Only way I score is homeruns.

I am getting realistic scores and close games, but the HRs are OUT OF CONTROL! My homerun and RBI totals are way out of whack for some guys. I am just entering August of my Twins dynasty and here are how many HR/RBIs my guys have. (all-star level most games)

Stewart-10-36

Ford-20-41

Mauer-19-61

Morneau-27-73

Hunter-15-56

Jones-21-50

Cuddyer-19-54

Punto-3-22(woo-hoo)

Rivas-9-23

LeCroy-15-39

Redmond-5-13

Bartlett-7-24

Castro-4-6

Tiffee-11-28

Before I ask if anyone has any ideas, here are some things I have tried.

1. Sliders--If I move them down, I never get any hits period, maybe 4/game. Right now they are set at 33 contact and 10 power, I am getting good scores, like I said, but I only score off of solo HR's it seems like.

2. Getting rid of guys hot zones, not just making them disappear, but taking the red and changing to neutral or cold.

3. Changing player attributes for less power.

4. I usually sit on fastballs inner half of the plate and hold the analog stick at either 10 or 2(depending on if they are L or R hitters), anyhow I tried taking everything the other way and started smacking them out oppo like crazy.

5. Tried not pushing the stick at all when hitting, lots of pop flys and weak grounders.

6. I have also tried playing on pro, no dice, with the pitching/hitting settings all the way down for user and all the way up for CPU, I win by an average of 7+ runs per game with 4-5 homers/game.

Anyone know of a way to play or a datafile/slider mix that will allow for a fair amount of scoring(9-11 runs total/game), but cut down on HRs?

OK, tried using Roddata's data file....played one game with User C@33 P@10 got 0 runs on 2 hits, next game I tried C@50 P@25, got 0 runs on 4 hits, lost both games 1-0. Playing on all-star level both games. So, um, it definitely fixed my hitting too many HRs problem...maybe too much. Does anyone know if there is a way to tune the trajectory or angle the ball takes off the bat for liners or fly balls. If I could angle it down just a bit on balls hit in the air, it would be perfect!

grrrrrr..... i havent hit more than 4 homeruns in my dynasty but im only in the 3rd week of july 2005 and im set at rookie and with boosted stats.

i try to be selective and open and close my stance and point my d-pad up but nothing seems to work for me. ive even set my tuning to +50 contact and +50 power and even after that i edited some players for 100 power and 100 contact and i still hit none. im getting furious. as much as i love smallball i like to be able to play longball more than 4 times over a +70 game period.

I typically hit 2-3 HR's per game.. occasionally there's a game where I hit around 5 or 6.. I don't get a lot of hits either but usually when I get runners on they score on homers or get left on base.. I play at pro and typically sit on pitches down the middle or middle-in.. Don't use roddata's data file, it is terrible for hitting but makes the game more realistic in other attributes

That's funny how different this game if for different people. I play on All-Star straight up, and I hit maybe 1 or 2 homeruns every 5 games. I seem to be the one that hits for contact, I can usually get about 8 or 9 hits a game, and get about 3 or 4 runs.

Ok I have used Rod data file, played 3 games, all against the Braves in a new owner mode...

Game 1

2-1 win One run on a Lowell Homerun, other on a bases loaded single(CPU walked me twice.

Game 2

2-0 win, 2 run shot by Delgado...

Game 3

3-4 Loss

A 2 run shot by Pierre(who rarly hits one) and a solo by Cabrera

Also in the game I lost I only managed 7 hits(my highest in all 3 games)

The CPU had 19 hits, loaded the bases 4 times thankfully they hit into double plays all 4 times and managed just run, from the 4 opportunities.

7 runs, 6 scored by homeruns... something needs to be fixed... I keep grounding out, With the kumala final datafile, I used to hit singles, doubles, and less homeruns, just that I hit too many singles/doubles from line drives on the lines..., if only a datafile can be modified for a more control on homeruns as well as hits.

Got rid of the Roddata file, games were no fun. I just moved my sliders around and now I'm getting some funs games without so many dang hr's. I would say over the past 10 games I have hit 12-15 hrs, which is still a bit high for the Twins, but not ridiculous like before.

I am going to post my sliders over in the sliders thread and I will explain them more there if anyone is interested.
