laravich
I've been formatting some mp3's for batter walk-up music by reducing them to 6-8 seconds in length and converting to asf's, but when I try to import them using the ditty importer says the files are still too big. I'm finding I have to trim them down to 3-4 seconds in length to get them to fit into the allotted slots, which is kinda short. Will making them mono instead of stereo make the files smaller, or will this hurt the quality too badly? Is there something else I can do to keep the 6-8 second length? iansimcox
Mono would do it probably. I tend to have them saved as 24000kHz 16-bit stereo wave files, and then convert them into asf. This seems to be about the quality the EA ones are.
laravich
I checked a couple of the mp3's in Audacity and it showed them as 44000khz and 32-bit which may be the problem, probably a lot higher quality than is needed. I'll try reducing the quality on the front end to 24000/16 and hopefully can leave them stereo. Thanks for the help.

UncleMo
ask your question again what do you mean? you still want dittys that are already converted?
ataris812
I use Audacity to edit my songs. I cut them down to about 7-8 seconds per song, and save them as 64 kb/s mp3s. It works almost all the time. The only problem is that some of the song files are significantly shorter than others. Most are more than 200kb, and 7-8 seconds will work fine. But some of them are well under that, and will probably need to be cut off at about 5-6 seconds.
