Lual
Post record and stats please! And what are you going to do with Graves? He's not doing awful anymore so you can pick up something decent for him. Good luck! Will do im near the end of the month anyhow As for Graves, its a tough call - tbh id love to shift him and his attitude, but there seems to be no takers. He becomes a FA in the summer, so ill lose him for nothing, but will have his $6,100,000 off my payroll :wtg: @Go-Bucs - Thanks for the praise mate, lets hope i can keep things on a nice roll. 13GB from the Wildcard.... Lual
Game 4: Chicago Cubs (51-43) @ Cincinnati Reds (38-56) Its All Red! Above: Griffey trots around after his 26th homer, Right: Freel is lucky to avoid injury, as the ball is thrown off his head The series ends with a 4th straight win for the Reds over the Cubs in a 7-2 game. Cincinnati seem to hold a curse over the Cubs, as they now hold a 9-1 record against the Chicago club this season. The Reds always looked in control, rallying to a 7-0 lead thanks in no small part to Griffey, who hit his 26th dinger driving in 3 runs. The Cubs didnt help themselves, giving up 2 runs on a lazy overthrow at 2nd, which went deep into center field, as the Reds just enjoyed a free run to home. There is just 12 games between the 2 teams now, as the Cubs stranglehold on the Wildcard place is starting to slip away. 70s series is next for the Reds, as the Retro Uni's come out for the 3 games at home against the Brewers. Reds Talk: O'Brien (GM): "I think the fans are starting to enjoy watching us again. We had 4 packed houses against the Cubs, so its great to win the series 4-0" Robertson: "Its good to be able to pitch 5 shut out innings, but ive alot to learn to become a true starter" Reds Notables: Hitting: Freel - 3/4, 1RBI Griffey - 1/3, 1HR, 3RBI Casey - 2/4 Pitching: Robertson - 5I 5H 0R 0ER 0BB 2K 0HR 4.09ERA W(3-4) Blackley - 2.1I 4H 1R 1ER 1BB 1K 0HR 3.86ERA Mercker - 1.2I 2H 1R 1ER 0BB 1K 0HR 4.56ERA Box: R H E CHC 2 11 3 CIN 7 12

Lual
Upcoming Series - 3 Games Home vs Milwaukee Brewers Game 1: Milwaukee Brewers (49-47) @ Cincinnati Reds (39-56) Reds Keep On Trucking! Above: Lopez turns 2, as the Reds come out on top. Right: Pena drives in 2 runs with his double in the 1st The Brewers where the latest victum in the Reds revivial, as the 1970s Uni's inspired the Reds to win 4-2, taking their winning streak to a season high 6 games. Pena started the ball rolling with a 2RBI Double in the 1st. This was added to by Dunn, who sent a double to right, driving in 2 more runs, giving the Reds a healthy 4-0 lead. Milton managed to shut the Brewers out for 8 innings, then he lost his way in a tough 9th. Eric managed to get 2 outs, before allowing Clark to hit a 2 run dinger to left, pulling the Brewers within 2 runs. Everyone expected Graves to close things up for the Reds, but his absence from the Bullpen was a mystery to everyone outside the Reds organisation. Brazoban filled in to get the final out, with a pop fly to Dunn in left field. Reds Talk: Miley: "We have no comment to make with regards to Dannys absence tonight" Milton: "I wanted to pitch the complete game, but i started to lose my stuff in the 9th, so the Skip wisely took me out" Reds Notables: Hitting: Freel - 2/4 Griffey - 2/4 Pena - 2/4, 2RBI, 1 Double Dunn - 2RBI Pitching: Milton - 8.2I 7H 2R 2ER 0BB 5K 1HR 4.55ERA W(10- Brazoban - 0.1I 0H 0R 0ER 0BB 0K 0HR 3.11ERA (Save 1) Box: R H E MIL 2 7 0 CIN 4 10
Lual
