jpup
ok, here is the situation. I create my ad, structure, etc that I want to put in the game. I go through OEdit and fix it up. Save it like it should be and all that. When I get into the game, it will not show up with certain camera angles. Example: I created an ad to put behind home plate in GABP and it will not show up with the btp view. if i look at it in the replay mode from a distance, it shows up perfect. Does anyone know how to fix this. I know that Renegade needs this problem fixed as well. I would really appreciate any help. This is the only thing holding me back from releasing my mod in the next couple of days. I have nearly everything in there but it will not show up at certain angles. Please help ASAP. Renegade44
1 "solution" that ezorn reccomended was that the vertices dont change the way they show up Ie if u take vertices from the lf foul line and move them to the rf foul line, in game whatever it was u moved ie ad, etc will still appear as if its down the rf line. it will show up in the new location but it will dissapear until you look at it from a certain view like you are near the area where it used to be. so what i have done with sheanite is try to move vertices as close to there origional postitions as possible. this worked good for my NIKON ad but the verizon was a little too far away. unfortunatly there is really no vertices near home plate that i could use to do behing home plate ads. again im not 100% that this is exactly the problem but its been the only suggestion ive heard for this problem in 3 months so im going with it until someone comes up with something better
CaliColts
The problem has to do with how the game renders textures and how far the object is from the original place it was at. As far as I know, the game does this to reduce the number of textures it is using at any certain time to make the game run smoother. I have found no good workaround on this, basically if you move it too far away from where it was, you are not going to get it to show up from all angles. Its a real pain if you need something in an area where there are no extra parts and there is likely no way around it.
ezorn33
Yes, but there are often other ways to work around it. Be creative :)
Renegade44
hey ezorn, can u post some techniques you used to work around it? thanks
ezorn33
Sure. For the bullpen ads at Fenway, I elongated the texture with the RF distance marker and put all the ads into that file. It was one big object with pockets of transparency to separate all the different signs. For the Lumber Liquidators and Budweiser Gametime ads (in the to-be-released Fenway 3.0), I pulled a similar trick, taking a piece of the wall that appeared in the main ads file (because it was a door, slightly different than the rest of the wall) and using that one object to contain all the ads. Obviously, in each of these instances, there WAS something useful in the area, but it wasn't immediately obvious. It's possible that there's something similar in your stadiums.
