Does anyone else have a long line coming out of their bat?

Sometimes when playing, I get this long line extending from the end of the bat. I see it both when I am pitching and when I am hitting.

I haev the updates CAtalyst driver for my ATI 9700 Pro.

In similar fashion sometimes, I see solid colr patches cover the field. They usually extend out from a point inth stands. Sometimes its been so bad, that I couldnt see my outfielders when there was a popup hit.

Any thoughts?

latest drivers?

spiking like that points to gfx card problems

I believe (I may be mistaken) that it can also point towards issues of the picture display sync with the graphics card display. He described seeing color patches which can be caused by this also.

Is your vertical sync on or off? (both ingame & in the catalyst control panel)

Can you please advise me where to find these settings?

Also, it does not happen all the time. It starts mid-game, but once it starts it does not go away.

Thanks.

Well, the location for the vertical sync ingame is when you go in the game, choose "my mvp" then choose the second choice there called "my mvp options". Then choose the 4th option which is called "video options" Then scroll down to the last option which is called "vertical sync" & make sure it's at "on".

As far as your video card, you need to right click with your mouse on your desktop & then click on "properties". Then choose the tab called "settings". Then choose the button called "advanced". Then choose the tab that is called the name of your video card. (Since I don't know what your video card is, I can't tell you what the tab will be called, but you should recognize it yourself.)

After that you might have to search around a bit. If you are using an Nvidia chip card, then you should have the forceware drivers there. In that case click on the option called "Performance & quality settings". This will change the main settings on the screen that you have open. Inside this screen you will see in the middle a heading called settings with choices underneath it starting with "antialising settings" Scroll down a bit to the last option. This will be your "vertical sync" setting. It should say either "application controlled" or "on". If it says "off", you need to change it to either of the aformentioned 2 choices & save the setting by clicking on "ok" which will then save & close the screen you were working on. (You can also click "apply" which will do the same but will not close the screen. You will then have to click on "ok" to close the screen anyway)

If you are using an ATI based card, the "how to" to check your vertical sync will be a bit different after you click on the tab of your video card. Just experiment by peeking around everything till you find what setting you need to change. It will say something similar to the options in the Nvidia, so it should be close enough for you to understand what you are seeing. (This is good anyway to search around because it will make you more familar with your computer, thereby making you more knowledgable on how to troubleshoot problems that may occur for you in the future)

Good luck.

I'd say your card is dying....but just to be sure, the first thing I would do is to download the newest driver from the manufacturer's web site. Then I'd uninstall your video card driver using a program like Driver Cleaner.

- Uninstall driver from "Add/Remove Programs" in the control panel.

- Restart into "Safe Mode", press F8 while the computer restarts.

- Run Driver Cleaner.

- Restart normally.

- Don't allow windows to automatically install a driver (Cancel).

- Install new driver.