Game 2: Milwaukee Brewers (49-48) @ Cincinnati Reds (40-56) Brewers Leave Sour Taste In Wilsons Mouth! Above: Wilson hits 3 pitchers in 2 innings, and gives up 9 runs in a shocking outing, Right: Not the way Willy wanted this streak to end The Reds pitching woes returned tonight, as the Brew Crew rattled in 9 runs off 2 poorly pitched innings by Paul Wilson. Wilson walked 4 men, including 3 which he hit with wild sliders. The Brewers made sure they channeled their anger correctly, and promptly hit 2 jacks, banging in 9 runs as they romped to a nice win in Cincinnati. Dunn tried to manufacture a comeback with a 3 run jack in the 4th, but it wasnt to be. The Brewers pitching staff made sure the win was theirs, closing things out 9-5, leaving Mileys men rueing their early innings collapse. On a side note, Juan Dominguez strained his wrist on his last pitch in the 3rd, meaning he will miss around 14 days worth of action. The Reds have yet to decide on his replacement if they DL him. Reds Talk: Miley: "Thats the worst way we could have lost our streak. The game was dead in 2innings, we need to bounce back in the Rubber tomorrow" Dominguez: "Its not as bad as i feared. Ill miss about 2 weeks of action though." Lual
Game 3: Milwaukee Brewers (50-48) @ Cincinnati Reds (40-57) Brewers Survive! Above: Randa makes a running grab, and Right, LaRue goes 2/3 as the Reds attempted to comeback The Rubber match proved to be an exciting encounter, as the Reds fought back from 4-0 to 4-3, only to lose 6-3 with Lee driving in 2 runs in the 8th. Harang had all sorts of trouble removing the Brewers batters, and soon found himself leaving the mound, after a 6I 7H 4ER effort. The Reds then fought back, with 2 runs in the 6th, and another in the 7th as the Brewers looked shakey as the game became close. Alas Mercker couldnt keep things going, allowing Lee to drive in 2 more runs, as the Brewers moved away to clinch a 6-3 win. Still no Graves at the GABP tonight, increasing rumours that the Reds are covering up an internal dispute. Reds Talk: Miley: "Graves will be in our Bullpen again, when we travel to LA" Randa: "Its been a tough home stand, but its a shame we end up with this series loss against the Brewers" Reds Notables: Hitting: LaRue - 2/3 Randa, Freel & Willingham - 1RBI Pitching: Harang - 6I 7H 4R 4ER 1BB 1K 2HR 3.07ERA L(5-3) Mercker - 2I 4H 2R 2ER 0BB 1K 0HR 4.73ERA Urbina - 1I 0H 0R 0ER 0BB 1K 0HR 2.29ERA Box: R H E MIL 6 11 0 CIN 3 7
Lual
Rumour Mill: With Danny Graves unexpectedly missing from the Reds Bullpen for the series against the Brewers, a variety of reasons for his absence have been banded around in an attempt to force the Reds to talk. The most likely scenario is that Danny himself is refusing to show up, trying to force a trade this season. Other potential reasons include a supposed scuffle in the clubhouse with LF Adam Dunn. Dunn has been p***ed off with Graves attitude, and has been vocal about this in previous weeks. There has been a leaked story that Dunn socked Graves after game 4 against the Cubs, leaving the Closer with a jaw injury. Whether its Graves trying to con the Reds, or Dunn teaching him a lesson, the Reds cannot afford to not have their Closer in action. Expect him to be in LA for the Dodgers series. Lual
