Yo.

I bought MVP baseball 2005 about a week and a half ago. I have no idea anything about this editor stuff. I'd like to know. What programs are they? Where are they gotten? Stuff like that. Like for stadiums and stuff..... all I know is there is a pathetic stadium create on the game. (Very little options) The way you guys talk, you can do much.... How? What do I need? Where do I get it?

Also... Can anyone tell me how to hit? I mean, I can get a few singles now and then. I am playing on All-Star already because the computer will never score if I play on pro or rookie (at least at the major league level) So.... I can pitch well. I can't seem to hit well at all. I will never win the home-run showdown, because I can't hardly ever hit home runs. If I do, it's always short ones. I've never hit the ball further than 370ft. I did this once with Harmon Killebrew, but usually can't hit that far either. Even if I chose upper cut, it seems to always either hit grounders or soft infield line drives. Any tips?

Thanks

to chanage the way YOU hit, change the options (we all call these sliders by the way). make sure you turn your hitting options to 50 for contact and power to 50 like he said. now if you still stink, maybe use the sliders to make the pitcher for the PC stink a little so that will even things out. Even further, lets say you are the braves and chippers hitting attributes for contact are in the 60s, you can open up files on your PC to change his attributes. go to wherever you installed the game (c:program filessmvp baseball 2005datadatabase and then open the file called attrib. It is called attrib.dat really, and if it won't open up, right click on it and choose the option that says "open with..." and then open it with note pad. from now on, that file will always open with notepad for you. now go forth and hit.

and welcome to the site.

Yeah, I know I can change the tuning, but I was hoping for a little fairer way of doing it. I'll try it and see. I left the pitching tuning the same and it's about perfect for me. I give up 0-5 runs per game on All-Star (except when Randy Johnson gave up 7 runs in 1/3 inning. LOL.) I hoped I wouldn't have to tune, but if I have to, I will.

Any help on the editing stuff?

Thanx. My guess is that I will have fun with it. It seems to exponentially improve the quality of the game. (I suppose I should wait until I try it. LOL) Expos, huh? I liked the Expos. Out of pity I guess. Being a Twins fan, I know what it's like having to endure! For several years, we were the Expos of the AL. Mocked by everyone. Now, we're trying to win our fourth straight division title and are many folks' pick to win it all. That'd be cool.

I'll try this editor out and see if I can figure it out. Thanks for the help guys.

K. I was wondering how to build stadiums of variant sizes. I will download some of other peoples' but I also want to do it myself, you know. The stadium create gives you like no options for the size of the stadium. I want to make size changes. I think it can be done with some program, and was wondering if it could be done with self created stadiums. I'll download that one now. I'll check it out.

Change User batting contact and power to 50 and you shall hit!!!!!

That's actually what I do. I play on All-Star with the user contact and power jacked all the way up. I can pitch well, but batting with consistency is my main problem.

Don't know where to save it to in order to get it to work, or where to put it I mean.

I think you put .txt file into datafile and put the stadium file in data/stadium and overwrite.

OEdit is the program... there is a tutorial in the FAQ section of the site, and it is all really confusing so be willing to commit time if you really want to edit it

Anyone else have trouble laying off bad pitches, or does everybody just use the tuning option until they get it the way they want it?

I mean, the pitches are so dang fast, I can hardly ever tell where they're gonna end up. Plus, if I do hit them, it's either a grounder or a line out. Every now and then a fly out. Hitting is so blasted hard on this game.

Help!!!!
