How to install rosters?

I wanna download "Ultimate Rosters 2.3", but don't know how to do it. I see it says you have to "Open the file in MVPEdit and export the DAT files to your mvp2005/data/database folder"

What is MVPEdit and where can I get it?

OK, downloaded and installed. Now, when I try to run the program I get an error that says "Component 'TABCTL32.OCX' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid".

That's all greek to me man. I don't see where it says how to import them into the game or anything. Anyone can give me a step-by-step?

Where should I have the .mbe file that I downloaded at and what do I do with it???

in MVPedit, click on "Open", then find the .mbe file you saved and open it. once you have it opened, you can edit it if you wish, but if you don't want to change anything, click on "Export", and make sure you put it in the MVP Baseball 2005/data/database folder. make sure you double click on "database" so that you see the folder open. then click "ok" and say yes to overwrite existing file. then open the game and it will be your default roster.

i tried that but mine wont load the game in

it loads half way and stops

Just a thought, I might be wrong about this but navigate in windows explorer to the database folder inside your data folder which is in the main mvp 2005 folder & see if your files are set there as read only. I don't think it should make a difference, but you never know. If it is, uncheck the "read only" (the way to do this is by right clicking on the files themselves inside & then clicking on "properties". There you will see if the read only is checked. If it is, uncheck it. Do this will all the files inside there that end with .dat . If you are not sure which are .dat files because your settings do not show file extensions, just do it to all the files in that folder. Actually it is easier if you just right click on the database folder itself & follow the above instructions)

what do you mean it only loads half way and stops? it only loads half way from MVPedit, or in the game? if it's in the game, does it crash? where are you at in the game (rosters, loading a game, etc)?

Hmm... good point. He may be referring to the game itself, not the rosters.
