fizzjob
The Pale Hose wore these for a game against Detroit last year. I have darkened the blue a bit, and enlarged the cap logo, so it's closer to the original. The uni set has numbers, regular White Sox batting helmets & regular catching gear, although the "baggy pants" slots seem to conflict with those elements...ah, well. ...just awaiting validation. redeck
I have been trying to install this mod for 6hours. (then I went to bed) Studio didnt work, apparently its not updated to run with vista. I even tried downloading my of dll file for it. no dice. I couldnt get it to go through eagraph either, as Im just not sure how. and i tried a couple things with Tit that didnt work either. Im sure it can be done with Tit, Im just not able to figure it out. I want to put it in place of the Devil Rays Uniforms. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks dave
Homer
tit is simple. you just name the "u" and the "f" files to the uniform slot you want it installed. then name the portrait bmp to the same slot. zip them up and install them. not sure what you tried to do with these programs, but that's the easiest way i know of. plus, i don't see where the download for this is so i can't look at the files. redeck
thanks for the reply Homer, this is pretty much the same thing you told someone else a few years ago in anouther thread about this mod. I thought I did just what you said, renamed the two .fsh file f012 and u012, created a .bmp file (size 128x128 wasnt sure....) 7zipped them up and went to TiT with it. Tit didnt say anything about not being able to install seemed to go through all the motions, but when i tried in game, no changes :-( http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=1974 this is the Mod, thanks for taking the time Homer, you know how much I appreciate it. And I look forward to sharing the info I learn from you Veterans to the Noobies myself someday.
redeck
well I got somewhere.........I took a look in a more recent uni download, and found that the files were named differently the CAG files are named f004h and u004h. The newer uni files are named u020h and u020g. So I changed the CAG files to u014h and u014g. (as I want them to insert in the Devil Rays slot) ran it through TIT ........this actually put the unis in the game, however, teh numbers and player names are still Devil Ray teal/green. so Im hurray ughhh at the same time. also, id like them to be baggy unis if thats possible...... anyone got any ideas? Jim825
You can also install them using EAGraph. I sent you EAGraph in one of the PM's we swapped when you were trying to export the Pittsburgh Crawfords portraits from TC10 so that you could install them in TC1927. Here's what you could do for the uniforms: 1. Rename the uniforms to the proper slot. If I'm not mistaken, the Rays use uniform slot #12 (I've been doing this stuff too long!!), so you would rename your home uniform files to u012a.fsh and f012.fsh and the road uniform files to u012b.fsh and f012b.fsh. 2. Now open up your data\models.big file in EAGraph. 3. On the top menubar, select Tools->Import Wizard 4. In the popup window that appears, check the "Add files to an external TAR archive" box and click the Next button 5. In the next screen, click the Add button 6. Navigate to the folder where you have your uniform files, select them all and then press the Open button 7. The files you chose will appear in the window above the Add button. Press the Next button and the files will be added to the models.big file 8. Once EAGraph finishes rebuilding the models.big file, and the "Data Processing Complete" popup window appears, click on the Finished button. Updating uniform previews is a little more work, but not hard: 1. Using EAGraph, open the data\frontend\uniforms.big file and extract the 012.fsh file (which contains the Tampa Bay uniform preview screens). 2. Go to the folder where you extracted the file. Right click on the 012.fsh file, select "Open with" and then select nfshtool. If nfshtool is not shown as an option, click on "Choose program..." and then find nfshtool. 3. When nfshtool runs, it will create an 012 folder. Inside the 012 folder you will find .bmp files for all of the uniform previews and an index.fsh file. 4. Find the uniform previews that you want to replace in the 012 folder and overwrite them with your new home and road uniform preview files, taking care to give them the exact same names as the files you are replacing. Also, make sure that the new .bmp files have a size of 128x128. 5. Right click on the index.fsh file and select "Open with nfshtool". This will rebuild the 012.fsh file (using the new uniform previews you just added) and put it in the folder above the 012 folder (i.e. where you extracted 012.fsh in the first place). 6. Go back to EAGraph and on the top menubar, select Tools->Import Wizard 7. In the popup window that appears, check the "Add files to an external TAR archive" box and click the Next button 8. In the next screen, click the Add button 9. Navigate to the folder where you have your 012.fsh file, select it and then press the Open button 10. The file will appear in the window above the Add button. Press the Next button and the 012.fsh file will be added to the uniforms.big file 11. Once EAGraph finishes rebuilding the uniforms.big file, and the "Data Processing Complete" popup window appears, click on the Finished button. Start your game and the uniforms and uniform previews should appear. As always, backup your original files before making these changes in case you want to back out your changes. redeck
you are too much Jim, i was hoping you would step in, cause you always got the answer, in detail. I just didnt want to go straight to you with anouther question. I start feeling like a fly that wont go away, you know what I mean? well Thanks Again, again. I will try this right now. and yea i have eagraph from you i have used it for alot of things its helpful tool dave
Jim825
As far as the file names: uxxx.fsh = uniform file fxxx.fsh = font file Because you didn't replace the existing Tampa Bay fxxx.fsh you were still using the existing font file (the green / teal). Also, what you ended up doing was replacing one of the uniform files with a font file, so I expect that if you selected that uniform (the one you changed from f004h to u014h), the game will crash. As far as baggy uniforms, those are typically uniforms in the g & h or i & j slots (they go in pairs). Not every team has them. It depends upon their history. For example, being a newer team, Tampa won't have those types of uniforms. Older teams like the Yankees, Giants, Cubs, and many others do have them. That's why you will find that some teams in TC1927 do have baggy pants while others don't.
Homer
there isn't much else i can add, as jim had it covered. the only reason i can think of that Tit didn't work was that you either didn't install Tit correctly, otherwise it works pretty flawlessly for uniforms. to see which uniform slots are baggy, use this: http://www.mlbmods.com/index.php/downloads/mvp-2005/mvp-tutorials/uniform-slots
emath2432
Yeah, I have always used Homers advice (tit) to install unis, but Jim is always so detailed in his descriptions. Both guys have always gone above and beyond to help me out, and I always feel the same as you. I feel like, how many thanks can I give them before it just doesn't work anymore Like Jim said though, I think you just mismatched your uni files, and font files. Hope it all works now, and you can get back to enjoying your game :)
emath2432
Also, I think it was Homer, and maybe Y4L that filled me in on this a couple of years back. Studio is a great program, but it has built in limitations that the other 2 ways don't. There are less slots that you can install to than there really are available. It was never updated after people figured this out. Also, I have had issues when using Studio, where certain teams uniform files (I think the A's were one of them) install all jacked up. The preview pictures, don't match up with the actual uniform slots they are supposed to. Then when you try to go back to fix it, it just seems to make it worse. I have on at least two occasions had this issue pop up, and ended up with corrupt uniform big files. in other words, I don't use studio anymore. If it were ever updated, i think it would be an amazing program though.

I dont know, but I do know that each time I do say it I mean it. I mean, these guys do go above and beyond, really, what do they get out of it? not much. If they help out a hundred people like they help me out, what happens, usually not much. I suspect that for every 100 people who try modding what do you think 10 actually do mod something. how many of them post those mods? How many of those mods are worth having on your harddrive? Im thinking 1% or less? my goal here now is to make something worth while, if only to put the time guys like homer and Jim and Joel and Deadballfan and others and other and others, give me to try and help me along. as for getting back to playing the game, i dont see that happening soon, Im in Modder Mode. which means that the "game" has actually become a test program for all this other stuff
