emeyekayiee
id like to mess around with my audio files (at my own risk), could you answer some questions? for the PA announcer, all the files include the first and last names right? and for the PlayByPlay, i assume the xxxC.hdr files are the full names with first and last announced, but what is the difference between the xxxA.hdr and the xxxD.hdr files? also, i wanted to thank you for all the work youve put in to making all the portraits and finding the audio files. YOU THE MAN!
UncleMo
who is actually announcing, i mean is it your voice recorded or is it the announcer's voice?

YOU THE MAN! yes the PA annoucer is the full name, however I havent't included the pa audio in the easy install version as I have only done 5 names so far which doesn't really justify an extra 28mb .big file in the download as Tony3 found in this thread xxxxc.dat is used by Kuiper for fullname calling situations such as: 1. stepping in Barry Bonds 2. up next Barry Bonds 3. the next batter is Barry Bonds 4. next at the plate Barry Bonds 5. next stop Barry Bonds xxxxd.dat is used also by Kuiper for last name calling only such as: 1. Bonds steps into batter's box 2. Bonds comes to the plate 3. Bonds steps at the plate 4. Bonds makes his way to the plate 5. Bonds is next xxxxa.dat is probably used by Krukow mentioning someone at bat (last name of course)
Tony3
Oh boy, that is just my judgment, don't take it too seriously  I haven't tested them all! Great job!!! Hory.
sfgiantsflgators
from another thread: You're right, 1572d.dat is "Brown", but 1572a.dat is "Buck", no idea why, probably just a mistake, as my list shows #1571 is for "Jeremy Brown". http://www.mvpmods.com/modules.php?name=Do...er_ID#dldetails i'm sure you got this passed to you already but in case you didn't here's a mistake on John Buck's audio. it's fine when they are announcing his name but it's when he puts the ball in play that his name changes to "brown". thanks to Tony3 for having the knowledge to figure it out. hope this helps
Hory
Thanks to the discovery in the other thread about decoding the EA asf/dat files to wave I can now construct full names of created players and import them into the game so far I've done quite a few including Kevin Millar, Pete Walker, Ian Stewart, Aaron Hill, Felix Hernandez also I have fixed EA's Buck-Brown last name bug avngres220 found. sfgiantsflgators
i don't know if this is part of this project or if i did something: when i played a game today (after installing 0.2) Kuip was about ready to announce the entrance of my new pitcher, Jaime Cerda (Royals), when he just stopped mid-sentence and didn't say his name. he's done it before so i was wondering if something got switched around in this update or if i possibly installed them wrong and his name is now omitted. in related news, is it possible to import more than 12 .dat's at once into bigGUI? it would let me do less but if i tried to import more than 12 (i.e., the whole .dat folder in your .rar file) nothing would happen. it would sure make it a quicker install...but, of course, that's not a life threatening problem  thanks for your help so far and in the future 8)
Hory
I'm not sure what's gone wrong, that name is spoken correctly in my game and Cerda(1594) is not included at all in the update, but I'll check it again to be sure. Yes, I can only get bigGUI to import about 18 max at a time, part of the reason I released the .big file version, I'm sure other programs could be used to import the .dat and hdr files but I haven't really had time to try them out. sfgiantsflgators
it's completely reasonable to assume i did something when i installed it the "long" way. i used the easy install last time but i showed up to the site before that one got uploaded this time and got the other version. i'll go back and do it the easy install way and play another game tonight or tomorrow and see if that fixes it. :edit: someday i'll stop asking questions in the easy install readme it lists 2 files to extract (pnamehdr.big and pnamedat.big) but only pnamehdr.big is there. that on purpose? thanks. bill
Great job Hory, a little question though. Chien Ming Wang's audio says "Wang" but his name is pronounced "Wong" in real life. Is there a way to fix that?
Hory
oh, ok I didn't realise it was pronounced 'wong', I created his name using parts of "Wayne" and "Jang" so I'll redo it using "Womack" and "Bong" to get 'wong' avngres220 - Huh? there's two big files in the easy install... pnamehdr.big and pnamedat.big... the pa audio isnt included in the easy install version pnamehdr goes in data/audio/spch_pbp pnamedat in data/audio/cd/spch_pbp
sfgiantsflgators
hrmm...i've extracted it twice and there is just a readme and pnamehdr.big... edit: heh, this just isn't my day...damndest thing i've seen. i tried it again and still only one so i said what the hell and i downloaded it again. this time however it took longer which i deduced as for some reason it didn't download the whole file last time. after downloading it again both are there. man, screw this day, i'm goin to bed :x
Tony3
My suggestion: Import the .dat and .hdr with "EAgraph" instead of BigGUI, causing some audio mess with BigGUI based on my past experiment. And EAgraph can do multiple imports as well. btw, the 1858c and 1858d of Justin Miller must be switched as an error on EA's part.
myk13
i was playing in my padre dynasty and the announcers did not sean burroughs. The PA announcers will say burroughs but the announcers will just say stepping up to the plate....then dead silence.
Hory
hmm, it does that for me as well and I havent even touched his audio what version wer you using? easy install or install the audio yourself? perhaps bigGUI is do strange things to the big, I'll reinstall the audios to a clean with EA Graphics Editor and see what happens
