bottom of the 10th, with Braden Looper sitting the bottom of the order down 1-2-3. With this loss, the Braves are now 3-1 on the year and the Mets are 4-0. Spivey11
What is this code thing? It's just an easier way to show something in which you will need a couple different things to be lined up in a row. The way the forum is set up, no matter how many spaces you put in - only one will show up. If you type it with the *code* as many as you could possibly want will appear.