Upcoming Series - 4 Games @ Los Angeles Dodgers Game 1: Cincinnati Reds (40-58) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (45-53) Dodgers Dent Reds! Above: Freel drives the Reds ahead, Right: Randa realises the Reds are staring at defeat A trip to sunny California would please most people, but the Reds come away from their 1st game with a poor loss, after they had dominated the Dodgers. Freel put the Reds 1-0 up in the 1st, as he drove in Lopez. Claussen then let the Dodgers back into the game as Itzuris jacked a solo shot in the 4th inning. The Reds should then have capitalised on 2 loaded base innings, but both times Penny pitched his way out of trouble. Then as extra innings loomed, it was Jeff Kent who doubled to drive in the winning run in the 8th inning. 2-1 Dodgers, the Reds will look back on a 12 hit game, that produced just 1 run. Reds Talk: Randa: "Its my job to try and keep the players tight, things have been rough with a few loose cannons, but those who want to be here are sticking together" Urbina: "I knew it would be tough here, but i still feel i can contribute to this team" Reds Notables: Hitting: Freel - 3/5, 1RBI Griffey - 2/5 Randa - 3/4, 1 Double LaRue - 2/4, 1 Double Pitching: Claussen - 7I 5H 1R 1ER 1BB 3K 1HR 2.93ERA Urbina - 1I 3H 1R 1ER 0BB 0K 0HR 2.38ERA L(6-3) Box: R H E CIN 1 12 0 LA 2 8
Lual
Game 2: Cincinnati Reds (40-59) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (46-53) LA Homers To Victory! Above: Freel drives the Reds ahead, Right: Randa realises the Reds are staring at defeat The Dodgers jacked 4 homers to rack up their 6 runs in the crushing 6-1 win over the Reds. Robertson again struggled on the mound, as hes slipped to 3-5, after giving up 10 hits and 4 runs in 5.1 innings. Offensively all the Reds had to shout about was Adam Dunns 26th homer of the year, apart from that it was a dour effort. The Reds will need a huge improvement in form, if they are to keep their hopes of taking a split from the series alive. Tomorrow sees Milton and Perez face off, in a battle of the teams Aces. Reds Talk: Dunn: "All i will say on the Graves issue is, hes keeping his mouth shut alot more...literally" Miley: "Its incredible how quickly we have gonr from 6 straight wins, to 4 straight losses" Reds Notables: Hitting: Dunn - 2/4, 1HR, 1RBI Randa - 2/4 Willingham - 2/4 Pitching: Robertson - 5.1I 10H 4R 4ER 0BB 3K 3HR 4.38ERA L(3-5) Blackley - 2.2I 3H 2R 2ER 0BB 0K 1HR 3.00ERA Box: R H E CIN 1 7 0 LA 6 13
Lual
Game 3: Cincinnati Reds (40-60) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (47-53) Reds Fail! Above: Griffey drives in 2 with his double, Right: Mercker is struggling to recapture his early season form Cincinnati throw away a 4-0 and 6-3 lead, as they slump to their 5th straight loss in a 10-6 reversal against the Dodgers. The Reds had raced into a 4-0 lead by the 2nd inning, as things looked to be getting better for the visitors. Then Milton seemed to lose his nerve, loading the bases in the 2nd and 5th innings, as he gave up the 6 tying runs. Brazoban couldnt stop the rot, as he gave up 3 more runs to collect the loss, as the Reds failed to take advantage of their hot hitting day, with a 14 hit performance. 1 more in LA, before a journey to San Diego will finish July, as the serious business starts now. Reds Talk: Miley: "Its a case of bad pitching at the moment. The offense might not be hot, but theres nothing we can do if our pitchers lack control" Milton: "Im getting the basics wrong. The mechanics are still there, but im not using them as i should" Reds Notables: Hitting: Freel - 2/5, 1RBI Griffey - 2/5, 2RBI, 1 Double Aurilia - 2/4, 1 Double Randa - 2/5, 1RBI LaRue - 2/4, 1RBI Pena - 1RBI Pitching: Milton - 5.1I 9H 6R 6ER 2BB 2K 2HR 4.76ERA Brazoban - 1.2I 7H 3R 3ER 0BB 0K 1HR 3.49ERA L(3-3) Mercker - 1I 1H 1R 1ER 0BB 1K 0HR 4.82ERA Box: R H E CIN 6 14 0 LA 10 17
Lual
