moto
Let me rephrase the question: Does anyone know the 3 sections or parts in the mstadium.o file to edit the wall of any minor league stadiums? Thanks Sorry, dunno. Try using Cleveland like sean said. Thats what I'm using. Question for you Sean. How do you calculate the distance of the walls in feet. For example: 470x 4274z. Sean O
Sorry, dunno. Try using Cleveland like sean said. Thats what I'm using. Question for you Sean. How do you calculate the distance of the walls in feet. For example: 470x 4274z. 4274 / 12 = the length in feet. If you are trying to create a specific distance to a wall, such as from a classic park or whatnot, take the foot measurement, multiply it by 12 to get the inches, and then use the pythagorean formula to figure out where it goes in the x/z plane. It's a lot of ballparking, to use a terrible pun.
crazyfool
can someone make a stadium that has alot of high walls, that would be the ULTIMATE pitchers park.
moto
Okay Sean, I'm tryin the x and z's now. How did you figure that this line (1503, 4272 -> 1400, 4735) equals 328? I want to push the wall back more but I dont know how much more (I'm thinkin like 342 would b good to start). If you could give me your calculation method that would be great. moto
All done! Didnt check the physics yet but I followed the instructions to a tee so hopefully it will work. Now for graphic enhancements (i.e. warning track needs to be moved up and down in some places, wall goes under crowd (haha), and the distance numbers are either floating or out of place). I know you said you weren't good at graphics but if you could help or point me in the right direction that would be great. Also, that notepad documenator that you posted saved me hours of time. U r da man sean.
Sean O
To start with graphics, put nfshtool in the folder you unpacked the park in, then drag and drop cram32.fsh into it, and it will create a new folder. pirate goes over it in the oedit tutorial. The best way to check for obvious wall issues is by going into replay mode, go to the free camera and move around the edges of the park. A lot of times you'll miss a point (there's one in the foul area of Cleveland Stadium which makes 0 sense), and it'll cause all sorts of problems in the park. Glad you're enjoying it, so hopefully more people can figure this out to create new parks.
kevineasyc
hey Sean O, I want to edit the height of the wall of a minor league stadium. Do you know the 3 parts of the stadium.o file of any minor league stadium that I need to edit. I open up the stadium.o file of all the minor league stadium but there is too many parts and I don't know which part is the wall. Thanks!

I open up the stadium.o file of all the minor league stadium but there is too many parts and I don't know which part is the wall. Thanks! You just have to search part by part, and find each piece of the wall. There is usually no rhyme or reason, except for maybe some clockwise action going on with hte parts... Sean O
If you look in the menus of oedit, there'll be an option that says "show all parts." Click on that, then get a rough idea of where the walls are in the top view. hit ctrl-f to maximize the window, and hold down ctrl and click and drag around the screen to move. ctrl-w zooms in, ctrl-q zooms out. Then, start with the last part and keep moving until you find a wall. Everything you need is in this thread or in the oedit tutorial, so you're going to have to just spend time in the program getting used to it. I learned with no help from anythnig but the oedit tutorial, so all this should be a huge step up on what I learned with. As of tomorrow I won't be around to answer questions, so best of luck to you. kevineasyc
thanks a lot moto. Would you happen to know the parts for right field?
moto
Actually, i'm gonna do a002. It has more vertices which allows you to have different dimensions for LCF and RCF. The parts are 296, 281, 271 and 266.
moto
Any other questions just PM me. I'm not a pro but I did create a stadium (although ugly; graphic changes needed to be made) with correct physics.
kevineasyc
do know know the other parts for the other field, such as right center to the right field line or left center to the left field line. Thanks a lot anyway for these parts
kevineasyc
I finally was able to change the wall height in a002day.big to 100 feet but for some reason the ball is still going through the wall. I assume this can be a collision detection issue. Can someone help, especially Sean O?
kevineasyc
Finally i am able to change the height of the wall. I make the wall of a002day.big 100 feet high. But for some reason it seems to be 100 feet high all over the field. I make I made the wall 100 feet high, and yes the ball does bounce against the wall, from right center to the right field foul line, but for some reason it also seems to be 100 feet high from left field foul line to center field. The ball also bounce off against that area also, but off course the wall is invisible. And as for modding the wall, I don't think you need to edit the wall.dat. Editing the stadium.o file would be perfectly fine. I done it both ways
