Lual
Game 2: Tampa Bay Devilrays @ Cincinnati Reds Bay Day Blues! Above: Jimenez makes a diving grab and gets the out at 1st, Right: Junior' has gone yard again With the 'Alternate Uni' series continuing for the Reds, the fans at the GABP saw their side blow a 3-0 lead, by giving up 6 runs in the final 2 innings. Harang had left the mound, after pitching 7 solid innings, giving up 8 hits but shutting out the DRays. Complementing his performance was a Reds offence which laid on 3 runs, including another solo shot from the man chasing 600, Griffey. Robertson came into tide the Reds over, but he collapsed, giving up 3 runs in the 8th, and then another 3 in the 9th, as the Reds literally threw the game away, losing 6-3. Now at 1-5 for the month of june, the rumours of moving for some bigger name players may now be quashed, as the Reds will surely have to dump salary, rather than take any on, in a losing season. Reds Talk: Casey: "Its not in my hands, but it dosent help matters when the press keep saying my days are numbered with the Reds" Harang: "Im getting back into a nice grove with my pitches. Its just a matter of time before the offence gives me some runs to pitch at" Reds Notables: Hitting: Casey - 2/4, 1 Double Randa - 2/4 LaRue - 2/4, 1RBI, 1 Double, 1 Triple Griffey - 1/4, 1HR, 1RBI Lopez - 1RBI Pitching: Harang - 7I 8H 0R 0ER 0BB 3K 0HR 1.40ERA Robertson - 2I 6H 6R 6ER 1BB 0K 0HR 5.40ERA L(0-2) Box: R H E TB 6 14 0 CIN 3 8

uktribe
Cheers Lual - I'll see you in EMLB - Off Topic BTW - If Tadano is still on the block then get him. He absolutley rocks. One of my favourite players despite a slightly chequered past. You may need to edit his action though....Shigetosi Hasegawa is about the closest I have found. If you want to try and nab and Cleveland prospects to even up a deal then I suggest Sizemore, Phillips, Tallet, Traber, Stanford, Fernando Cabrera
Lual
Game 3: Tampa Bay Devilrays @ Cincinnati Reds Reds Swept Away! Above: Austin Kearns wears a wry smile as he hits his 2 run homer as the Reds seize a lead, Right: Miley may soon be out of a job The final game between the Reds and DRays ended up just as the previous 2. Tampa pulled off a late comeback to clinch a series sweep of the struggling Reds. Interestingly, the Reds had rested their everyday players, giving Willingham C, Votto 1B, Freel 2B, Encarnacion 3B Aurilia SS and Kearns RF all the chance to start and impress for the Reds. Both sides broke out their bats in this game, as the Reds finally got back into the swing with 13 hits, the DRays racked up 15. Cincinnati also held, 5-2 (3rd) and 6-3 (4th) inning leads, and should of wrapped things up, as Mercker came in to pitch the 7th inning. The Bullpen failed the Reds yet again, as Mercker gave up 2 runs, before Ryan Wagner came in only to give up 2 more runs as Tampa Bay took a decisive 7-6 lead in the 8th inning. The Reds couldnt muster any comeback, and fell short, folding to a home sweep by the DRays. June is now a 1-6 month for the Reds who have collapsed 13GB in the NL Central. Reds Talk: Miley: "Where can we go from here, i thought we had hit the lows, today proved me wrong" Kearns: "Ill play when needed, but im not a Red at heart anymore" Reds Notables: Hitting: Aurilia - 2/5, 1RBI, 1 Double Freel - 2/5, 1RBI Kearns - 1/4, 1HR, 2RBI Encarnacion - 2/4, 1RBI Willingham - 3/4, 1 Double Pitching: Claussen - 6I 9H 3R 3ER 2BB 1K 1HR 2.86ERA Mercker - 1I 2H 2R 2ER 1BB 0K 0HR 3.81ERA Wagner - 2I 4H 2R 2ER 0BB 2K 0HR 6.57ERA L(1-4) Box: R H E TB 7 15 0 CIN 6 13
Lual
