Problems at Wrigley

I haven't played at this stadium much and decided to play an exhibition game with the Cubs. I am having a problem with the ball disappearing whenever I am at bat. What happens is that just about every 3rd or 4th pitch to me will become invisible until it has crossed the plate, then I can see the ball again. This is a really big irritation, especially in a tight count situation. I have tried different batter views and it doesn't make a difference. I also have True's stadium mod installed, but I reinstalled the default stadium and it doesn't make a difference either.

After some testing at several other stadiums, I have only seen this happen at Wrigley. Anybody else seen this?

It's the ghost of Steve Bartman. That dude is everywhere.

Seriously though, I've seen some strange things happen, but not that one. For some reason my catcher, and my guys in the bullpen are "blacked out" every now and then.

Can't figure that one out either. :?

I am pretty much running an out of the box installation except for a datafile/roster mod (i.e. - no stadium mods). I will try out a game tonight at Wrigley and see if I experience anything unusual and post my response tonight/tomorrow (if no one has responded before then).

This actually happens at Wrigley Field. It's why they haven't won a world series in 100 years.

Hardy-Har-Har.....as Jackie Gleason used to say!

Tell you the truth, I forget who the pitcher was. Whoever the default starter is for the Cubs in Exhibition mode using Ultimate Rosters v2.2. I'm at work now, but I'll check it out tonight.

Another thing this guy would occasionally do is pitch the ball, but it would end up more like a high-arc softball pitch, and die half-way to the plate. The ball would then roll across the plate to the catcher. Dumbest thing I ever saw.:lol:

Ok, thanks mustang. What speed should that 2-seamer be at?

EZ swing at those lob pitches that bounce/roll to the plate. If it's like last years version, you can actually hit those a long way. Weird, I know...try it.

Good luck finding your fix!

I had man on first and second, hit a foul pop down the left field line, my runner's went into their homerun trot (I panicked cause I couldn't control them), no fielder got to the ball, one runner crosses the plate, the other ends up at third. No out recorded, no run scored, no change in the count. Go figure! I was playing at the Royal's stadium, by the way.
