gordgraff
Hey all When i make a new player id#, and export it to the game, the id# doesn't appear in the portrait.big file when i open it in EA Graphics Editor. Can someone help me with this? I am exporting to the datadatabase folder, and all changes i make in MVPedit show up in the game perfectly. Could it be that, while exporting to the datadatabase folder MVPedit can't update the portrait.big file because it is up a directory level? Anyone with experience on putting new .fsh files into the game could really help me here i think, please do!
Jim825
Nope. The ID will not show up in the portrait.big file until you actually assign a portrait to it (i.e. it doesn't put an empty placeholder there). Convert your .fsh file to a .bmp file and import it into your roster using MVPEdit. I posted in another thread how you can convert .fsh files to .bmp format using the IrfanView utility. gordgraff
Ah, ok. Thank you for that clarification...was that changed from last year? I seem to remember it making a blank placeholder last year. Could you direct me to that thread? I have my .fsh file all ready to go, having created it using NFSHtool, is there a way i could just import that .fsh file into portrait.big? Jim825
My post was a response to another thread that YOU started about an hour ago. Here's the link: http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Foru...&highlight=. For some reason, I couldn't get portraits loaded properly this year using eagraph. I found that only MVPEdit works for me, and MVPEdit only imports .bmp files, so you have to convert it first. Here's what I do: 1. Using IrfanView (with the .fsh plugin), open up the .fsh file. 2. Press the "S" key (for save), and enter a filename (it defaults to .bmp format). 3. Startup MVPEdit, open up your roster and go to your player. 4. Click on the "no picture found" text and an "Update Photo" dialog appears. 5. Click on "New picture", select the portrait you want to import and then click "OK". Your portrait is now added to the portrait.big file and should appear in both MVPEdit and the game.
ExecutedShadow
Where can I get this MVP Edit?
gordgraff
Hey Jim Thanks for your reply, i really appreciate it. I did post twice before MarktheYankee directed me to forum rules... For some reason my MVPedit doesn't show the photo, and when i click on the photo no dialoge appears. When i go to the options, it give me a run-time error '68', device unavailable. Have you had this problem before?
Jim825
I've had a "runtime error 53" appear if I've got too many other programs running in the background. Usually, I just reboot my PC and then only bring up MVPEdit. You may want to search the forums to see if others have experienced the same error you did.