Upcoming Series - 3 Games, Home vs Baltimore Orioles Game 1: Baltimore Orioles @ Cincinnati Reds Orioles Fly Past Reds! Above: Griffey drives in an RBI to try and revive the Reds, Right: Dunn hits a solo shot, as he hopes to come back into form The Orioles came to town to show off their power hitting lineup, and they did just that, as they drove in 6 runs (2HR) in a 12 hit, 6-4 victory. Baltimore never looked in too much trouble, holding the lead from the 2nd inning, before driving in 3 runs in the 6th, to put the Reds to bed in this matchup. The Reds can take some hope in the fact that Adam Dunn got back into the swing of things, jacking in a homerun, as he looks to pull himself out of his recent slump. Dominguez started on the mound for the Reds, lasting only 5.2 innings as he couldnt continue his impressive showings, as he gave up all 6 Oriole runs. 2 more games in this series for the Reds to turn things around, as they will hope to avoid a 6 game losing streak and a double home sweep in their Inter League series. Reds Talk: Dominguez: "My position is up for grabs, i dont think the Reds know their 5 starters for next year as yet" Randa: "Theres alot of youth around this clubhouse, us vets need to pull them together, so we can get through the tough times" Reds Notables: Hitting: Lopez - 3/3, 1RBI, 1 Double LaRue - 2/4, 1 Double Dunn - 1/4, 1HR, 1RBI Jimenez & Griffey - 1RBI Pitching: Dominguez - 5.2I 11H 6R 6ER 0BB 0K 2HR 3.38ERA L(0-2) Robertson - 3.1I 1H 0R 0ER 0BB 0K 0HR 4.20ERA Box: R H E BAL 6 12 0 CIN 4 9
Lual
Game 2: Baltimore Orioles @ Cincinnati Reds Orioles Take 2! Above: Casey's solo shot is celebrated like a World Series win, for the desperate Reds bench Game 2 against the Orioles, and the Reds sink to a new low as the Orioles stroll to a 10-3 win, thanks to their awesome hitting ability. The game stayed even through the first 4 innings, as the lead swapped hands in what appeared to be a close game. Sean Casey drove in just his 2nd homer of the year, but it wasnt to be for the Reds, as the fell away badly in the 5th inning. Milton who had pitched a solid game until then, gave up 7 hits and 5 runs in a blowout inning for the Orioles. The Bullpen came in to stop the bleeding, but the runs continued to tally up for the Orioles, as they eventually reached 10 runs on the back of 19 hits as the Reds slipped to 1-8 in June, losing their 5th straight game. Game 3 is a win at all costs affair for the Reds, as 2 consecutive home sweeps will not be tolerated by the humiliated Reds faithful. Reds Talk: Dunn: "Its been a long time coming, im glad to start making contact again" Milton: "A bad showing for me, i expect to lead this team, but today i let the fans down with that performance" Reds Notables: Hitting: Griffey - 2/4 Pena - 2/4, 1 Double Dunn - 2/4, 1RBI, 1 Double Casey - 2/4, 1HR, 2RBI Pitching: Milton - 5I 12H 7R 7ER 1BB 2K 1HR 3.24ERA L(8-4) Brazoban - 3I 4H 1R 1ER 0BB 2K 0HR 2.43ERA Mercker - 0.2I 3H 2R 2ER 2BB 0K 0HR 4.55ERA Wagner - 0.1I 0H 0R 0ER 0BB 0K 0HR 6.48ERA Box: R H E BAL 10 19 0 CIN 3 8
Lual
Game 3: Baltimore Orioles @ Cincinnati Reds Reds Play Their Tune! Above: Pena is fast becoming a stud for the Reds with another home run, Right: Business like, the Reds players leave the field after a rare win The Reds and Orioles finished up their series with another hit fest at GABP. This time, it was the Reds who took advantage of some poor pitching, to avoid the sweep with a 8-2 win. Cabrera was the unfortunate Oriole pitcher who bore the brunt of the Reds anger, as he allowed 6 of the runs, in a tough 4 innings pitched. Pena was the main man for the Reds, going 3/5, with a 3 run homer in the 4th inning to put the Reds 6-1 ahead. Overall the Reds put 15 hits on the board in an all round impressive display. Paul Wilson picked up his 4th win on the year, as he went 7 strong innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, as the Reds were able to match dominance on the mound, with productive at bats. The Orioles may have won the series, but this win could be a catalyst for the Reds as its becoming do or die in their attempt to return to the PlayOffs. Reds Talk: Pena: "Im learning everyday, playing alongside Ken. Its something to be proud of, i hope to become a star in Cincinnati" Graves: "No trade news yet, but im not concerned until the off-season, ill be a hot property in Free Agency" Reds Notables: Hitting: Griffey - 3/5, 1RBI, 1 Double Pena - 3/5, 1HR, 3RBI Dunn - 2/5, 2RBI, 1 Double Randa - 3/5, 1RBI, 1 Double LaRue - 2/5, 1RBI Pitching: Wilson - 7I 6H 2R 2ER 1BB 2K 1HR 3.69ERA W(4-4) Robertson - 1I 2H 0R 0ER 0BB 0K 0HR 3.94ERA Graves - 1I 0H 0R 0ER 0BB 0K 0HR 2.81ERA Box: R H E BAL 2 8 1 CIN 8 15

