kevineasyc
I am 6 years into my dynasty and one thing I have notice is that alot of the pitchers, starters and relievers, are throwing 100mph or more on their fastball. I am having trouble hitting them even in Pro mode and with keggan paterson, my greatest cheat batter. For god sake, even Barry Zito, who is not known as a flamethrower, is throwing 99mph on his fastball and his curveball once registered 92mph. Can anyone stop this? HarleyRider
Yea... Go into your Create/Edit player, pick the pitcher you want to change, and lower his pitch speed numbers. Cheers!!!
kevineasyc
Yea, but the problem is that a lot of the pitchers are throwing 100mph or more
Gudraves
Then I guess you have alot of work ahead of you. Thats really just a problem with the game as theres nothing that stops pitchers from developing stats. Could be a fix out there but I wouldnt know what to look for to find it. Ari
I took a few throws with zito, none of his pitches went more than 94. Maybe you played with very strong wind, or check your tuning.

The player progression in MVP sucks. It's a joke. There's no use even playing a multiple year dynasty IMO.
Emil
Why don't you download the player progression mod?
HarleyRider
Why don't you download the player progression mod? HUH?!?!?! I didn't know such a thing existed. WOW! Thanks for the info. I guess you can download it here at MVPmods? Cheers!!!
abhall
Why don't you download the player progression mod? I have it. The mod does improve it quite a bit. I simmed several full seasons though and still found some errors/issues that bothered me. The mod can only address so much. It's EA's job to do a better job out of the box with player progression.. cybernetic
I'm great at hitting fastballs.. not so good at hitting off-speed pitches unless I've gotten into a groove and timed it perfectly

There are some issues with player progression that can't be fixed, although if you list your specific issues, I might be able to point you in the right direction (I believe it was my mod that you downloaded). sfgiantsflgators
i had that happen as well with greinke with my first multi-season owner mode (but i enjoyed it because greinke was on my team - won 2 cy youngs in a row because of it  ) haven't had that problem since bill's progression mod though - haven't noticed any other glaring mistakes since downloading it either. there'll always be something due to EA's lackluster effort but bill's mod helps out quite a bit and is definately worth the download. HarleyRider
If you use this mod, will you still have your created player when you start a new dynasty? As of right now, I have to re-create myself after every season. It's beginning to be a real drag! Any answers appreciated. Thanks. Cheers!!! The player progression mod affects ratings only--how player ratings progress and initial ratings for rookies. They are global variables and don't have anything to do with adding/removing individual players.

Hilltopper3339
I tested for the mod, and despite the limitations that the initial EA progression system created, it works incredibly well. Not only are the pitchers adressed, but batters, prospects, and even stolen bases are all at realistic numbers through 5, 10, 15, and more years. A lot of people simmed a lot of seasons to get those results. :D
