greenawayj
It's only my Day #2 with MVP05 but I noticed what I think is a glitch last night while I playe around with a game in Dynasty mode. I had a middle releiver get injured in the middle of a game. No problem--subbed someone else. Injury was only shin spints for two games. He shows on the injury list as 'on the bench--2 days" But I don't want to be short a long releiver for those two games, so I assumed I could send him down to AAA or AA for a few days and bring up someone else. But the game wouldn't show the injured player on my call up / send down screens. My only options were to keep him injured on the bench or drop him to the 15 day DL (which wasn't necessary given the length of his injury. Anyone else notice this. Is it supposed to work this way??? nittanylionfan3
Come on man, 2 days without a reliever shouldn't hurt that much, BTW how many relievers do you have.
billjames
Yes, it is supposed to work this way. You can not send a player down who is injured without placing him on the DL. And like the previous poster said, it's only two games. If you can't go that many games without using him when you have 5-6 other relievers, then I don't know what to say. nittanylionfan3
You should have at least six relievers, and you probably should have starters who can go six innings, thus you could easily survive through the two days, and if you lose, who cares, its not like the wild card race, and if you lose you sit until next year. greenawayj
Thanks for the answers. I agree that this situation in particular wasn't a critical move for the year. It was more of a theoretical "Is it supposed to work this way?" question. I'm pretty familiar with a lot of the real MLB rules regarding DL, call ups, and send downs and I hadn't heard of limitations in this situation. Thanks. cybernetic
well the technically the guy is still active but is unusable (injured).. it's like when a starter is injured and has to miss a start but won't be missing enough to place him on the DL so u have to spot start someone else (usually one of the long relievers) or use the bullpen differently to make up for it.. usually I have 14 bench players and 11 pitchers.. usually u wont use the same relievers 2 days in a row anyways unless they're your setup guys/closers and/or they only had very brief appearance or it's absolutely necessary so just shift around your bullpen to make up for the loss for 2 days
Texasrangers13
You must be on the DL in order to have the roster space...
