moding jersay Numbers.

I'm trying to fix my nubers for a jersay set i'm working on, as i need to remove some trim color. using adobe psp 7.1 (i think. i know its 7 something) i've saved my letters and numbers as jpg, open thenm up in the program, then i've tried both vutting out what needs to be cut and after testing seeing the number fine, but it preocudes a box with color around it, white, there white jerssay's, i then thought if go back in to the program and use clear, this would help, but what appears now is what ever the back ground color is set up as. in this case some shade of blue. so what am i missing here?

the bluw would be fine if wher making a USA like uniform which i might do later, for a futre team, but right now i need to get the blue out so the jersay white shows where the blue is.

if some knows what i'm not doing right for this work i'd appericate the information and your time to answer this issue for me. i can exchange email and the file i'm using if it helps, if you mind leaving your email location.

thank you!

you need the background transparent, not white

to make it transparent just duplicate the layer and then cut out the white.

on the top layer. the transparency is checkered. the first layer should be invisible, opacity zero. save it as a psd file.

then goto Fshed to import the numbers.

open the font file (fxxx.fsh) in fshed.

slect number to import

goto graphic importer, check for psd file, search for the number you just made in photoshop

open it and update picture,

do this for all the other numbers and then save

thanks, i thought you'd be around! its the tansparent part i wasn't getting. the rest seems to be the same as working with the pants and jersey pretty much.

the only thing i'm not sure about do you merge the layers, when finished like the other work!

the font files edited do not need to be merged down,

if you do that the transparency will be colored white and not transparent,

in fshed, you can toggle transparency on/off to see if it's made right.

cut up the new layer and set the oriignal as 0 opacity or fill same thing i guess. u need a new layer because the original one will just turn white when cut and wont be transparent.

i'm getting there i created the new layer so its transparent, then cut what out, as found out you need to be on that layer (new one) to do it, and save as psd, and pieces need wher they need to be for the game, but running the game with that team i'm still getting whatever background color existed. i'm starting over, thinking i have a bad psd, as there psd that i startrd before i having your first post to this post.

is there anything about this that sounds wrong. the team file i'm working with is: F020A

cinn. home.

i'm trying not out all the black, so whats left is the white trim and the red shade.

let me if anything i'm saying seems off, so i do this right!

1. are u importing the psd with fished?

2. if you are, did you test the transparency on off button on the buttom, i think?

3. does the background of the psd have a checkered background or is it white?

4. did you merge visible?

if your talking about ea graphices editor, yes!

where would that be i found something about transparentcy under colors, but nothing about testing with it to be on or off!

i make the new layer, and get checkered when the black (or whentever color it is at the time is cut out then save.

i thought you said not to use the merge visable! i thought i need to orgiannly but i did do that when you said not to. If i miss understood you, sorry about that!

You should use fshed and not eagraph, i don't think eagraph imports psd files. and its a pain to each file seperaely.

Fshed does it a lot quicker especially if your doing fonts, because 26 letters and stuff is way too many clicks in Eagraph lol

your right about the merge visible i was jus wondering if you did or not, But your absolutely not supposed to.

actully you can use psd in either program. they brought in a little differently.

i'm trying both ways and using the fshed and found the button your taling about, but i'm not getting an apperance difference. the orginal apperance with the stuff i'm trying to cut out is still there when i do that on/off toggle transperancy?

sorry i was in a rush typing it all in without missing the first pitch. lol

in both the psds i sent you;

all i did was change the opacity level on the top layer to 100% you had it set to 0%

I also changed the orignal layer (bottom layer) to 0% opacity, which makes it non visible. You had it set to 100%

You should not be able to see any part of the original layer (bottom).

i changed the original layer to 0% opacity, another way to make it non visible is to just unclick the little eye on the layer. its pretty much the same thing but different ways of doing it. you can also just delete the original layer if your exporting/importing as a psd file.

hopefully this makes sense, if not you can go to hell! no just kidding! i just thought it would be funny to write that. take no offense lolololol.oll,

i've gone mad dogers lost three in a row! :banghead:

sorry to be confusing, its just their are several ways to do this in PS and i was in rush trying to explain all three in one sentence in my last post lol

There drivimg crazy to. i don't know how in the world with the way there losing lately there stay in the west race, but they got to win soon or the Podres are going walk away with the west title. i've been trying to follow mbut its hard being in the est so i watch i can and watch the braves the rest of the times sine its nl ball. that getting hard because the braves are sinking fast after all these years of winning and is hard to sollow.

ehat youtr telling me is making sence now, i basic form i just reversed what needed to be done. i'll lwet you you know how it goes in a day or two, but i think i understand now what went wrong. Hang in withthe Dodgers, hopefully they'll win soon.

this last transaction of information worked perfectly! i was able to make the change i wanted and looks pretty decent in my game. i appericate the help and the confusion was understanderable. you where in a hurry, and gave the right information, but just reversed which layer i needed to zero to when you wrote the answer the frist time. i've done that trying help out with others in past, plus you wantedto to get to the dodger game. Wish it turnedo out better for you, but there is tomarrow and the remainder of this season.

thanks for the help.
