I tried downloading EA's new patch and installing it and it wouldnt let me. Said there was a file already there that existed and gave me an error. I have never downloaded the patch, I was just hoping to fix the shakiness, can someone please help me out?

Thanks

You should really try the search feature, there are numerous threads on that problem. Basically it means that you've installed a mod that changed one of the stock files, and the patch can't recognize it. It's usually a roster mod, but can be other things.

The simplest fix is to replace your /database folder with the one from the CD. This can be accomplished by looking on CD1 for a file called 'compressed.zip' unzipping it to a folder on your desktop, then looking inside it for the /database folder. Back up your old /database folder by simply renaming it to /databasebackup, then copy and paste the stock /database folder in. Run the patch, then delete the /database folder and re-rename your backup one.

If you run the patch and it still gives you trouble, just grab the error box and move it away so that you can read the name of the file that it is getting hung up on, replace that file with the stock one from the CD's and repeat.
