Lual
Upcoming Series - 3 Games Home vs Milwaukee Brewers Game 1: Milwaukee Brewers (0-0) @ Cincinnati Reds (0-0) Baseballs Back! Above: WILLLLLLY, bang, he starts the year with a jack. Right: Zambrano impresses on his debut! The Reds open their 2006 schedule with a comfortable 8-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. NL CY Young Winner, Ben Sheets was on the mound for the Brewers, facing the Reds Debutant Carlos Zambrano. This matchup was soon over, as Sheets lasted just 1.2IP as he gave up 6H and 6R, as the Reds raced away with a hard fought win. Zambrano had started badly, giving up a 2 out jack to Lee in the 1st. Then the Reds came alive, a 2 run 1st, 4 run 2nd and 2 run 6th put the Reds in control, which they wouldnt relinquish. Pena got off to a solid start by hitting a 3 run jack, as the Reds made the most of the bad outing from Sheets. A day off for both teams, before they meet up for 2 more to finish off the series. Reds Talk: Miley: "Start as we mean to go on. This is what we want from our players everyday" Zambrano: "The start was bad, but in the end this was a good debut for me" Reds Notables: Hitting: Griffey - 2/4, 1RBI, 1 Double Pena - 1/4, 1HR, 2RBI Casey - 2/4 Encarnacion - 1/3, 2RBI, 1 Double Freel - 2RBI Lopez - 1RBI Pitching: Zambrano - 7I 4H 2R 2ER 2BB 4K 1HR 2.57ERA W(1-0) Brazoban - 1I 1H 0R 0ER 0BB 0K 0HR 0.00ERA Urbina - 1I 3H 1R 1ER 0BB 0K 0HR 9.0ERA Box: R H E MIL 3 8 0 CIN 8 11
Lual
Thanks for all the comments lads, much appreciated It was an exciting off-season, and the signing of Zambrano is a real treat for me. I also like the other additions, of Hill, Alfonseca and Molina - the Roster feels alot more rounded. My AAA Pitching staff is also pretty good, so i will look forward to seeing them develop. Lets hope you all enjoy year 2, as much as me :wtg:

mooseknucks
Great job winning opening day. Zambrano should kill for you. I'd rather have him than Kennedy or Marquis. My only question; why sit Griffey after his 37 homer, 120 ribbie season?! I know he's old but he's only a year older than last year ... :attention:

The Show
The dynasty's great so far, but I'd like to reccomend a few things: -Press Conferences. -Make an angle/storyline and suspend a player for a couple of days. These things would give the dynasty a more real look(EVEN MORE REAL). EXCELLENT so far... keep it going!

RaptorQuiz
Oh yeah this is gonna be sweet with Zambrano n' such. Zambrano is so far superior to those always-injuried dudes (Wood and Prior) that Cubs fans are always going on about. Zambrano is the real stud in Chi-town. It'll be interesting to see if he can perform as a legitimate top-of-the-rotation guy in this dynasty. Good luck!

Kriegz
Thats looking good Lual! You have a stacked bullpen, if a deal comes where you can acquire a bat for one of your relievers, don't be afraid!

Lual
Game 2: Milwaukee Brewers (0-1) @ Cincinnati Reds (1-0) Back To Back! Above: Encarnacion Watches and Casey Celebrates, as they both hit solo shots in the big win! Game 2, and the Reds romp to a 10-2 win, thanks in main to both Lopez and Pena, as they each drove in 4RBIs in this convincing win. The Reds did suffer some bad news as Milton left the game after 3IP with a Groin Injury, but the Bullpen came in to make sure that the Brewers couldnt generate any offence. Pena, Casey and Encarnacion all went yard, as the Reds took an early 7-0 lead. The Reds can reverse their 2005 start, by sweeping the Brewers with a win tomorrow, as last season they had started by losing 3 against the Mets. Reds Talk: Milton: "Its not too serious, i should be back in 10 days or so. Im still p*ssed that i didnt get the win though" Pena: "Im feeling real good right now, who knows what sort of numbers i can put up" Reds Notables: Hitting: Hill - 2/3 Lopez - 2/4, 4RBI, 1 Double Griffey - 2/4 Pena - 2/4, 1HR, 1RBI, 1 Double Casey - 1/3, 1HR, 1RBI Encarnacion - 1/4, 1HR, 1RBI Pitching: Milton - 3I 5H 1R 1ER 0BB 1K 0HR 3.00ERA Belisle - 1I 1H 0R 0ER 1BB 2K 0HR 0.00 W(1-0) Parrish - 2I 2H 0R 0ER 0BB 1K 0HR 0.00ERA Julio - 2I 4H 1R 1ER 0BB 0K 0HR 4.50ERA Yan - 1I 0H 0R 0ER 0BB 0K 0HR 0.00ERA Box: R H E MIL 2 12 1 CIN 10 12