Lual
Upcoming Series - 3 Games, @ Boston Red Sox Game 1: Cincinnati Reds @ Boston Red Sox Reds Over Red Sox! Above: Dunn and Griffey bag a pair of homers each, as the Reds comeback from a 2-0 defecit in the 1st inning Cincinnati proved their metal, as they came back from a 2-0 defecit in the 1st inning, to overturn the World Champions in their own backyard. Things looked normal for the Reds, as Damon homered on the first pitch he faced, before Ramirez drove in a 2nd run. Then all hell broke loose for the Red Sox, as Griffey and Dunn drove in 2 homers each, as the Reds cameback to lead 6-2 after 8 innings. Nothing could stop the Reds offence, as Randa went 1.000 with a double in a 4/4 game, as they totalled 14 hits, overwhelming Matt Clement. The Reds are now on a 2-0 run, and will hope to take apart Knuckleballer Tim Wakefield in game 2 tomorrow night. Reds Talk: Griffey: "2 homers at Fenway is always special, if i can keep this up, the team will benefit a great deal" Harang: "After the 1st pitch homer to Damon, i feared the worst. 8 innings later im a hero, just shows how great a game baseball can be" Reds Notables: Hitting: Griffey - 2/5, 2HR, 3RBI Dunn - 2/4, 2HR, 2RBI Randa - 4/4, 1RBI, 1 Double LaRue - 2/4 Freel - 4SB Pitching: Harang - 8I 11H 2R 2ER 0BB 2K 1HR 1.65ERA W(1-0) Graves - 1I 1H 1R 1ER 0BB 0K 1HR 3.18ERA Box: R H E CIN 6 14 1 BOS 3 12

Lual
Game 2: Cincinnati Reds @ Boston Red Sox Wakefield Wins It! Above: Miley is ejected, arguing a call at 2nd base, Right: Kearns watches on, but does he care Tim Wakefield pitched a complete game shut out of the Reds, racking up 12Ks, as he mowed down almost everyone he faced. The only Red who managed to read Wakefields pitches, was Casey who went 3/3, but it wasnt enough for the team, as they managed just 4 hits total. Other than that, the game was pretty tight. Damon again homered in the 1st inning, and this was added to by Nixon in the 4th. The 3rd run was driven home in the 5th, as the Red Sox clinched game 2 3-0, tying this Inter-League series at 1. Ortiz may be given another chance to start for the Reds in game 3, as Dominguez has been a bit shaky in his latest outings. Reds Talk: Miley: "The umpires are too blatant on some calls. Lets hope this fires up the team to win this series, and show Boston that they have to respect the Reds" Dunn: "He is just unhittable, im glad we dont face him again this season" Reds Notables: Hitting: Casey - 3/3 Pitching: Claussen - 6.1I 9H 3R 3ER 1BB 1K 2HR 2.97ERA L(6-4) Robertson - 1.2I 0H 0R 0ER 0BB 0K 0HR 3.57ERA Box: R H E CIN 0 4 0 BOS 3 9

Lual
Game 3: Cincinnati Reds @ Boston Red Sox Red Sox Show Class! Above: An error at 1st allowed the Red Sox to load the bases for Renteria in the 7th. Right: Griffey hits a 3 run shot in the 6th The Red Sox send the Reds packing with a 10-3 crushing to seal a 2-1 Inter League series win. It was all Red Sox, as they lead from the off in the 1st inning. Renteria capped off the game for the Red Sox with a Grand Slam in the 7th inning, to counter act, Griffeys 3 run shot in the 6th. Ortiz was given the start in place of Dominguez, but he gave up 6ER and 3HR in a less than convincing start. Add to that, Dominguez came in to pitch 2 innings, where he gave up Renteria's Grand Slam as the old pitching woes for the Reds came back to haunt them. Cincinnati will be glad to get back to National League play, with a home stand against the Braves and then Cardinals as June draws to a close. Reds Talk: Miley: "Theres a big hole in our pitching staff, we appear to be running with just 3 or 4 decent starters" Ortiz: "In all likeliness, i wont be here much longer. Lual
