Ball distance & Wall distance

I noticed some deep hit balls @ Tampa & Toronto where the ball distance meter that shows up at 300 ft. seems off. I've seen home runs where the meter said a number lower than what the wall right there said. And the ball would land on the second deck! Other times it would be the other way around, it says it's long enough but dosen't make the track.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

The problem with the distance counter is that it stops as soon as the ball makes contact with the stands. A right-field upper-deck home run in Yankee stadium registers around 320-340 feet according to MVP, whereas the distance measurement they use on ESPN or other networks usually has it about 100 feet further than that. I haven't hit a homerun over 500 feet except in minor league or spring training ballparks, where there are no obstructions to screw up the distance counter.

I mean literally the distance of a flyball that is caught by the LF in front of the wall with the 328ft sign will be measured as something like 370ft by the game. Did I really hit a home run ball but got screwed by the game? Or was it really just a flyball? I will never find out unfortunately and that's frustrating. Especially if that ball is a game decider.

haven't noticed this problem, however i've noticed balls being caught right against the wall (say 400 ft) registering at something like 380. there is no way when his back is against the wall that there's 20 feet of space.
