Pedro_s_Midget
I don't meam to sound racist, but this probem only happens on Asian pitchers. I play as the Mets and Dae Sung Koo, Kaz Ishii and Jae Won So all jhave the same problem. When they pitch with nobody on-base, their motion is super-slow, everything goes slowly, even the Bar that goes up and down for my pitch control. Once there is someone on base, they speed up to normal speed. I have never noticed this problme with any other pitchers. I even remember it being a problem last year (only with Jae So). Has this hapened to anyone else? (I did a search for asian pitchers but came up empty). GO Mets!!
emeyekayiee
RACIST! just kidding member when Nomo came out with the dodgers batters were like, WTF is up with this guy then they all struck out then they figured out how to hit him then Nomo ended up in tampa bay the end
Pedro_s_Midget
I only said that cause the topic sounded alittle fishy. But any ideas on my problem?
SephirothXIII
Thats just their normal delivery, if it's really bothering you and you're playing in a dynasty, you probably just have to trade them. I personaly never had a problem with it, you just have to get used to it.
Friedman
That's just their culture. They think, "Boy these American pitchers are nuts. They throw so damn fast." Just edit their pitching windup to generic 1 or something. Or trade them. BTW- It is their belief that a slow windup will screw up the batter's timing. SephirothXIII
BTW- It is their belief that a slow windup will screw up the batter's timing. Wouldn't the batters in the asian leagues be used to it? Or do you mean just the batters in the MLB?
Friedman
Well... I was listening to the broadcast of Jim Kaat and Bobby Murcer when the Yanks played exhibition games against the Tokyo and Hanshin teams in Japan. Jim and Bobby explained that they believed it would mess with all timing of MLB and JAPAN LEAGUE batters. They also explained how it was hard to get used to it, and it was hard to exactly time it. But when you have guys like Sadahara Oh, and Hideki Matsui who did so well there, it wasn't so hard for them.
FBlue
I kind of like having one pitcher with a slower delivery. It's like having pitchers with different pitches, it makes pitching with them different than other pitchers. But I don't think I would like to pitch with a delivery as slow as some of the asian players. And the asian pitcher deliveries are not the only ones that are slower when no one is on base. If you change your delivery to the Shilling one or some others you will pitch slower as well. As for hitting against them, it isn't that bad after a few at bats. JoeRudi26
I have the same thing with Keiichi Yabu for Oakland. Pain stakingly slow until someone gets on base and he throws from the stretch. Definately throws off MY timing after pitching with 5 or 6 innings from someone else. I'll keep him the way it is though, it definately adds realism and variety to the game. steroid
I have the same problems too, just happens with certain white guys which I cant remember and with Dontrell also. So its not just the asian pitchers Is it me or is Willis the human pretzel??

Change Koo's delivery. he does not pitch like that in real life. i think he was given Seo's delivery, which is also too slow.

I give him Nomo's delivery and put him in the setup role, which has him pitch from the stretch.
EricvonEric
If you want to see a really slow windup, check out Classic 1. From start to finish it takes a good 5 seconds (give or take) to actually throw the ball.
Jitter
I had trouble w/ Willis as well so I traded him. At first I also had trouble w/ oliver Perez. His windup is not exactly slow, but it seems to move at different speeds and took awhile to get used to. As for hitting against them I kinda just ignore the windup and focus on the ball. Once you know about how fast each pitch is, I find they are just like hitting normal pitchers. I do have some trouble w/ the sidearm pitchers though. I have trouble judging the location alot of the time.