Upcoming Series - 4 Games, Home vs Atlanta Braves Game 1: Atlanta Braves @ Cincinnati Reds Brave Braves! Above: Encarnacion is driven home to give the Reds a lead, Right: A force out at home, as the Reds cling on to their slender advantage Back at the GABP, and the Reds collapse late in the game to a battling Braves team. The Reds had a 1-0 (2nd), 2-1 (4th) & 3-2 (5th) innings lead, but a crazy 8th inning, saw the Braves put 5 runs on the board, as Milton and then Mercker where unable to shut the Braves down in a clutch inning. In a series that the Reds are desperate to win, this late collapse in the opening game is a horrendous way to open up against Atlanta. Things really need to improve, this year is almost a write off for the Reds, so alot of thought and planning will need to go into the off-season, if the Reds are to comeback in 2006 with any credance. Game 2 is set for Wilson and Hampton to duke it out. Reds Talk: LaRue: "Its important that the guys at the bottom of the order start putting up the numbers. Theres a feeling that this team has alot more depth than we are showing" Milton: "This season could easily slip into a disaster for me. 8-5 is not bad, but it should be a double figure year for me already" Reds Notables: Hitting: Casey - 2/4 LaRue -- 2/4, 2RBI, 1 Double Pitching: Milton - 7I 7H 4R 4ER 2BB 3K 2HR 3.58ERA L(8-5) Mercker - 1I 4H 3R 3ER 0BB 0K 0HR 5.10ERA Wagner - 1I 2H 0R 0ER 0BB 3K 0HER 6.23ERA Box: R H E ATL 7 13 0 CIN 3 9

Lual
Game 2: Atlanta Braves @ Cincinnati Reds Tens Good! Above: Griffey ties it with a 2 run shot in the 9th, Right: Wilson pitches a solid game Game 2 and the Reds show their spirit, by coming back from a 3-1 defecit in the 9th, to win it in 10 innings, as Dunn hit a 2 run jack to walkoff with the win. The Reds should of closed things out, as they held a 1-0 lead from the 2nd till the 8th. Alas the Braves tied it in the 8th, then in the 9th, they added another 2 runs, as they appeared to have sealed the win. Then Griffey came to the plate, and BANG....2 run shot for the man chasing 600, the Reds tie it, and head into extra innings. The Reds then had their other home run machine to thank for the win, as Dunn hit the 2 run walkoff dinger. Mercker was awarded the win, but Paul Wilson set the Reds up for this victory, and will take alot of credit in the clubhouse for his attitude to step up in a clutch situation. Reds Talk: Griffey: "80 left, ill do the math for you guys, as you keep reminding me how close i am to 600" Miley: "We need a slice of luck, and today after 60 odd games, we actually get some" Reds Notables: Hitting: Lopez - 2/5 LaRue - 2/3, 1RBI Griffey - 1/5, 1HR, 2RBI Dunn - 1/4, 1HR, 2RBI Pitching: Wilson - 7.1I 8H 1R 1ER 1BB 2K 0HR 3.50ERA Brazoban - 1.2I 3H 2R 2ER 0BB 2K 0HR 2.79ERA Mercker - 1I 0H 0R 0ER 0BB 0K 0HR 4.94ERA W(1-2) Box: R H E ATL 3 11 0 CIN 5 9

Above: Harang gets his only K, Right: Mo, setups up for his 10th dinger The Reds Willy dosent need Viagra to go long, this Willy is always a solid at bat and makes sure his shaft always hits the sweet spot... Pena hit a jack, and then a single to drive in Jimenez, as the Reds picked up a useful 2-1 win over the vibrant Braves. Harang showed solid game for the Reds as he put up 8 strong innings, giving up just the 1ER in the 9th, as he went for the CG. Graves came into collect the save, though not without a scare, as he gave up a double to Giles with his first batter faced. The result puts the Reds on a 2 game winning streak, and will give them a chance to take 3 games from this series, as Claussen will head to the mound in game 4 tomorrow.
