mrmariner
I had the same problem and reading this thread has fixed it. I now have the bats and the ball. I changed the slash on the line: move bat.fsh modelstexturesbat.fsh and everything works great. I have win98se. Thank you very much :D

Doesn't make sense to me.
AgentQ16
Hey spitoon, I Love the bat installer, but was wondering if you could help me with something. I've edited a couple of the bats bmp files in Photoshop and then went to install them like normal, but my edits never appear in the game. All the bats i've slightly changed appear the same as they ever have. what am I doing wrong? All the bmps are still one layer and same size, everything... but they don't ever change after I edit them and try to re-install with your installer. any ideas.? They are modified in the fsh folder too, but just never appear edited in the game.

Have you renamed the files properly? What are the file names in the /fsh folder?
AgentQ16
Yep, have been using it for awhile now. No problems. Well, except for it won't install mine that I have edited. No errors... it lets me pick which ones and runs through fine. The bats (default ones) show up...but my edited ones never appear. and they are using the same name i just lighten up or enhance colors of your original bmps. The ones n the fsh folder are 0001 0002 0003 etc. plus the index file. what gives? :?:
spitoon
So you are saying that you change the bmp, it appears to change the fsh, but your changes don't show up in the game? I have no idea. The fsh's are generated from the bmps so if you've made it that far I can't see why it wouldn't work. Are you sure that when you save your .bmps, it's saving them with the proper name...overwriting the old ones. Some image editors will save it as "Copy of blackandredxbat.bmp", or 'blackandredxbatcopy.bmp, or I've seen 'blackandredxbat(1).bmp'. Another problem might be with the extension. If window is set to "Hide Extensions of Known File Types" then you might be saving them as 'blackandredxbat.bmp.bmp' which also wouldn't work. Those are the only things that I can think of. Try right clicking your /bmp folder and select Properties...how many files does it report? Mine reports 163 files, 27 bats X 6 options for each = 162 + windows thumbnail file (hidden) =
AgentQ16
Yep, I just overwrite the original, so the name never changes... but in the fsh folder I don't see multiple fsh files, just bmps 0001 0002 etc plus the one index.fsh file. Is there supposed to be more than that one index.fsh file? Weird.... :?

How about your /bmp folder how many files is windows reporting? If the changes are showing up in the /fsh folder, then I can't understand why they don't get transferred into the game.... Maybe try starting with a STOCK initstaz.big file, make sure your changes are in the /fsh folder and run it again? Sorry, I'm at a loss here. AgentQ16
well, now no changes take place at all...not even just choice changes. the bat selection remains the same in the game no matter what I select in the install "chooser" program you made. I'm gonna try reverting back to the original .big files and try it again.. strange huh?
AgentQ16
8O Ok, I found the problem. It was the gfxpak file. Your mod uses a different one than some other mods I've installed since first dloading yours awhile back. I reinstalled your mod with the included gfxpak and it worked like it used to. All good! :D

Whew, you had me going for a bit there...I know there is an older version of gfxpak that doesn't recognize one of the commands... '-u' I think. Glad to hear you figured it out.