Game 4: Cincinnati Reds (40-61) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (48-53) Yan Saves It! Above: Esteban Yan picks up the save, Right: Dunn and Co celebrate the extra innings win Starting Pitcher Paul Wilson drilled a home run, as the Reds skimped to a 2-1 win over the Dodgers in 10 innings, to avoid a 4 game sweep. Wilsons solo shot came in the 6th, and with the Dodgers struggling to get on board, many felt the game was done when Urbina came in to close. Urbina then loaded the bases with 1 out, gave up the tieing run, before forcing 2 pop ups to send the game into extras. Aurilia came into pinch hit for Urbina, and instantly became the game winner, with his double that put the Reds 2-1 up. Then Esteban Yan worked his magic on the mound to pitch a 1-2-3 10th, to earn the save. Reds Talk: Yan: "I need to pitch more regulary, so any success i can get on the mound, will give the Skip more faith in my arm" Wilson: "No one expected that, but if my offence can help us win, so be it" Reds Notables: Hitting: Wilson - 1/2, 1HR, 1RBI Aurilia - 1RBI Pitching: Wilson - 8I 2H 0R 0ER 3BB 4K 0HR 4.16ERA Urbina - 1I 2H 1R 1ER 2BB 0K 0HR 2.47ERA W(7-3) Yan - 1I 0H 0R 0ER 0BB 0K 0HR 2.89ERA (Save 1) Box: R H E CIN 2 6 0 LA 1 4

Lual
Upcoming Series - 3 Games @ San Diego Padres Game 1: Cincinnati Reds (41-61) @ San Diego Padres (53-49) Padres Shut Out! Above: Dunn goes 3/4 with 2 Doubles, Right: Urbina picks up the Save with 2Ks Game 1 in San Diego and the Reds shutout their hosts in a low scoring affair. The Reds put 3 unanswered runs on the board, as they held the Padres to just 6 hits, with Harang, Brazoban and Urbina all playing their part in the dominance on the mound. Griffey put 2RBIs on the board, both with Sac Flys, this was added to by Pena with a Sac Fly of his own. The Padres had nothing in reply, and the Reds could celebrate as July is drawing to and end. 1 more game in July, as the Trade Deadline looms large, will there be any blockbuster moves as teams will prepare for the last push for glory. Reds Talk: Dunn: "Its good to go 3/4, i need to get on base more, to compliment my home run production" Harang: "We pitched well as a unit today earning a shutout against a good Padres team" Reds Notables: Hitting: Aurilia - 2/5, 1 Double Freel - 2/4 Dunn - 3/4, 2 Doubles Griffey - 2RBI Pena - 1RBI Pitching: Harang - 5I 4H 0R 0ER 4BB 2K 0HR 2.88ERA W(6-3) Brazoban - 2I 1H 0R 0ER 0BB 2K 0HR 3.38ERA Urbina - 2I 1H 0R 0ER 0BB 2K 0HR 2.40ERA (Save 5) Box: R H E CIN 3 11 2 SD 0 6

Lual
Game 2: Cincinnati Reds (42-61) @ San Diego Padres (53-50) 7th Inning Agony! Above: Pena hits his 20th bomb of the year, Right: Griffey hussles to get on base July is drawing to a close on a sour note for the Reds, as they blow a 2-0 lead, with a rocky 7th inning where the Padres put 4 runs on the board. Pena had given the Reds the perfect start with a 2 run shot in the 1st inning. Things continued to go well for the Reds, as Claussen went 6 innings without giving up a run. The 7th proved to be their downfall, as Claussen gave up 3 base hits, then Mercker allowed 2 further hits as the Padres put 4 runs on the board to take game 2 of the series. This month has possibly been the best so far for the Reds as with 1 more game against the Pades, they stand at a 12-14 record in July, leaving them 14GB of the Wildcard place held by the Mets. Reds Talk: Mercker: "I want to go out with a bang, though my MLB days may be numbered if i keep pitching like this" O'Brien (GM): "We are not involved in any Trade talks at the moment, but who knows, deadline day can be a crazy one" Reds Notables: Hitting: Freel - 2/4 Pena - 1/4, 1HR, 2RBI Pitching: Claussen - 6I 6H 2R 2ER 1BB 4K 0HR 2.94ERA Mercker - 1I 2H 2R 2ER 0BB 0K 0HR 5.06ERA L(1-5) Yan - 1I 1H 0R 0ER 0BB 1K 0HR 2.79ERA Box: R H E CIN 2 6 0 SD 4 9
