$290 for the 6800? Are you going to be paying retail price (or in store somewhere?)? I linked it for $199 after rebate. I would highly suggest buying it online through Newegg--they're one of the best online retailers.

And yes, there will be a noticable difference between the 6800 and the 6600GT. The 6800 has 4 more rendering pipelines and 256 bit memory (as opposed to 128 bit). And if you do some research, you can softmod this card and unlock pipelines and shaders to get it to the 6800GT level which is a ~$300 card.

Ok, I got you now. I thought this whole time you meant the GT, my bad. And yes, I do see it for $199 post-rebate.

Actually I did mean the GT. Since that is what my friend has. It's a very nice card.

Can you possibly post a link of the 6800GT for $199 after rebate?? I can't seem to find one that inexpensive.

One more thing, I have made my decision on which chipset to buy, the 6600GT, but I don't know which company to go with, XFX, MSI, Leadtek. Which is the best, or does it not really matter?
