Sliders and their affect on Simmed games

I think I have my sliders tuned very well for my playing style/ability (All-Star), I am just curious as to whether or not the slider settings have any affect on simmed games or if the games are simmed based on teams stats or ratings. Has anyone studied this?

I probably play about 40% of my games, the rest I sim.

The only way to test that is put all slider high +50 f/user -50 f/AI and see what happens. Then reverse them -50 f/user and +50 f/AI. Make sure you use the first season and the same team. +50 W-L vs -50 W-L

Let us know what you find out.

I;ve done this with so many variables in MVP 2004 and found that sliders had ZERO influence on simmed games and that the effect of editing attributes varied greatly on which ones EA chose to make work.

In MVP 2005 it is clear that the situation has unfortunately NOT changed after some fool-proof testing, which is VERY disappointing.

Most disappointing, however, is the fact that some attributes have such a MINOR effect that I question why they are even there. For instance, after plenty of tests with the "Batter Tendencies" attributes, it is clear that they do practically nothing.

It is SO frustrating to me that I cannot change how stats work; baseball video games are 90% stats and when you can't change them it really sucks.

Regardless of anything I try, the league leader in strikeouts will never have more than innings pitched which is ridiculous. EA sports obviously had no true baseball fans working on this game, same went with the hockey series. SUch a shame, too. It COULD be a great game.

If anyone has had ANY success tweaking K counts for simmed games for either Pitchers OR batters, please let me know. (IE you can stop Pujols from striking out an unrealistic 90 times a season and get Brad Lidge and Gagne to throw more Ks than innings)

I was so excited to learn that MVP 05 had batter tendencies but the attributes do NOTHING as far as I'm concerned. THere should have been a Strikeout attribute added to pitchers but I can only dream of a decent baseball game.

So much of baseball is stats that it is a slap in the face to ignore this aspect of the game, it really angers me
