spitoon
The game doesn't save them, at least not permanently. Does anyone think it's possible to mod/hack the game to save this info during the game, like even a background running app? Think about it, the game HAS to save something temporarily when it's displaying the Box Score after the game, and then when you click Done and get to the final Pitcher Matchup, you can get to it again there. The game has to store this data either in a temp file or memory (more likely the latter) while it is at that point. Is there anyone who would have the programming knowledge to figure it out, or is it impossible to figure it out without the source code of the game? I'd say this might be possible using a program like ArtMoney that is able to access the contents of an .exe while it's running. You'd probably have to viewt the page, Alt-Tab out and use ArtMoney...now whether or not it would be in a legible format is an entirely different question, it could all be in HEX or code and you would have a hard time finding it. schitonk
i dont know why ea didnt make it possible to AT LEAST dump the boxscores to a text file. i know console is the main market but it would have taken probably no more than 5 hours to code that into the gui. and rich, thx for the program, tho i have a question/suggestion. will you make editing the .ini easier at some point, ie. give an 'options' in a drop down menu to set the default directory for local/server outputs and various things? also, is there going to be a way to create player pages without have to select all players on each team individually? spitoon
also, is there going to be a way to create player pages without have to select all players on each team individually? I'd like this also, obviously it would take a significant amount of time, but clicking through each team, and then selecting all players and generating the pages takes time anyways. You might not be able to use someone else's .ini because the paths may be different....post your ini here and I'll take a look at it. Also, if you can, post the path to your MVPSavReader. If you chose the default installation it should be: C:Program FilesMVPSavReader

kitm9891
I have a quick question for anyone who might know. This may sound like a dumb question but Im not sure so maybe someone can shed some light on it for me, when you download the newest version, which looks to be released on Monday, will you then have to set everything up for your dynasty all over again or will it just add the new components to what you already have downloaded? Im curious because if I have to replace everything then I dont want to set it all up just to have to set it all up again come Monday.
JoeRudi26
Remove the first version from add/remove programs then install the new version. You will still have to change the path in the .ini file so that it can read your Dynasty.

Two things: 1) I think it's not finding your dynasty save (no current record)...Maybe try to copy and paste it into the MVPSavReader folder then change the path to read: C:Program FilesMVPSavReaderOrioles_Dynasty.sav (Obviously make sure you've got the "Orioles_Dynasty.sav" exactly correct...Mine was the default name "Dyna1_Dynasty.sav" and the first time I typed it Dyna_1Dynasty.sav and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working ) If that doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the SavReader...I had a similar error message a couple of times early on and the only way I could get rid of it was to do that... Look in the folder where your Orioles_Dynasty.sav is located and see if there is a 0 Byte .sav file there...if it can't find it, it seems to save an empty file in it's place.... spitoon
I just tried to reproduce that error message by intentionally removing my Dynasty.sav from the location the .ini is looking in, and I got that same error message. So I'd say either you typed it wrong, your path is wrong, or the program might be having a hard time with that long path...although it works on my 'long path': F:Documents and SettingsspitoonMy DocumentsMVP Baseball 2005Dyna1_Dynasty.sav
movietitan
one quick question, the drive that you use (e.g. C: or F:) is the drive that your folders are in, not the drive you play your game on, right?
movietitan
i just got it to work, spitoon thank you VERY much...but while im talking to you, i just started using your walk fix datafile and im not really walking that many more people (ive walked about 3 in 20 games) and now im striking out way less people, like 1 or 2 a game. have you experienced this problem? Dazedcat
I finally got this new version to work. No doubt I was doing something wrong with the original release. kitm9891
Hey RichK I sincerely want to thank you for creating this application and for helping me earlier in this thread with getting it to work on my end. I dont mean to put down anyone else's mods and all the hard work that went into them but I have found the most enjoyment in this application. I am a total stats junkie, at the end of my first year in owners mode I went through and wrote down every stat for every player in the major leagues, and included top prospects who were still down in the minors, for me the stats are what makes the game enjoyable. I just wanted to thank you whole heartedly ( sp?) and if/when I get a job I would be more then willing to make a donation, since technically you cant charge for this, thanks again. RichK
Rich, I have no idea if this would be possible for a future release or not, so you lay it straight for me. I was wondering if some kind of "All-Time Stats" could be kept. Like say that Bonds does break Aaron's record in the game...is there any way that that could be kept in a list, and you can see who ranks where (maybe top 10) in major statistical categories. The only thing I though about is that this might not be possible if the game wipes out the records when a player retires. Could you let me know? Thanks. That's awesome. I'd almost consider it a separate program though. I'll think about doing that once the MVPSavReader gets fairly complete. I could see loading in a database of current records (or top X on the list) and then compare the current career stats to them.
RichK
I'd like this also, obviously it would take a significant amount of time, but clicking through each team, and then selecting all players and generating the pages takes time anyways. Done. A warning though... it generates over 6,500 pages, so it takes a LONG time. Look for it in version 1.5.0 on Monday.

edm
Done. A warning though... it generates over 6,500 pages, so it takes a LONG time. Look for it in version 1.5.0 on Monday. Thanks Rich. I hate to make another request, especially since you haven't even released 1.5 yet. But in a future version, is there any chance of setting it up, so, when you click "create all players", only the players for the highlighted league (the box at left side of the program -- MLB, AAA, AA, A) would generate? Updates sounds great though. Especially sortable stats. Awesome work and thank you.