Lual
Roster News: With Eric Milton out for around 10 days, the Reds have decided to run with a 4 man rotation. There is currently no word on whether Milton will be placed on the DL, to allow for an addition from the Minors. Game 3: Milwaukee Brewers (0-2) @ Cincinnati Reds (2-0) Reds Brush Brewers Aside! Above: Willingham drives in 2, with his Triple. Right: Alfonseca gets his 1st 'of what the Reds will hope be many' Save! Sweep Up! The Reds finish of the Brewers with a 3-0 win, as Claussen and the Bullpen keep the Brewers quiet at the plate. All the Reds run came in the 4th inning, as Willingham drove in 2 with a triple, after Casey had put 1 on the board. The game was pretty quiet after this, as the Brewers could only muster 6 hits total, and fell away to a 1-2-3 9th, thrown by Alfonseca. The Cubs are next up for the Reds, and this will provide them with a bigger test to their abilities. Reds Talk: Miley: "I cant ask for much more than this. Its a great way for us to start the year, but theres another 159 games to go, and anything can happen" Claussen: "Its good to start with a win, and for the team to keep a shutout its a great confidence boost" Reds Notables: Hitting: Pena - 2/4, 2 Double Dunn - 2/4 Willingham - 2/3, 2RBI, 1 Triple Casey - 1/3, 1RBI Pitching: Claussen - 6.1I 4H 0R 0ER 0BB 2K 0HR 0.00ERA W(1-0) Brazoban - 0.2I 1H 0R 0ER 0BB 0K 0HR 0.00ERA Urbina - 1I 1H 0R 0ER 0BB 0K 0HR 4.50ERA Alfonseca - 1I 0H 0R 0ER 0BB 1K 0HR 0.00ERA (Save 1) Box: R H E MIL 0 6 0 CIN 3 8
RaptorQuiz
cheers lads, thanks for all the kind words @raptor - cheers mate, though ill have to beat your Cards along the way That shouldn't be so hard. Whenever I play a dynasty as another team - it seems like the CPU makes idiotic decsions with the players - often trading away Yadier Molina © or calling up no-name outfielders and sitting Edmonds or Walker or Sanders. It seems like Grudzialanek NEVER stays @ 2B... but ah well. Whatever. Good luck anyway - and since this is just a game and not REAL life - GO KICK THE CARDS' BUTTS!
Lual
Upcoming Series - 3 Games Home vs Chicago Cubs Game 1: Chicago Cubs (2-2) @ Cincinnati Reds (3-0) Reds Keep On Rollin'! Above: Griffey and Dunn are back! 4 straight for the Reds, as they maul the Cubs thanks to their power-hitting 3-4-5 punch. The Reds had led 3-0 after the 1st inning, but where soon pegged back, as Lee hit a 2 run shot, for the Cubs to tie it at 3-3 in the 4th. This is where the big guns came in, Pena hit a 2 run shot, Griffey a solo shot, and then Dunn another 2 run shot, as the Reds screeched into a 8-3 lead. Clayton then hit a pinch hit double to drive in another run, as the Reds wrapped it up 9-4. Harang pitched well enough to earn his 1st win, though he did give up 10 hits and 3 runs through 6IP. This turnaround in fortunes has delighted everyone connected with the ballclub, and the optimism is starting to grow... Reds Talk: Hill: "Im loving playing for the Reds, everything has gone well for me, and i can become a big time player here" Harang: "Its time i earn the big contract ive just signed, im no longer a average starter, im an important piece in our 1-2-3 punch" Reds Notables: Hitting: Hill - 4/4, 2RBI, 1 Triple Pena - 2/5, 1HR, 2RBI Griffey - 1/4, 1HR, 1RBI Dunn - 4/5, 1HR, 2RBI Encarnacion - 2/4, 1 Double Clayton - 1/1, 1RBI, 1 Double Lopez - 1RBI Pitching: Harang - 6I 10H 3R 3ER 0BB 3K 0HR 4.50ERA W(1-0) Belisle - 1I 2H 0R 0ER 0BB 1K 0HR 0.00ERA Urbina - 2I 1H 1R 1ER 0BB 0K 1HR 4.50ERA Box: R H E CHC 4 13 1 CIN 9 18

Plus tbh with the progression of some players, they are near on studs. im using the same setup (Sliders / All Star / Datafile etc) i just have a better staff to cope and alot more confidence, as playing a game when you are 50-90 has a negative effect on you. This year i have a clean slate, and can take on what i have learnt in the last year gobucs and spymoose - theres a long way to go, but lets hope i can put some sort of challenge together :wtg: cheers lads :)
