jpup,

I will try your sliders and let you know. The big thing with me is i want to see cpu steals . You stated your steal slider at 0 gives a good amount. I had heard that rod's V3 he had lowered the stealing and it was noticeable .

I will let you know. You get a good amount ?

I've been using your sliders and I like them. I've had mostly low scoring games in All-Star mode (1-0, 4-1, 3-1, etc.), some I've won and some I've lost. There do seem to be fewer steals using Rod's v3 datafile than when I was using chuk's datafile. I've only seen one steal (a steal of 3rd base by Pokey Reese of Boston).

I haven't hit any homeruns in All Star mode yet with these, so to make sure that the slider settings weren't too low, I tried using them in a game in Pro mode (Yankees vs. Philadelphia, Vasquez vs. Millwood). As the Yankees I hit 4 HRs in that game (2 by Jeter, one by Sheffield and one by Vasquez!). I had never hit more than two in a game before, so perhaps my timing is getting better in Pro and I just need to be more patient in All-Star).

thanks for the responses. i seem to have several steal attempts using these sliders w/ trues datafile. i have used them with several different teams and have plenty of steals with each. remember, if you see more than 2 or 3 steals a game, then it starts getting unrealistic...

i just went in and tested the sliders on exhibition again.

reds v marlins

i hit pierre, got an o-1 count on castillo, and peirre tried to steal second. i threw him out. i walked castillo. second pitch and castillo stole second. on a 2-2 pitch, castillo tried to steal third. remember that you have to go deeper in the count sometimes for them to steal. don't throw strikes all the time. i will test more later using other teams.

jpup,

pierre steals on the console version which has a legimate bug.it's the other teams/lower rated players that should be moving. Depending on the game more than 2 or 3 steals is realistic. Will still try !

So far so good. I've continued to use the sliders and really like them. I used them last night after installing the new patch and RRod'd v4 datafile and had a really close game (Yanks lost to the Royals 2-0, 7 hits for KC, 4 hits for NY). It took a little while to get used to the pitching meter changes in the v4 datafile (the green zone is smaller), and I had my chances to score (men on 1st and 3rd with 1 out), but just couldn't get

the job done.

I had increased the CPU steal slider up to 20 recently, and last night KC stole two bases.

I'm looking forward to to hearing about any modifications you make to your sliders.

yeah i'd like some new slider suggestions too. since the new patch seems to have almost made the game an arcade version, ichiro three HR's in his first game, he's good but....

slightly off topic but is there a way to have the camera angle of roddata3 in the roddata4 file? i like the 4 file but really prefer the camera angle of 3.

jpup, are you seeing acceptable stamina changes with the starters? With fatigue at +30 the starters for me seemed to be gassed and giving up a bunch of dingers by the 4th inning.

yeah, it seems ok. i am still have a very hard time getting the cpu to throw enough pitches on all-star level. Here are my last 5 games w/ these sliders.

6-4, 3-2, 2-1, 8-1, 9-8.

these are not perfect by any means. the pitch speed, power, and contact are still not just right. i have played a couple with cpu power up another five and it seems they hit too many homers. i'll keep working on them.

I actually like these sliders, but again, the only way to play comepletely realistically is to bat on MVP level and pitch on Pro or All-Star. It is a pain to switch between that two every half inning, but I have had some of the best and most realistic games this way, in terms of pitch counts on both sides.

I just finished a 5-2 win, using Cleveland at home vs. Texas.

Really enjoyed the game with the sliders and Rod4.

One adjustment I'd suggest however is User Pitcher Fatigue.. go negative with it, possibly in the -15 or -10 range.

Texas hit a couple solo shots off me, but the offense is far more balanced now, not a slugfest. Good stuff.

I have used these sliders and Most of my hits are HRs. If I lower the power, will the hrs be reduced to doubles or just pop flies? If I use these sliders in mvp level will the hrs reduce? I would love to have more hits while reducing the hrs. Any help?
