Pitchers Pitches being changed in ultimate 2.3

I brought this up on mvplanet.com and they told me to come here. pitchers like randy johnson and rivera have had their pitches changed along with several others. I want to know if you did this on purpose or if its a glitch and if you did change it where did you get their pitches from because i know randy johnson has a 4 seam 2 seam slider splitter and changeup. I love the rosters anyways its just i dont think randy johnson would be the big unit without his slicing 2 seam or his dropping splitter

ESPN Insider's scouting reports credit Johnson with a 4-seamer, 2-seamer, change, and slider. The Neyer-James Guide to Pitches gives him the same, minues the changeup, saying he uses the 2-seamer as a change.

For Mike Stanton, ESPN gives him curve, slider, 2-seamer, splitter. Neyer-James says fastball, curve, slider -- though, their last reference for him is 1999, and I'm pretty sure he has picked up the split in the last 6 years.

I had bad luck with installing UR2.3 with MVPedit but might reconsider if the pitcher's arsenals have changed--is this confirmed? I installed UR1.0 but it seems Peavy still has a curve in his arsenal (which he doesn't throw) and should be a 4-seam, 2-seam, slider, change-up.

On a related note, is there a reason why UR2.3 is installed with MVPedit whereas UR1.0 was installed by overwriting certain files? IMO, UR1.0 installation was easier and hassleproof.

In 2.3 he has a 4-seam fastball, knuckle-curve, changeup, cutter, and 2 seam fastball.

The link you provided mentions pitches that are included, but does that mean all inclusive? Halladay doesn't have a changeup, cutter, or 2-seam fastball?

I'm pretty sure he has a cutter because HH had it for him. As for the knuckle-curve, Ultimate Version 2.3 is the first place I've seen him have that pitch.

Some significant changes I've seen in 2.3 are more slurves and forkballs that seem to replace sliders and splitters for certain pitchers. I think there is more of the circle change as well. Looks to me that 2.3 will make hitting more difficult than EA's default roster.

Just as an experiment, I created a player who among his pitches has a forkball and slurve, and he was terrific against the Cardinals in an exhibition game on All-Star.

I think there is more of the circle change as well.

That is the most common changeup that people throw. It has a lot more movement than a straight change, IMO - and you can change where you place your thumb to make it have different movements

How does a circle change differ from a changeup with both having say a movement of 11-5 and right-handed pitcher?

I don't really know how it's done, all I know that it's in the way that you place your thumb. I learned this from a pitcher who used to pitch for the high school I went to. He threw a circle change all the time, but he would move his thumb around into different places to change the movement on it. You would have to talk to a real pitcher if you really wanted to know how to do this, I have no clue.

Actually, I wasn't asking how it's done, but what is the difference?

What would be the difference between a changeup and circle change thrown by a right-handed pitcher breaking say 11-5 in how it appears to the batter?
