I am trying to do this with the mvpedit, I have read the read me, and it told me absolutely nothing. I have no idea on what I am suppose to do. Do I create another folder or do I rename the dat files or what?? Im not stupid, but this is making me pissed. Ive searched and searched till I am blue in the face. Can someone please give a step by step how they load it up and then I may be able to give it a go............Please...........Thank you in advance and no replies on the search because its been done and nothing was found in the way of a step by step. I know noone is my babysitter, but sometimes a hand is needed. I want to learn this because it looks like something that can be useful in what I am trying to accomplish...................once again thanks in advance and I apologise if this offends anyone. Its not meant to.

What are you trying to load? A roster made up of .dat files, or a .mbe file?

Are you trying to import a default roster or a downloaded roster?

With that info, I will be able to help.

Here ya go:

1) If it is an .mbe file, what you can do is go ahead and extract that using winrar or winzip. Extract it to a folder that is easy to find for you.

2) Go into MVPEdit and open up that .mbe file.

3) Save that as whatever you want to save it as, doesn't matter in the slightest.

4) Edit Away

5) When you are done, save again, and then hit the export button and export it to your MVP2005>Data>Database folder.

or

1) If you are editing your current rosters that are already in the game, open up MVPEdit.

2) Hit import, find the database folder, and hit import or ok, or whatever the button is.

3) Edit away, then save and export back into the database folder.

It's very easy once you get the hang of it (which shouldnt take too long :) )

OK - Here we go

Step 1 - Open MVPedit

Step 2 - Hit the "IMPORT" icon on the top bar

Step 3 - Scroll down just a bit, and double-click on the "database" folder.

Step 4 - Hit OK

Step 5 - Type a filename in the box, and hit OK

Now the roster is open. Play around with it. To save it as a .mbe, a file just for MVPedit that doesn't go into the game, select file>save as.

To export the roster back into MVP when you are done, hit the "EXPORT" icon up top. Double click on the database folder again, hit ok, and wait for the little status bar at the bottom of the program to say "Save complete" or something to that effect.

Open up MVP baseball and your roster will already be loaded as the default game roster!

the problem is the files dont show up when I do hit import. The box pops up but no files show to click on

You are not selecting an individual file. You are just selecting a folder, the database folder, which contains the 20 something files which make up the roster.

Its amazing what a little step by step and a little patience can accomplish. Kinda like the Sox last year, as much as I hate to say it. ( SORRY MARKB ) It was greatly appreciated, more than youll ever know. I stressed over it for over an hour. :x   8)
